## What is OOVA?

Meet Oova: the hormone translator that quantitatively measures luteinizing hormone (LH), E3G (an estrogen metabolite), and PdG (a progesterone metabolite) through an at-home urine test. Oova’s Hormone Kit tracks, predicts, and confirms ovulation with precision whether you are trying to conceive, navigating perimenopause, or mapping your cycle.

Lab accuracy in your home:

Oova was designed in partnership with Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City to build a tool that doctors and patients can feel confident using. Scientists, engineers, and doctors designed Oova to be the most medically trusted at-home hormone test.

Completely personalized experience:

Oova measures your hormone levels quantitatively to provide valuable insights, rather than comparing your data to some standard threshold or the “perfect" 28-day cycle. Oova learns what your personal cycle trends are and detects your fertile window from there. Our algorithm tells you exactly which days to test, so not a cent, day, or pee, is wasted!

Track as little or as much as you want:

Customize data logging to track what’s most relevant to you. You can choose from a variety of categories including mood, exercise, cervical mucus, symptoms, and medications. All of this information (paired with your hormone levels) allows Oova to get smarter and learn your unique hormone baseline.

Use Oova with your healthcare provider:

Oova allows doctors and clinicians to provide unprecedented remote care. If you’re working with a doctor, your provider will be able to see your data in our HIPAA-compliant dashboard, as soon as you scan your Oova strip. You no longer have to worry about what your doctor wants or needs to know. Oova takes care of that for you.

How it works:

Register in the app and activate your Oova Hormone Kit. On a testing day, provide a urine sample on the test strip (either midstream or by dipping it into a cup), and scan the strip with the camera on your smartphone. Our algorithm will analyze your strip to calculate how much luteinizing hormone, PdG, and E3G is present. Within minutes, you’ll know exactly where you are in your cycle and be provided with resources to help guide your journey.

### 2/5 — Useless App

*2025-06-08, version 3.026*

This app is quite frustrating. You’d have to be a fertility doctor to know what your scores mean. There’s no graph of your scores, explanation of what they mean, or comparison to the norm or your peers. I know you can meet with a coach through oova, and it’s hard not to imagine that they’ve made things so limited that you have to pay extra to meet with one of their coaches.

### 3/5 — Why is scanning so difficult?

*2024-06-05, version 3.012*

I just started using this kit and I’m on day 2, but each time I try to scan it takes forever to line it up in a way that it will actually scan. I have to keep going back and forth until the app will scan, it’s really annoying. I have to do it so many times that I’m worried I’m cutting it close on the 5 minute window of time I have to scan each of the 2 strips. This user experience should be improved.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-02-29, version 3.007*

Can’t make any changes! It asked for the first day of my last period and average cycle length and is now telling me I’m on the first day of my period but it hasn’t even started yet! And I can’t change it. This app is awful.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-02-07, version 3.005*

Using it for hormone tracking. Great product.

### 5/5 — Fav tracking app!

*2023-11-02, version 2.413*

Very user friendly and I love the fact that I can now easily track ovulation and fertility more accurately. I love that I have an overall understanding of my hormone levels throughout the month too. And bonus - the app is visually pleasing and very intuitive to use. Can’t recommend enough.

### 5/5 — Super useful!

*2023-10-23*

This product gave me so much insight on my cycle! Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — Helps cycle tracking

*2023-10-20*

Oova has helped me track my cycle and further understand my hormone trends.

### 1/5 — First time I’ve ever reviewed an ap

*2023-06-02, version 2.316*

My experience has been so horrible I feel compelled to warn others. This ap is a scam. For the last month I was charged almost $100 for tests that will not scan and say they are expired. This has cost me a month of data collection for our attempts to conceive. Customer service has not responded to my many emails and messages through the ap. Try another service!

### 5/5 — Peace of mind

*2023-05-05, version 2.312*

I am extremely happy with this product and the company. I feel confident in the hormone tracking services but more than that I am so pleased with customer service. I’ve had a slight issue with the test strips (my fault, not anything wrong with the product) and Angela has been so kind and helpful anytime I’ve had issues and has really helped give me peace of mind as well as answered any questions I had. She responds so quickly which I appreciate since tracking my ovulation is time sensitive . It really helps me feel even more confident in this product that anytime I’ve had an issue i can talk to a real person who will help resolve the problem and make sure I am getting the most out of this fertility tracking service. I love being able to see my exact hormone levels, and not just my LH as with most ovulation kits but my progesterone levels too. Bc of OOVA I am more in tune with my body and recognizing other signs of ovulation that are then confirmed with the test strips. Overall I am very happy and I will be recommending this to all my friends !

### 3/5 — Need more functionality

*2023-03-20, version 2.310*

For how expensive this is ($150 for the starter kit and $100 for refill tests) I expected much more functionality in the app. You can only log one result a day and it doesn’t warn you when you log the second. Therefore I lost the result for my only “peak” result for the month, as by the evening it was down to “low.” Customer service gave me instructions for how to log a second result in the Notes of the other result! That is way more manual than I expect from an expensive product. Secondly, I don’t have a report yet because I haven’t finished a full cycle so I don’t know what reports look like, but right now there’s no way to see the data across time (no graphs or visuals). Instead I have to go to the calendar and click each day to see the results. I’ve resorted to plotting it in Excel like it’s 2008. Honestly I feel like I’ve been ripped off. I’m sure there’s a much cheaper way to test progesterone, and clear blue digital LH tests are also much cheaper. Lastly, not enough insights. I have to Google to figure out what the progesterone levels might mean - I wish the app would provide bite sized insights based on my data. I’ll keep using for now since I already spent the money, and using clear blue digital tests concurrently.
