## What is Open Dugout?

Open Dugout is the youth softball community app built for coaches, players, and families who are serious about finding the right fit — not just any team or roster spot.
FOR COACHES
Managing a competitive softball program means more than running practice. It means filling your roster before the season starts, finding a reliable pitcher for next weekend's tournament, and getting your tryouts visible to the right players.
Post tryouts, clinics, camps, and tournaments with age group, location, and event details — and reach players who are actively looking. When you need a guest player fast, browse available athletes in your area and connect directly. Build and manage your roster inside the app, and message players and families without sharing your personal number.
FOR PLAYERS AND FAMILIES
Finding a competitive team — or the right guest play opportunity — shouldn't require posting in five Facebook groups and waiting to see who replies.
Browse tryouts and events near you, filtered by age group and location. Express interest so coaches know you're coming. Complete your player profile and let coaches find you when a guest slot opens up. Message directly through the app — no personal contact info shared.

HOW IT WORKS
Sign up as a coach or as a player/parent. Coaches get a full dashboard to manage events, browse available guest players, and handle roster connections. Players and parents get a feed of upcoming events and a discoverable profile that coaches can find.
Everything is built around one goal: connecting the right player to the right team, at the right time.

Notifications for connection requests and messages are more reliable, including for families managing a linked athlete profile.
The app is now available on the web, with the same core features as mobile.

Tryouts — Coaches can now create a digital tryout session, share a registration link with families, and evaluate players live on tryout day. Every registrant is saved to a prospect bank automatically.

New Athlete Profile — Player profiles have a redesigned layout with dedicated sections for positions, scouting stats (exit velocity, throwing velocity, pitch types), and availability — making it easier for coaches to find the right fit.

Guardian Linking — Parents can invite a co-guardian by email to share access to an athlete profile. Both sides of the family stay connected without managing separate accounts.
Profile Photos & Team Logos — Add a photo to your player profile or a logo to your team. Both appear on your cards when coaches or players are browsing.

Guest Player Search — All 50 States — Guest player and tournament fill-in search now covers every state.

Bug fixes and performance improvements.

### v1.1.2 — 2026-06-20

Push notifications — messages, connection requests, and event-interest alerts should now arrive reliably. Previous builds had a development-only entitlement that silently blocked them in TestFlight/production.

Family invites — from a player's profile, invite a parent or guardian by email. From team management, do the same to fill a roster spot. The recipient gets a pending invite they can accept or decline from their own account.

### V1.1.1 — 2026-06-19

Push notifications are now working reliably on iPhone and Android. If messages or connection alerts weren't coming through before, this fixes it.
Coaches: you'll get notified the moment a player shows interest in one of your events.
Other bug fixes and improvements.
