I wanted to have it because I love reading, but most ebooks cost money. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. For example, the scarlet rose. All they have is book 2 and 3 but there are 5 books! I like this series but I can’t read it all. I open the app because my dad has my real books, and nothing is loading in. I don’t know if it is the app or my phone but I hope it gets fixed. There is no option to go to a particular page, which is frustrating and forces me to go one page at a time to get back to where I left off. Please fix with next update. ### 2/5 — Cant login *2021-01-02* I sped this and I need a clever account of a first book account to login but I’m not trying to do this for school. ### 3/5 — cuts off the top for iphone x users *2020-09-08* I love the app for how much books I can read but the problem is half of the time i spent reading the books is usually trying to adjust so i can read the first two sentences of a page. I love how there are different settings for the background and texts which means i can read in the dark without straining my eyes. The app is also very easy to navigate. Overall, my only complaint is how it cuts off at the top. ### 3/5 — Words cut off of page *2020-08-01, version 1.8.1* I love the huge selection of novels in this app for students, but words are cut off at the top of my page when I read on my iPhone X. I have experienced this with every book I have attempted to read, and my students have as well. I hope this gets fixed so I can recommend this app to more students. Potential to be a really amazing resource! ### 2/5 — FIX TOP LINE ISSUE *2020-05-24, version 1.8.1* I’d give this 5 stars in a heartbeat but I have an iPhone XR and the top line of books gets cut off because of the formatting of the book to fill the whole screen but where my speaker is the line gets cut. I’ve tried to downsize the text size and other things and nothing can fix it. It stinks skipping a line on every page ### 1/5 — Catalog won’t load *2019-07-15, version 1.7.6* I tried reporting this issue through the app but it won’t connect at all despite my strong WiFi connection. We can’t see the catalog at all to find new books. The books in our library are the only ones we can access. Please fix this issue. It’s been over a year since my school has raised the issue of this incompatibility, with little more than “We are aware of the issue and it should be resolved shortly.” I wish I could recommend this app for my students, but it just doesn’t work. ### 4/5 — Amazing App! (But formatting flaw on iPhone XS Max) *2019-03-31* I came across this app and access to it through First Book Marketplace. It has been an amazing tool for not only myself but also my students. Being able to provide them with free access to a variety of e-books that they can read on the go has definitely changed my students interest in reading for the better. However, there is a formatting issue with the taxed on the iPhone XS Max. The top line of each page gets cut out because of the notch! I really hope this formatting issue is fixed soon! ### 1/5 — iPhone XR *2019-03-19, version 1.7.6* As I am reading it just randomly kicks me out of the app completely. If you subscribe to First Book you can hand subscriptions to families for free. They can access dozens of books at home for FREE! Again this is all free and the pictures are clear and crisp. Some books don’t download but it’s because I believe they are maxed out in digital copies. So I suggest trying a different day. Or even a different book. ### 5/5 — Open Ebooks on the iPhone X *2018-07-10* On the iPhone X, the app Open Ebooks is great. However, one problem that I witness every time I try to read on the app is, the app cuts off some of the top text because of the notch on the iPhone X. The text on top of the page is unreadable because of this problem. Hopefully you can change this so I, along with the many other “Book Lovers” can get back to reading as soon as possible.
