These pictures is a bit much. ### 2/5 — Overheated My Phone *2026-08-19, version 1.28.0* They need lots of photos and they must be taken using their app on your phone. Not only that but the phone must be held vertically the entire time because it is recording your walk-through. You cannot take a break.. Because video recording generates a lot of heat, my phone shut down three times while trying to take the exterior photos on a hot day. Not only that but, it’s practically impossible to see the phone in the bright sun and having selected “exterior” to take photos of before stepping out into the sun, I did not realize they had separate exterior categories that it wanted me to do. So once I had photographed the entire exterior, I went into the shade where I could see my phone again I learned that I had to do them all again because of the sub categories. Ones there the listing agent couldn’t verify that he was me the selected agent for the job. They had someone else’s name. Took almost an hour to get the job done. Plus first time doing it I have to learn the app requirements. At the is $41 for the assignment I did other as easier assignments smaller homes for $200. So $41 - 10 for the gas $31 for me 2hrs assignment. Little too cheap. The hold times are never under one hour and call backs take DAYS. I’m in a hot market still. Our realtor listed the house for $215k initially. We dropped it to $199k to sell quickly as we had an offer accepted on another house so are looking to sell quickly. Open door initially gave us an “estimate” of $225k. Their “final offer” was $110 with $20k more when it resells. Hard no - I’ve already had far far better offers. Unless you’re super desperate don’t bother. ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-08-16, version 1.27.0* First they hire you and ask to download the app. Once you download it, then they cancel the task!! They are trying to increase the number of app downloads??? I had an appointment scheduled for 11:15 AM and received a confirmation, so my family and I made sure we were home and ready. We waited, and no one ever showed up. No phone call, no text, no email—nothing. After waiting, I had to call customer support myself. I was placed on hold, and when someone finally answered, the representative came across as dismissive and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by asking what happened to my appointment. The most frustrating part is that I don’t need to sell my house through Opendoor. I was simply exploring an easier option to make moving less stressful for my family. Instead, the process wasted our time and added unnecessary frustration. If this is how prospective customers are treated before they’ve even started the process, it’s hard to have any confidence in the company. I expected basic communication and professionalism, and Opendoor failed on both. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-07-15, version 1.25.0* Doesn’t work when using Zillow, just loops you over and over again to putting in your address and reviewing your options. And that’s BEFORE they hit you with their insane service fees and bloated repair deductions that will cost you an arm and a leg. It’s a total illusion designed to trap desperate sellers.
