### 2/5 — CNC

*2025-12-16*

I gave it 2 stars because when it works (about 30% of the time), I’m able to view and zoom in on the camera image. Unfortunately, most of the time it does not work at all.

We were told the phone/web version was problematic, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. We’ve had the system for a little over a year, and it feels like the app is getting worse, not better.

I’ve been trying all day to access my cameras and the app won’t load. Amateur system at best.

### 3/5 — Works great, when it’s working..

*2025-11-14*

When this app is actually working, it works pretty well. but it only works 50 percent of the time. I can’t see what’s going on the cameras. I’ve reach out to our tech support and they’ve told me it’s an on going issue with IPhone users and the app. It’s been several
Months and I thought maybe there’d be an update by now and this would stop happening. I was told I can go on the website and watch which would be great to do from my phone, except then it just wants to redirect me to the app which doesn’t work most of the time. It simply just keeps loading, and then there are exclamation marks on each camera.

Is there anyone working to resolve these issues ?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2024-07-18, version 3.0.2*

Any time I need this app, it always says username or password is wrong; when I’ve verified it’s right. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I’ve tried clearing my system cache, and soft resetting my phone. When it works it’s cool to have, but when it doesn’t it’s a big pain.

### 2/5 — Application constantly fails

*2022-11-29*

This app fails to connect and open camera view. Only option is to delete the app, download it again, and it will work for a while. Really irritating.

### 1/5 — I have to keep reinstalling on iPhone

*2022-04-08*

This website would be great if I didn’t have to keep reinstalling on my iPhone is there a fix for this?

### 2/5 — Cameras work fine. OpenEye platform does not

*2022-03-07*

Got this because we wanted to be able to view cameras remotely. Cameras work fine and can view locally on site but off site viewing is spotty. Someone’s the web interface on the computer works. Some times it doesn’t. Sometimes the app works on the phone and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes on works and the other doesn’t. Tried on multiple platforms and multiple computers and it’s a crap shoot. Each time I have driven out of my way to rest the network on site and found it working just fine with ability to stream videos/movies from different streaming services over the network but still unable to connect the cameras.

### 1/5 — Buggy with IPhone 12 ProMax

*2020-12-02, version 2.2.2*

Live video doesn’t come up while using the app on IPhone 12promax. Still Works fine on previous iPhone and other devices.

### 1/5 — Mobile app will not display my cameras

*2020-11-25*

I have had these outdoor cameras for approximately five years. Over the years, I have had to occasionally delete the app and reinstall the app and manually add the recorders to get the mobile feature to work again. Recently, they quit working again. I deleted the app, reinstalled the app however I cannot tie onto the cameras. The system is next to useless without the mobile feature.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. We released an update to our app this week. If you are still experiencing a problem with the latest version, please contact Support and they will assist you.

### 1/5 — Completely stopped working

*2019-08-26, version 2.0.0*

Every time I attempt to check my cameras from the app I’m met with “ERROR: Invalid username or password,” despite the username and password working normally on the website. I’ve asked others with access to the cameras at my business and they all have the same issue.

### 2/5 — Slow

*2019-07-22, version 2.0.0*

Many of the camera feeds are not synced together meaning some feeds are slower than other feeds.

### 1/5 — Don’t update to 3.2.3 if you haven’t already

*2026-06-12, version 3.2.3*

I was not experiencing any issues with the app, but kept getting the update message when I opened it, so I went ahead and updated it to 3.2.3. Immediately I noticed that when you click on a specific camera, the footage is not streaming anymore but now it’s as if it takes a screenshot every 2 to 3 seconds and shows you that. The second big issue that I have with the update is half of the cameras don’t end up pulling any video (or screen shot now) upon loading all the thumbnails. Really bad update and I’m going to have to see if I can go back to the previous update somehow. Almost unusable.

### 1/5 — Buggy and worthless

*2025-11-14*

App on iPhone and iPad currently don’t work. Even when it worked, was very buggy. Forces me to use web but even that isn’t very good.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-09-30*

It seems to get worse and more buggy with every update. Now you constantly have to reset your view preference.

### 1/5 — App is slow/crashes

*2025-06-22*

The app crashes when you try to skip through video. Open eye in general has poor performance with their servers and with this app. We only use them because its what was installed for security with our new builds. To many bugs in their servers. Slow, crashing, camera view loss, IP changes

### 1/5 — Help.

*2025-01-30*

Doesn’t show the right time of day on the new version. Poor connection. I spend more time waiting for it to load than reviewing what I want to see.

### 1/5 — App Crashes when connecting via web account when run on MacOS

*2025-01-10, version 3.1.3*

App Crashes when connecting via web account when run on MacOS

### 1/5 — Crashing all the time

*2024-12-28*

App keeps crashing within minutes of using. Was hoping it would be fixed by now but isn’t.

### 1/5 — Can no longer log in via Microsoft auth

*2024-09-18, version 3.1.1*

Used to be able to log in via single sign on with my work Microsoft account. With iOS 18 it goes through the motions but just spits out the auth token as text in a window and doesn’t send it back into the login flow of the app.

### 1/5 — Error

*2023-09-08, version 2.6.0*

There’s an error message logging in and then i can’t log in for days. It just kicks me out and unknown error pops up . Horrible

### 1/5 — Crashes continuously

*2022-06-26*

While using the app, I can’t even get to the point of watching footage before the entire app crashes. Even on a desktop using the webpage that is hardwired to the modem, the webpage will freeze at least once while viewing footage.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to use, nice features

*2026-05-29*

It’s great that you can share video. Super easy to search for video.

### 5/5 — Great app easy to access video

*2023-11-17*

The search timeline bar makes it very easy to find video when you don’t know the exact time an incident happened.

The event search for person and vehicles works well with Openeye analytics.

### 5/5 — Great experience.

*2022-08-08*

I am extremely happy with this application and the product it controls. The cameras are crystal clear and easy to use!!!

### 5/5 — App works great

*2022-07-14, version 2.5.0*

The new version released in July defaults to lower resolution when showing many cameras, so it loads a lot faster when away from the office.

### 5/5 — Easy to Use

*2020-12-06*

I just started using this app and am not aware of all the features. Coupled with the OpenEye cameras the images are really high quality.

The app allows you to view the video feed for each camera, and to zoom in. There is also the feature that enables the user to select the quality of the live video feeds. You can also scroll between the video feeds of each connected camera.

The search feature gives a list of each movement into the OpenEye range. From there you can select the video and export it if desired.

This seems to be very intuitive.

### 5/5 — Great security platform and slick app

*2019-05-23*

Delivers my HD video smooth and quick.

Great support.

### 5/5 — Great app, great support

*2017-06-14*

This app allows me to view and control my cameras remotely and it's constantly being updated with new features. Highly recommend OpenEye products!

### 5/5 — Great live video

*2016-12-19, version 1.2*

Looks like full motion video! Great remote monitoring tool!

### 4/5 — Works pretty good

*2022-03-23*

Been using this app for about a month and overall it works pretty good! Can be a little glitchy at times and it would be really nice to be able to set some notifications! I find the option under settings, but nothing there? Also the ability to set off an alarm or horn remotely would be beneficial! Takes awhile to get used to using and finding recorded events, but I am getting better at it! Picture quality is very good and even has a zoom feature! Overall 4 stars but could be 5 with some minor enhancements!

### 3/5 — Works 50%

*2025-12-10*

This app is great when it works. Problem is it actually loading
