### 1/5 — Cannot castle

*2023-04-29*

I downloaded the app to try it. First opening I did was king’s gambit wild Bertin gambit and it would not allow white to castle when needed. This app is garbage. I deleted it immediately (Response to developer) You have to click on the room after clicking on the king to castle. What does that even mean? So… I click on king first(because that’s the piece I am moving to Castle) and there is no option to castle. My review stands. It’s still garbage.

**Developer response:** Sorry you had a bad experience! Castling works, but not exactly like chess.com or lichess. You have to click on the rook after clicking on the king to castle. I’ll fix this in future updates!

Edit: sorry that was a typo. It was supposed to say rook.

### 5/5 — A wonderful tool for learning

*2023-01-25*

I downloaded this app along with many others while searching for something to help me learn openings and after trying them all, this was the one that stood out to me. I’m still a beginner and I never would have thought I’d be able to learn so many opening variations but this app makes it so easy. I love the method of learning through repetition, and with the ability to add custom variations, the usefulness feels amazing for the price. Very beginner friendly without the need for importing PGN files, and plenty of functionality at the free level. If you do decide to pay, the yearly price was similar to what some other apps charge per month. As if there wasn’t enough to like about the app, I also emailed the developer with some suggestions and to my surprise they responded that same day, confirmed one suggestion was coming in the next update, educated me on a feature I wanted but was already in the app, and took my third suggestion into consideration. I don’t often write reviews for apps, but this has been such a positive experience that I felt compelled to share. Back to studying!

### 5/5 — Highly underrated app

*2022-02-02*

Very effective for drilling and continuously memorizing openings ; I do hope they add more openings , I find this is a very effective and unique way to learn.

**Developer response:** Thanks! We’re glad you like it! You can use the explore tool to add any opening you’d like!

### 4/5 — Great for learning openings

*2021-12-06*

I only wish there were more openings, like QGD, Scotch, Scandi, Traxler counter attack, etc. Also, it would be nice if you didn’t have to input the opponent’s moves. But otherwise this was exactly the type of app I was looking for to improve my opening game.

**Developer response:** Thanks! You can add any opening you’d like using the explore tool!

### 3/5 — Waiting for dev to fix what appears to be a bug

*2021-11-10*

App has a lot of potential let’s see what he decides to do with it.

### 5/5 — Helped me beat my dad at chess

*2021-10-19*

This app is awesome! I’ve been playing chess with my father since I was a kid but always had trouble winning. Being able to practice openings and learning my own set of custom openings helped me understand the strategy behind moving groups of pieces in organized ways, and to understand strong versus weak counters to opponents’ moves. As a result I finally beat my dad! 5/5 stars for this app.

### 5/5 — Next Queens Gambit

*2021-10-10*

I was inspired by the Netflix series, The Queens Gambit, to learn some moves. This app serves me perfectly. Repetition while increasing the intensity and difficulty has me learning faster than any other app I’ve tried. Perfect for down time at the airport!

### 5/5 — Helpful app for improving your chess game!

*2021-05-04*

Easy to use, great visuals, useful for learning new opening moves

### 5/5 — The queens gambit is starting to make sense

*2021-04-28*

I was hooked on queens gambit in 2020. It got me to actually start playing chess again. After playing with some friends I realized that I did not understand any of the opening moves or how to position my pieces . Guides were fine but hard to practice.

This is app is simple to use snd useful. I get to see the game from both sides and play my opening piece, no more random pawn movements that cause me to lose in 2 moves! Super excited to crush my friends the next time I see them

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2021-04-27*

Very fun way to learn chess! Love this!
