Response from developer

In-app purchases are clearly disclosed on our App Store page and follow Appleโ€™s standard guidelines. We will offer a full refund, no questions asked, if you are not satisfied. The subscription fee supports our small team in collecting and updating millions of restaurant inspection records. If your area isnโ€™t covered yet or something looks off, email support@openkitchen.app and weโ€™ll help. We are committed to making OpenKitchen better every day for everyone who wants to eat with confidence.

Very incomplete app and forced to pay

This app barely has any states covered, they have no restaurants in my state showing, only showing in new york and california then if you go to any other state youd be lucky to find more than like 2 resturant. Then they expect you to pay a membership like they give any product worth paying for, and looks vibecoded

Response from developer

Hi! Please cancel your free trial or request a full refund if your area is not covered yet. Our team normally responds to requests within 2 hours. We cover NY, CA, Florida, and many other areas, like Seattle, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Boston. We expand our coverage every week! If you'd like us to prioritize your area, please submit a request in the app or email support@openkitchen.app.

Great app!

I use OpenKitchen to make sure I am aware of what is going on at the places I choose to eat at. There are too many places that look clean on the surface, but end up leaving your stomach a mess. Iโ€™m glad I have this app for assurance!

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for your review. We're glad you find OpenKitchen useful! Please let us know if you have any suggestions. Let's make OpenKitchen even better together!

Not accurate

Fake info the same inspection report on the health department looks way different on the app. They add more stuff fake report just be honest and post the right info shame

Response from developer

Hi! OpenKitchen shows inspection records exactly as released by health departments. If a record looks off, please report in the app or email support@openkitchen.app. We take accuracy seriously. (Note for restaurant owners: corrections to inspection records are handled by your health department only. Once updated there, the app reflects it.)

Scummy forced payments

This app is NOT free. Do not download it. It's another one of those dumb apps where they make it seem like it's free but end up forcing you to subscribe. We already subscribe to enough things in our life why should we subscribe to this?

Edit (response to developers): A lot of people usually think an app that's free to download is free, maybe with ads, maybe with optional in app purchases, but even the apps that do try to force subscriptions usually have some way of letting you use it for free. I understand the server costs thing though, but it would be a lot less deceptive if the app itself costed money instead of being free to download in my opinion.
