## Newest reviews (13 of 57)

### 3/5 — Good app, needs apple wallet support

*2026-06-25, version 2.23.0*

Would be great to add the library card to Apple wallet!

### 3/5 — Okay sometimes, crashes a lot

*2024-07-24, version 2.15.0*

For goodness sakes have an option to turn on push notifications. As someone who doesn’t use email enough it would be way better if there was app notifications.

### 2/5 — Never works on the first try

*2024-07-20, version 2.15.0*

Constantly running into errors when trying to view my books on hold/pause. Search functionality isn’t great.

### 2/5 — Used to be good

*2023-05-11, version 2.10.0*

I’m not sure what they changed a few months ago but now I have to log in every time I open the app with my user ID and password. Very annoying and slow. Sometimes the app doesn’t connect at all. I’ve been using the app for years and it used to be good. What happened?

### 2/5 — Too many hands ??

*2023-05-02, version 2.10.0*

The format of this site changes more often than any I have ever been on. I suspect too many government staff are well-paid to "look after" this site. Yet errors continue; e.g. a function doesn't work so I have to exit and re-enter, the look of the home page changes, the home page will decide to show me only new books and suggested books in French rather than in English....

Worst of all and very very very annoying is that we have to enter our user name and PIN each and every time we use it !!!
It's just a library, not a bank. No other site makes us do that. I have asked two different staff at different times. One said he didn't know why. The other said "for security reasons".

### 2/5 — Re-start

*2023-03-23, version 2.10.0*

I have to re-start my iPad/iPhone and re-enter my password every time I want to view my information pages. I wrote to inform them of this a couple of months ago and even though there has just been an update, I still have the same problems. All the update seems to have achieved is the landscape option has disappeared.

### 2/5 — Reenter password - each and every time

*2023-03-06, version 2.9.1*

The app’s features are ok except each time I use it I’m required to reenter my library code info. How hard can it be to fix this?

### 2/5 — OPL mobile

*2023-02-28, version 2.9.1*

Works fine on my iPhone 13 but since the last upgrade most screens do not load on my iPad Pro. Both have IOS 16+ installed

### 3/5 — Does what it supposed to but no Apple Wallet

*2021-12-30, version 2.7*

Nothing fancy but it does what it’s supposed to do. My only beef is that there’s no option to add to apple wallet. Maybe linked to your wallet cc so those late fees can be easily paid.

### 2/5 — Very Slow…

*2021-08-27, version 2.5*

Seems either poorly optimized code-wise or slow server-wise.

### 2/5 — Limited functionality

*2020-08-28, version 2.3*

There’s no possibility to read reviews on a title. Full item details do not contain live links, so it’s not possible to search, for example, the author’s name simply by clicking it.

### 3/5 — Great redesign

*2020-07-11, version 2.3*

The redesign made it a lot better but there’s still some problems including that depending on the aspect ratio of your screen you’ll get black bars.

### 2/5 — Not a great upgrade

*2020-07-05, version 2.3*

I feel like the app has suddenly become slow and awful and I can’t find things. Where would I look to schedule a hold pick up for example or book equipment

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Latest version no longer works on my iPad

*2025-09-21, version 2.20.0*

Still works on my iPhone.

### 1/5 — Logs me out, I log in, logs me out, I log in, and on and on

*2024-01-23, version 2.13.0*

For the love of all that is holy, fix the issue that keeps logging users out.

### 1/5 — New update - less used

*2023-06-07, version 2.10.0*

The new update requires to enter your login every time you open the app. I use to frequently use the app now it’s painful to use. It effects my use of the library in a negative way. The bar code scanning feature also doesn’t work. I’m very disappointed with the new update and hope the issues are fixed.

### 1/5 — Can’t see my books

*2023-06-03, version 2.10.0*

I used to be able to see the books I have checked out, the ones ready for pickup etc but I can’t any more. The search still works but that’s about it. Used to be 5 star but now one star is generous.

### 1/5 — I 💕 opl but this app is the worst!!!

*2023-02-08, version 2.9.1*

OPL is a joy, I love the service they provide. This app though is the buggiest crashiest thing, it constantly makes me feel like I’m crazy. It provides access to the services I love, but even when it’s working there is tons of lag, and sometimes the changes I make don’t take. At least once a week it has problems that last several hours, I know the moment it asks me to enter my password that the app is down. The website is usually down at the same time (Libby and overdrive however continue to be the work horses that just keep ticking!). OPL, if you are listening (which I know you do :)), please spend some time and resources on the e-tools. They are so important for accessibility!

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2022-01-28, version 2.7*

Search just uangs

### 1/5 — Useless

*2020-10-21, version 2.3*

Says I have zero books checked out regardless of how many I actually have. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling; does not help. I wasn’t alerted to holds that became available and was charged a restocking fee because I never went to pick them up. This app is pretty useless.

### 1/5 — OPL app

*2020-09-26, version 2.3*

This used to be the most wonderful app. I loved the OPL app AsIT Was. But this version is absolutely terrible. I have sent my detailed comments to the library with limited response. According to their technical department the changes were made without any input by them. What a shame

### 1/5 — Does Not Work Properly

*2020-07-02, version 2.3*

Like others have noted, many of the features that worked on the previous version of the App (i.e., “My Shelves”) simply do not work on this new version.

### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used.

*2020-06-27, version 2.3*

I only gave it one star because no option for 0. I can’t even load it onto my iPad Pro. I have to go to the App Store to use it. The old one was excellent. Typical bureaucratic nonsense to replace a perfectly goo app with this garbage!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works fine now

*2026-02-20, version 2.21.0*

Haven’t experienced any problems and can find books and check them out.

### 5/5 — Decent

*2026-01-19, version 2.21.0*

Pretty useful as of since I lost my library card

### 5/5 — I really love it!

*2025-08-01, version 2.18.0*

Makes it easy for me to listen to audio books. I’m dyslexic so I don’t really love reading physical copies of books and having the pressure to read it in time to return it, but with this app it takes all that stress off my shoulders while also expanding my literary palette. I do have some suggestions, It would be great if there was a larger variation of French (audio)books, as of now I find it a little underwhelming and I would love to have more science and non-fiction audiobooks in French. I also agree with other users, it would be really helpful to have notifications instead of emails since a lot of people now and especially my generations don’t check their emails as much. Otherwise super great app!

### 5/5 — Login problem fixed

*2023-05-12, version 2.10.0*

The problem with having to renter login credentials repeatedly has been fixed. The app wasn’t updated so I guess the problem was at the server end.

### 5/5 — Idk why people are giving it bad reviews it’s awesome

*2022-08-27, version 2.8.1*

I’ve read a lot of reviews and most of them are saying bad app or buggy or glitches or very slow. It is kind of slow but not that much it takes 1 second to load the page so that’s not very slow also it’s amazing because you choose a book and put it on hold and then it’s saved for you and tou come borrow it whenever you want

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2012-01-22*

It makes everything easy

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-03-08*

Kudos to the OPL for releasing something like this!

### 4/5 — Good, but…

*2023-09-14, version 2.12.0*

A recent update has taken away info about the series that a book is within. I used to put a hold for the next in the series through the handy ordered list provided, but that has been removed which has me baffled. Sure, feel free to add more relevant info, but don’t remove something so useful. SMH.

### 4/5 — Works great and very convenient

*2021-02-14, version 2.4*

I’ve been using this app for a few months now and it has been working well. Easy interface and can do everything from browsing, ordering and renewing.

### 4/5 — Great new design

*2020-04-30, version 2.3*

It was about time the app was updated. Flows well, clean, and no longer looks like a high school project. Would like to be able to search with filters within the app please.
