I had no problem connecting. Nice simple layout, replicates the look and operation of the original remote (split across 3 screens). ### 3/5 — Needs some more work *2015-02-07, version 2.0.0* This unit needs some work on the CEC control, I have noticed that the TV will turn on when I turn on my oppo player, but when I turn the oppo player off, the TV goes back to free to air. I would like it if when I turned the oppo player off, my TV turned off as well. Noticed that this device cannot seem to pickup on my smb movie server, yet seems to see a range of other devices on my network, please fix in next firmware update. Had the app crash more than once when trying to connect to the oppo player. Seemed to have sorted some of this issue out by turning off power saving mode, so the player still pings on the network. ### 3/5 — Needs keyboard support to be perfect *2014-10-04* Excellent overall user interface! Now the network search just freezes up the whole player!! I wish apple or oppo would allow me to downgrade to the old app which worked great. But that said, the app works fine but the media app is much better with more features. The media app is newer, as I only got it because the media app was iPad only at the time. I had constant freezing and buggy remote issues, no firmware help either. Figured this app would with remote issues...nope it's the crappy unit. You don't need the app because you shouldn't buy an Oppo. This app worked perfectly during setup. I updated the firmware to the oppo and set up my input preferences. I’ve been using the app for about two weeks without any issues. I can’t compare it with the oe physical remote, but I can’t imagine that the physical remote has any advantages over the app. My only concern is that oppo is no longer in the universal player business. I hope this app remains available indefinitely! ### 5/5 — Thanks for adding 64-bit support *2017-11-16* Now I can continue to use this app in iOS 11. ### 5/5 — Updated review to 5 stars *2015-03-04* The app developers added standby network enable so now I can use the remote app exclusively. I had docked them previously because I had to use the remote that came with the system to turn the player on before being able to use the app. It's all good! ### 5/5 — A company with 5 star support *2014-08-13* I was jazzed to see oppo had an app, but bummed out I had the older bpd 95. It's an amazing sounding CD player. Then, I now find they have support for my last gen gear! Thanks Oppo! Not only is your gear great but you take care of customers. It might have a bug still but I only just got a cheap display and had one hang on pandora. After reboot it works fine. ### 5/5 — Much better *2014-06-22* This version is way better than the previous one. Selecting which part of the remote to use is the best improvement. I haven't used the gesture mode much it to give it a fair judgement but it also seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. All of my equipment is connected through a network and this app has worked flawlessly so far! It's just like using the remote that came with my BDP-105. Well done Oppo, as usual! ### 5/5 — Why? *2014-05-04, version 1.1* I agree with the previous reviewer in asking why a a company that built a $1000-plus-plays-anything-with-decoders-on-steroids multimedia player created an app that can't turn the unit on? The only benefit to the app is that it's wifi so if your listening to a zone in your home away from IR LOS, you can change the music a bit. I'd also add that the UI is nearly incomprehensible. It's saving grace is that it can also replicate the actual remote. That part they got right.
