It is closely based on evidence-based NICE Guidelines with safety inbuilt at every step. We have ensured that both our clinician and patient interfaces are simple to use and the system is registered with the MHRA. We have improved our use and management of biometrics and push notifications, and added the possibility of setting local medication reminders.

This release is also in preparation for upgrading to NHS login which will be made available in the coming weeks.

Guideline 4.5.4 : Push Notifications
Our app requires push notifications to deliver critical safety information to patients. OptBP is a regulated medical application designed to support patient health and safety, and timely notifications are an essential part of our clinical safety framework. Without notifications, users would not receive vital reminders or alerts that are necessary for safe use of the app.

Importantly, users are made aware of and explicitly consent to this requirement during onboarding and within the app’s Terms and Conditions. This ensures transparency and user choice while safeguarding patient safety. We respectfully submit that requiring notifications in this context is clinically necessary and in the best interests of patients.
