## What is OptiTrans?

OptiTrans: Ιntegrated multimodal Journey Planner.

OptiTrans is the first integrated multi-modal Journey Planner (or Route Programmer) for Athens. OptiTrans covers all urban public transport, including subway, bus, trolley, tram, suburban railway, taxis and walking. OptiTrans provides optimal solutions for combinatorial use of public transport from a point of departure to a destination and incorporates the use of GPS for automated setting of origin/destination point. It provides a detailed description of all intermediate stops along the route on the map or in text format.

OptiTrans has been developed by the Integrated Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications in N.C.S.R. Demokritos, within the framework of pan-European partnerships.

OptiTrans: Ολοκληρωμένος Προγραμματιστής Διαδρομών.

Το OptiTrans είναι ο πρώτος ολοκληρωμένος προγραμματιστής διαδρομών για την Αθήνα. Καλύπτει Μ.Μ.Ε. της Αθήνας, συμπεριλαμβάνοντας μετρό, λεωφορείο, τρόλλευ, τραμ και προαστειακό. Επίσης, υπολογίζει λύσεις με ταξί ή ακόμα και περπάτημα. Το OptiTrans παρέχει βέλτιστες λύσεις για συνδυασμένη χρήση των αστικών συγκοινωνιών από ένα σημέιο εκκίνησης σε έναν προορισμό. Παρέχει, επίσης, τη δυνατότητα να εντοπίζει τη θέση του χρήστη μέσω GPS και να την θέτει ως σημείο εκκίνησης/προορισμού. Παρέχει μια αναλυτική περιγραφή της υπολογισμένης βέλτιστης διαδρομής με όλες τις ενδιάμεσες στάσεις/μετεπιβιβάσεις και την οπτικοποιεί και επάνω σε χάρτη.
