## What is or it didn't happen?

Or It Didn't Happen is a private photo challenge app for your group — whether that's five friends or a whole community.

Set a theme — "doors near home," "something green," "golden hour" — give it a deadline, and everyone shoots their take. When time's up, the challenge moves to a voting round: pick your favourites, see the highlight reel, archive the result, and start the next one.

That's the whole loop. No followers, no public feed, no algorithm. Just your people, a theme, a deadline, and the photos that came back.

Every group is its own private space, gated by a password the admin shares. Members see each other's submissions, vote anonymously, react, comment, and chat alongside the photos. Keep it invite-only and non-members see nothing.

Features
• Time-boxed photo challenges with deadlines and optional anonymous voting
• Group chat right next to the photos — discuss the theme, share the joke
• Direct messages with people in your groups
• Reactions, comments, and an activity feed across all your groups
• Events — including one-off meet-ups with no group needed — to plan real-life shoots
• Polls to decide the next theme or challenge together
• Achievements to mark the milestones along the way
• Per-group privacy: passwords, admins, your own join rules
• Dark mode, golden-hour warmth, polaroid-style reveals
• Private, ad-free, no tracking — and great on iPad, too

For photographers, photo clubs, friend groups, families, and communities. Bring your camera, your phone, or your old point-and-shoot — anything that takes a picture works.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8 — 2026-08-01

You can now cast a live wall to a TV straight from the app. Open a wall, tap Cast, pick your TV, and the evening's photos fill the big screen while new shots keep arriving.

Also in this update: saving photos and cards to your device is smoother, typing in chat feels steadier, and a handful of small fixes came along too.

### 1.7 — 2026-07-07

Events are open to everyone. Make a one-off event for a wedding or a meetup, no group needed, then share it by link, code or QR.

Challenges and Events now live in one What's on tab, so everything you're in on is in one place.

On iPhone: the text box now stays above the keyboard while you type, and photo notifications show the photo right on your lock screen.

### 1.6 — 2026-06-09

Thanks for shooting with Or It Didn't Happen! This update improves how photos are captured straight from your phone, the in‑app camera and photo picker are smoother and more reliable. A few behind‑the‑scenes fixes round it out.

### 1.5 — 2026-06-03

Your notifications just got more photogenic

When someone likes or comments on your photo, the photo now shows right in the notification — no more guessing which shot they meant.

Plus the usual round of behind-the-scenes polish. Thanks for shooting with us!

### 1.4 — 2026-05-14

small but meaningful:

— tap an oritdidnthappen.com link in a message, email, or anywhere else and you'll land straight in the app instead of bouncing through safari.

— the app now refreshes when you come back to it. open it after lunch and your feed is already current — no swipe needed.

— pull-to-refresh feels snappier. the shutter animation lands sooner and the wait afterwards is shorter.

thanks for being one of the first 300. tell a friend — or don't, i don't want to be greedy.
