Orbio plays 8K VR video on iPhone as it is. ■ Plays 8K VR video 2:1 8K HEVC such as 8192x4096 plays as it is, with no conversion and no downscaling. It makes no difference whether the file is on the phone, on a NAS or in the cloud, and seeking works the same way. ■ Folders too, from the remote Switch to VR mode and the folder list itself splits into a left and right eye view. Going into a folder, going back, choosing a video, playing, seeking and closing can all be done from the remote. Bluetooth remotes and game controllers work too. Orbio learns whichever button you press, so it is not tied to a particular model, and a single press, a double press and a long press can each do something different. A remote with only three buttons is enough to get from the list to playback. ■ No remote? Your head is enough Look down twice and a menu appears. Carry the dot onto an item with your head and hold your gaze to choose. Without opening the menu, holding your gaze on a corner of the screen will skip, play/pause or move to the next video. Both the actions and the dwell time can be changed in Settings. ■ NAS or cloud, nothing copied Connects over SMB, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and Cloudflare R2 and reads only the byte ranges being watched. No copy to the phone, no transcoding server, and it works with no free space on the device. SMB servers on your network are found automatically, so there are no hostnames to type. ■ Files other players cannot open HEVC tagged hev1 turns black in most players. Orbio plays it as it is, with no conversion. ■ How you watch • Headset: split into left and right views, offset by your interpupillary distance and corrected for lens distortion. • Handheld: hold the phone and look around by moving it. • 180°, 360° and fisheye projections; side-by-side and top-bottom layouts. Detected from spherical metadata, file names and the first frame, and switchable at any time during playback. ■ Pick up where you left off • Pin folders you visit often to the library. Bookmark videos and see them together across every connection. • Playback position is remembered, even for files on a server. • When a video ends, the next one in the same folder starts automatically. ■ One purchase Buy once, with nothing further to pay. Carry the dot onto an item with your head and hold it to choose, then look down twice again to close. Hold your gaze on a corner of the screen to skip, play/pause or move to the next video (the actions and the timing can be changed in Settings). Works in headset view while the gyroscope is on. ■ Next video Move to the next video in the same folder from the remote or by gaze. When a video ends, the next one starts automatically (this can be turned off in Settings). ■ Resume Playback picks up where you left off, including for files on a server. ### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-12 Understanding how the app is used Orbio now sends anonymous information about which features are used, so that development is not guesswork. File names, servers you connect to and your viewing history are never sent. Numbers are rounded so that no individual can be identified. The only identifier used is an anonymous one the app generates for itself — never the advertising or device identifier. You can turn this off at any time under Settings, "Send usage statistics". ### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-10 ■ VR mode The library can now be used with the goggles on.
