## What is Orbit Architect?

Orbit Architect allows you to interactively design and explore satellite orbital geometry through the multi-touch interface of the iPad. You can manipulate a satellite orbit using pinch and rotate multi-touch gestures, see the effects on the orbit and its ground track in real-time, and animate the results. As you change the orbit, dynamic diagrams will illuminate the meaning of each orbital parameter. Finally, the results can then be emailed to yourself or to a friend.

## Key features

- Interactive orbital geometry design
- Multi-touch gesture manipulation
- Real-time ground track visualization
- Animated orbit exploration
- Dynamic parameter diagrams
- Email results

### 5/5 — Really nice but

*2020-07-30, version 1.1.3*

You should try and let us use more planets

### 5/5 — A Great app!

*2020-03-17, version 1.1.3*

I love alll the different features you can do to change the orbit and it has all of the cool mathematical terms for you to learn about.

The things I would really add to it would be: (In no specific order):

A money earning option.
A build you satellite option.

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Loved It

*2014-04-12, version 1.0.2*

Smart little App if you know what you are doing with it. I've found quite useful as a simulation tool.

Things I would add to it:

1 - ability to key-in parameters to study real orbits.

2 - multiple satellites to visualise how orbital constellations work together.

If there were two satellites - could visualise the likes of Soyuz or Dragon heading for the ISS.

=====================

Second review (2014 April) after using the App for some time..... It's ideal for standing in front of a class/group when explaining how orbits work.

Movies can be created using software that grabs the iPad screen and they can, in turn, be embedded in PowerPoint.

All in all, a useful tool that retains my original 5* rating.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2012-09-22, version 1.0.2*

A bad app, no real point, and not informative.

### 4/5 — RCroft

*2012-08-01*

Observing the sat's tracking path across the globe's surface is THE cool feature...fascinating. This feature would be even better if the orbital tracing were increased beyond 3. Perhaps 5? GREAT free app!

### 4/5 — Very nice!

*2012-05-21*

Not bad for a simple freebie!

What I'd REALLY like to see is some simple "thrust" types of controls for prograde/antigrade normal/antinormal orbits so you can see the effect that such a maneuver would have on a body - and to teach orbital maneuvering-type of stuff - but that's getting into a more sophisticated program!

### 4/5 — Great little app.

*2012-01-08*

A great little app that helps visualize the orbit (and ground track) of satellites. Keep up the great work.

### 4/5 — Very nice

*2011-06-16*

Would be a 5 star rating if apogee, perigee, and period were displayed.

### 4/5 — Excellent but!

*2011-04-05*

This is definitely an excellent app but it could become more educationally effective if the following feature are added:

1) On either sides of the play icon there should be a step forward and step backward icons to allow for fine tuned stepping up or down.

2) Reverse play should also be added as a feature.

3) Copying/pasting, printing, and ability to save to various file formats should become available.

Thank you for the excellent information the app currently has and I hope my suggestions would be heard and implemented in the order of urgency that I listed above.

### 3/5 — Terrific

*2011-03-24*

How can a free app that is this good get less than five stars? The interface is nearly perfect, enabling the user to see the effects of changing orbital elements in real time.
