## What is Orbit Atlas?

Orbit Atlas shows where more than 500 Earth-observation, navigation, weather and space-station satellites are right now, on a 3D globe you can spin and zoom.

LIVE TRACKING
• Real orbital data, kept up to date automatically; positions are calculated on your iPhone with the SGP4 model
• A day/night Earth, with every satellite drawn at its own altitude
• Tap a satellite to see its orbit line, altitude, speed, period and position
• Layers for space stations (ISS and China's Tiangong), GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, weather, Earth resources, radar (SAR), science missions and Türkiye's satellites
• Search by name or NORAD number

ORBIT ANALYSIS
• Altitude, speed, orbital period and inclination, updated live
• Find the next pass over your location: rise and set time and direction, peak elevation and duration
• Facts and pictures for each satellite: owner, launch date and site, launch vehicle, builders, operators and mass, with picture credits

USAGE GUIDE
Made with remote sensing in mind: which satellites suit which kind of work, from very high-resolution optical (WorldView, Pléiades, Göktürk) and medium-resolution (Landsat, Sentinel-2) to radar and hyperspectral, plus navigation, weather, space stations and science missions, each with typical uses.

CATALOG
Browse the featured satellites with short descriptions, or every tracked satellite with search and group filters.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Works offline with the last downloaded data; data that is getting old is flagged
• Your location is used only on your device, to find passes, and is never sent anywhere
• No accounts, no ads, no tracking
• Orbital data: CelesTrak. Facts and pictures: Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons (credits are in the app)

Pass times use the geometric horizon; whether a satellite can be seen with the eye also depends on sunlight. Not for navigation or safety-critical use.

## Is Orbit Atlas safe?
