## What is Orbit Cockpit?

To use Orbit Cockpit as a driver app, your organisation must have an account with Orbit.

Orbit Cockpit offers accurate navigation via your preferred navigation app, such as Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. Keep track of your schedule with tour information accurate to the second. Effortlessly capture proof of delivery (e.g. photos, signatures, documents).
Orbit – It's time to deliver.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.14.2 — 2026-08-17

- ePOD at Pickup and Delivery: At a pickup or a delivery, the shipper or recipient now signs on the driver's phone themselves: a summary of the shipment's loads, a signature or a documented refusal, and photos where your configuration requires them. Available once ePOD is activated for your organization, and in production only after the Lightyear Layover platform release reaches production. - No Skipping a Required Proof: The missing-proof warning has lost its Skip button. Where a stop requires a photo or a signature, the only way on is to record it, and the stop will not finish without it.
- Confirm Before Marking Unscanned Loads: With the load scanner on, marking all of a stop's loads successful now asks first, naming how many are still unscanned. Confirming goes ahead as before; with nothing unscanned, the tap stays a single tap.
- Email Keyboard on iOS Sign-In: Signing in and resetting a password now open the iOS email keyboard, with autocorrect and capitalization off, so an address is submitted exactly as the driver typed it.
- Long Tour Names Stay Readable: A long tour name no longer pushes the distance over the status icon in the tour list or on an Identify result, and comment timestamps count up properly instead of sticking at "in 0 seconds".

### 1.14.1 — 2026-08-06

- Clearer Loading Scan: Loading headers now name the sender as well as the recipient, tapping a load opens a detail sheet with its full address and load data, one action fails a whole shipment's loads at once, and a matched scan marks the load instantly — no confirm tap.
- Scan Before Proof at Delivery Stops: Arriving at a delivery stop now opens the scanner straight away, and the required signature or photo is requested right after scanning. Drivers no longer dismiss a proof prompt to reach the scanner, and never leave a stop without its proof.
- Scans Survive Leaving a Tour: In-progress load marks, including failure reasons, now survive leaving and re-entering a tour instead of resetting to zero. A failed or offline submission keeps them for a retry.
- Login in the Driver's Language: Sign-in, password recovery and their error messages now follow the device language from the very first screen instead of defaulting to English, and reset to it after each sign-out on shared devices.
- Confirm Carrier Terms Before Accepting: Offers that carry terms statements now show a confirmation checkbox for each one. Accept and bid stay disabled until every statement is confirmed, while declining remains available at any time.
- Related Comments on a Tour: Drivers now see carrier-visible comments from a tour's shipments and orders in the same feed, each marked with a chip naming its source. Comments pulled in this way are read-only.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-07-18

- Identify Any Package Barcode: Identify now reads any label on the package: a shipper's NVE/SSCC, a load reference, or a code stored on the load. Scan it and Identify shows the load and its tour, with no Orbit QR code needed.
- Tour Comments: Drivers read and post comments on a tour, with a rich editor, emoji reactions, and threaded replies. The whole conversation stays on the tour instead of across calls and messages. It goes live once Comments reaches the platform in the upcoming release.
- Fair Start on Offers: Every carrier gets an equal shot at a new offer. While the fair-start window is open, a live countdown shows when Accept and Bid unlock, so nobody can grab the job first. Carriers can still decline at any time. It becomes available once Fair Start is enabled across the platform in the upcoming release.
- Reliable Background GPS on Android: The app keeps sending location even after Android suspends or kills it in the background, so location tracking no longer cuts out between stops on long tours. Drivers who grant location access no longer land on the system settings screen by mistake.
- Per-Recipient Proof at Combined Stops: At a combined dropoff, drivers capture one proof per recipient, each tagged with its company name. Before, a single proof covered the whole stop.
- Localized Combined-Stop Labels: Combined-stop labels now appear in the driver's own language instead of English, and show whether the stop is a combined pickup or dropoff.

### 1.13.1 — 2026-07-08

- Significant Performance Improvements: The app is significantly faster and smoother throughout — tour lists, tour details, the inbox, and live updates all respond noticeably quicker, even with hundreds of tours. Startup is more reliable too: a proper loading screen replaces the blank splash, and a recovery screen with retry appears if data can't be loaded.
- Geo-Stamped Proof Capture: Signatures and photos captured in Cockpit now automatically record the driver's GPS location and accuracy when available, without ever blocking or delaying capture.
- Waste Data Visibility: AVV/EWC code, hazardous classification, and Basel code now appear for each load, alongside a warning when the assigned carrier lacks the required waste-transport qualification.
- German Translation Fixes: German-speaking drivers now see accurate German labels for tour and delivery statuses, including starting and stopping a tour, instead of English text that previously appeared by mistake.

### 1.13.0 — 2026-06-02

- Dangerous Goods Visibility: Dangerous-goods (ADR) status and points now appear for each load and for the whole tour, with a clear "Full ADR required" flag for the strictest category and an alert when details are incomplete so drivers can flag it with dispatch.
- Smarter Tour Change Banners: Drivers now see a tour-change banner only for running tours they are personally assigned to, so they no longer get alerts about other drivers' tours from the same carrier.
- Smoother Tours List: The tours list and 3D load plan now render more smoothly.
