## What is Orbit?

Orbit is a gentle, private way to stay close to the people who matter.

Every contact becomes a planet in your personal solar system. You're the sun. The closer a friend orbits, the more often you want to catch up. Watch them drift when life gets busy, and glow again when you reach out.

No accounts. No ads. No analytics. Private sync through your iCloud.

WHY ORBIT

The people who drift out of your life don't leave in one big moment — they fade. A missed text. A postponed coffee. A "we should catch up soon" that stretches into a year. Orbit is the quiet infrastructure around your friendships. It doesn't replace them. It just makes sure the ones you care about stay visible.

HOW IT WORKS

• Add the people you want to stay close to — by hand or from your Contacts
• Set how often you'd ideally catch up — weekly for best friends, monthly for old uni mates, quarterly for family you don't see enough
• Log meetings, calls, and texts with a tap. Orbit tracks the rest
• Glance at your solar system any time to see who's healthy (green), drifting (amber), or overdue (red)

FEATURES

• A beautiful, animated solar system of your closest people
• Health-based colours that update in real time as your relationships breathe
• Long-Distance mode that rewards calls and texts differently from in-person meetings
• Meeting diary with date, photo, location, and notes
• Home-screen widgets that show who needs attention — right from your lock screen
• Gentle, local notifications — never spammy
• Comets for casual encounters and people you want to know better
• Constellations (tags) to group friends by context: family, work, travel, gym
• Stats and a full diary of every interaction
• Supports both light and dark mode
• Private iCloud sync across your Apple devices

PRIVACY THAT ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING

Orbit has no developer-operated backend. No user accounts. No analytics, crash reporters, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Your relationships, notes, and photos stay on your devices and sync through your private iCloud container. Beyond Tomorrow Studios cannot access them.

NOT FOR MARKETERS, NOT FOR ADVERTISERS, NOT FOR CRM

Orbit isn't a contact manager or a sales tool. It's for the twelve people whose birthday you actually want to remember. For the friend whose life changed while you weren't paying attention. For the grandparent you mean to call.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-04

Orbit 2.1.1 — a tune-up.

• Busy orbits arrange themselves properly again — no more pile-ups. Everyone sits further apart, the sun takes its rightful place at the centre, and a name is never hidden behind the planet next door.
• Cards stay open when you touch them.
• The place field no longer hides behind the keyboard.
• Tap "MET" when you log a catch-up to switch it to CALLED or TEXTED.
• Got a date wrong? Re-date any catch-up from the diary — or tap a past day in the calendar and add a memory straight onto it.
• Notes take paragraph breaks now, and Report a Bug reaches us again.

Thank you to everyone who wrote in — please keep it coming.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-01

Orbit 2.1 — your people, in plain words.

This update rethinks how Orbit talks to you. Numbers you had to decode are now sentences you can read at a glance.

• A friendlier card. Open someone and it just says it: "Due in 4 days", "Say hello", "3 days overdue" — with when you last caught up and your rhythm spelled out underneath.
• Evergreen people. Partners, housemates, family you see every day — mark them evergreen and they'll never show as overdue. They're just with you.
• A rebuilt add-friend flow. Four little steps, including a new one: when did you last catch up, and where? That place becomes their first memory in your diary.
• Photos where they belong. Photos you take in Orbit now also save to your camera roll, and diary photos open full-size with a tap.
• A clearer stats page. A simple histogram shows where everyone sits — fresh, on rhythm, drifting, due — and you can tap a band to see who's in it.
• Widgets joined the redesign. Light and dark, matching the app's look, showing who needs you.
• Warmer notifications, at the hour you choose.
• Longer rhythms (up to a year) unlock when you need them, orbit paths no longer overlap, and a big round of polish throughout.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-21

Orbit 2.0 is a complete redesign — the biggest update we've ever shipped.

• TWO NEW LOOKS — Meet Aurora, a warm porcelain daylight theme, and Eclipse, its deep-night twin. Pick your sky when you first open the app and switch any time.

• A LIVING ORBIT — Planets are bigger, glow in a continuous colour ramp from fresh green to long-overdue red, and every planet carries its name.

• THE LIST, REIMAGINED — Everyone in your orbit as a stack of colour-bloom cards. The longer it's been, the deeper the colour runs.

• LOG A CATCH-UP, MAKE A MEMORY — The new full-screen logger builds your memory as you type: add a photo and it becomes the memory's cover, write the place (with suggestions from Apple Maps), done in three taps.

• A REAL DIARY — Your catch-ups become a scrapbook: month-by-month pages, colour-coded entries, full-bleed photos, and a new calendar view showing every day you saw your people.

• STATS THAT MEAN SOMETHING — See your whole orbit's health on one ramp, your weekly rhythm, your most-seen friend, and your year in colour.

• PRIVATE ICLOUD SYNC — Relationships, memories, settings, and photos now stay in sync across your Apple devices through your private iCloud.

Plus: catch-up reminders on saving, a smarter menu, and dozens of fixes. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Just you and your people.
