### 1/5 — Never connects to WiFi

*2018-12-01, version 1.2.2*

Waited a year to get this.. looks great and makes great coffee, but will not connect to WiFi.. I have tried multiple times on multiple devices.. very disappointed.

### 1/5 — WiFi issues

*2018-11-30, version 1.2.2*

Recent app update took down my WiFi connection...App is brutual, looks like an elementary class designed it.

### 1/5 — Don’t walk away... RUN!

*2018-11-17*

Worked with support several times but could never get the app to connect. Coffee maker works with a default setting and makes great coffee though.

I ran about 5lbs of beans through it and the grinder burned out. Customer support has not bothered to respond since.

By the way, it took 1 1/2 years from the time I ordered it until I received it.

### 1/5 — Does Not Work - zero stars

*2018-11-06, version 1.2.1*

Timer does not work, after much correspondence with their support team. Sending the unit back for a refund has been a disaster as well.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work, huge fail

*2018-10-23*

This is obviously a very low quality app. When you skimp on development costs, this is what you get- an app that won’t let you register an account. And if it finally does, the setup process doesn’t work. I feel sorry for you if this company took your money like it did mine... throwing my brewer in the trash now :(

### 1/5 — Great coffee but...

*2018-10-08*

Finally received mine after 12 months of waiting. Looks cool. Connecting all the parts wasn’t that tough. The App is completely USELESS!! The Orrenda WiFi does NOT show up in the iOS WiFi network that is needed to set it up so I hope you like the default setting for the coffee cause that’s all you’re going to get. Also, it’s MESSY. The grounds spray everywhere and leak out of various places below the grinder. Form definitely beat out function but that’s what you get with a prototype. The coffee that came out was great though so at least it works, sorta.

### 1/5 — App keeps crashing

*2018-10-06, version 1.2.1*

Tough to connect to the device. Need to keep unplugging the machine to restart. My app keeps crashing on my iPhone X and now I can’t even change any recipes. Would be faster to just do pour over with my Hario

### 1/5 — Piece of crap. 0 stars

*2018-10-03, version 1.2.1*

Received my unit in Sept 2018 after waiting nearly a year and a half. Total piece of crap. Won’t connect. Are there grounds for a class action lawsuit? How can they continue to take orders????

### 1/5 — GARBAGE

*2018-09-26*

I have never been so disappointed in a product. I waited 19 months to receive the machine only to have the app EPICLY fail. as in the app is USELESS. I have to re-sign up and/or delete and reinstall and reconnect wifi literally EVERY TIME I want to make a cup of coffee. I will be contacting the better business bureau and my credit card company for a refund bc the company is completely inept at helping with the machine or app operation.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2018-09-21, version 1.2.1*

Finally got the machine (yeah!), downloaded the app to set up Wifi. Unfortunately, this app does not proceed beyond the obligatory ‘connect to Orenda-XXXX’ screen (booo!). So there is no way to actually use this machine beyond the ONE default recipe making me wonder what the actual purpose of this app serves beyond angering backers of this product.

### 1/5 — App not working at all

*2018-09-12, version 1.2.1*

Type in email and password and it just stays on the same screen after tapping sign in.

### 1/5 — I want this to work

*2018-09-05, version 1.2.1*

I really want this coffee machine to work. I keep trying to understand it but it’s very inconsistent. I have French press/Chemex/V60/Aero press....etc at home so I know what I’m doing. I’ve reached out to the support team as well with no response. This machine could be great but it is still so rough around the edges.

### 1/5 — Complete Nonsense

*2021-07-03*

My unit is now in the garbage can. Who makes a coffee machine that is borderline useless unless you are holding your phone w the app open. The app is buggy, won’t confirm ownership, won’t hook the unit up to wifi. Useless. The unit is a design nightmare as well. Not at all functional for every day use. Seems to be made out of spare parts from a Chinese coffee factory. Takes too long to brew. Too much maintenance. Just a fail. One use, in the garbage.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect

*2019-05-17*

When I first got the machine, the app worked perfectly. Then one day, I couldn’t connect using the app on my iPhone. There appears to be revised app at App Store (ver1.4). However, when I try to download it, I get Vers 1.0 which I’ve had all along. Without the app working you can only use presets on the machine and you can’t adjust anything! Now when I try to set up the app, directions say turn on machine, set WiFi to blue, which I do, then when I go to next screen a warning comes up that says “you must be a registered owner to use this app” I look at the app and I am logged on! Can’t get past that warning. So, I’m not sure what going on with the app.
Very disappointing
Registered owner

### 1/5 — Useless

*2019-02-26, version 1.2.6*

I can’t even login. I have tried everything. Does not work on IOS. Machine itself doesn’t work without app for me either. I have been asking for a refund forever and nothing. If anyone is starting a lawsuit please count me in.

### 1/5 — What happened?!

*2019-02-17, version 1.2.6*

The coffee maker never connects to WiFi and thus one is not able to use the coffee machine.
It has so muck potential
The makers don’t care to fix it cause they already got their money and skipped town only to leave gullible people with a fancy looking coffee maker that doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. Period.

*2019-01-21, version 1.2.6*

Every time I try to use it it says I’m not connected to device. So I try to set up WiFi just to have the app tell me I need to be logged in... which I am already. N way to get past it. No way to connect to device. Absolutely worthless app.

### 1/5 — Worst app in history

*2019-01-17, version 1.2.6*

I haven’t been able to connect via WiFi in weeks and no one from the company will respond to my emails. Sooo frustrated to spend this much money and have no control over the machine because you only have that via an app that never works!

### 1/5 — FRAUD

*2019-01-04, version 1.2.4*

The Orenda coffee brewer does not work, period. The brewer doesn’t work. The App doesn’t work. Further, the company doesn’t offer support or refund for the dysfunctional product they sell. Do not buy. Do not download. These people are corrupt thieves.

### 1/5 — Machine leaks water everywhere

*2019-01-03, version 1.2.4*

Don’t expect any warranty. The machine gets made and shipped from China. There is no US presence. They completely ignore you and after more than 6 months of complaining I still have a very expensive paperweight that leaks water and sprays coffee all over the kitchen and no refund in sight.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2018-12-22*

Purchased the machine and for 1 month worked great. Now I had to put the machine to bed in its box and replace it with a Mr. Coffee (at least I have coffee!). 2 issues: 1) cannot sign into app since updated to 12.0. It gives me an asterisk that motions for a second and then no sign in after multiple trials. Just the sign-in screen starring at me 2) cannot get manual mode to even work any more- I hit the brew button and hear a click and then NOTHING. Sent video and emailed Orenda multiple times and no solution even to the app. I would be fine just using it as a manual single brew machine without the app but can’t. Shame on this product and business.

### 1/5 — WiFi issues

*2018-12-13, version 1.2.4*

Used to connect and work great. Now it no longer does and the original iOS connection issues are still there.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Delicious!

*2018-09-24*

We had a little trouble getting it up and going... but once we did! It makes delicious coffee. And it’s so much fun to mess around with the different settings to find out perfect cup. Did we have to wait way longer then I would have liked to get the machine? Yes. But what do you expect with a start up? Whenever you give money to a start up, it’s a gamble. But they came through! Are there still some bugs with the app? Sure. But again... it’s all new. I look forward to their updates and enjoying this machine for years to come.

### 4/5 — Manual needs revision, but mine’s working

*2018-10-06*

The app had a problem with product ownership, but somehow gave me the option to claim it and now it’s working just fine. The manual could be more clear about all the included parts, have a “before first brew” section that directs you to the cleaning cycle first, and address all app anomalies.

### 3/5 — Can’t wait for 2.0

*2018-10-03*

I agree in part with the previous reviewer. I would give the appliance a 4 star because nothing is perfect and it has room for improvement. Coffee flavor is excellent and for that I believe this product has huge potential.
Now to the app. Definitely the weakest part of the device. The app is awkward and difficult to navigate. Setting the alarm is easy but I can’t trouble shoot why it didn’t turn in when it was supposed to; I’d have to delete the alarm and add it back.
You have the ability to create a recipe with grams of coffee, volume and temperature of water, and brew time. Future adjustments are done by selecting a qualitative feature bitterness, strength, kick. I get why they do that and I’m not entirely apposed so I wouldn’t ding them for that but it would be nice to be able to see what your recipe was.
I am confused about the custom and the original French press functionality since the device functioned differently. In the former case it worked like a percolator recycling the brewed coffee back over the grounds where as in the custom French press it steeped with the grounds then served it.
I also have a part left over after assembly and there Is no documentation what it is. I suspect it’s a coffee scoop.
Documentation was uncomplicated which although helpful I would like to see more. Perhaps it’s on the web site under faq’s.

### 3/5 — Works ok. I wish there were more functionality

*2018-08-25*

After a little difficulty I got my app and coffeemaker running. It’s ok. Coffee is good and the app is learning.

The big thing I wish the app had were controls on the volume of coffee. I usually have to make two cups to fill my mug. It would be nicer to have an adjustable volume.

### 3/5 — So Sad!!!

*2018-05-05*

It’s just plain sad! We waited so long, and patiently through all the delays to the product launch, over 2 years in fact. When we finally did get the machine, still no app. 2 more months of waiting, checking daily, because updates were very few and far between, and then we get the app, and...

It is a COMPLETE FAIL! Does’t work at all!

Edit - After waiting a couple days and trying again, the app login and setup suddenly worked (did nothing differently, so must have been a server issue on their end).

The app works. Barely. Super buggy, needs tons of improvements, but, I can now actually brew a decent cup.

1st update, please allow me to add more water. 350 grams is too small, half of a normal size cup.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your great feedback, Prana!

### 2/5 — Can’t connect

*2019-01-22, version 1.2.6*

When trying to connect to the coffee’s wi-fi network, it says I have to be logged into an Orenda account, even though I’m already logged in to my account. So I can’t brew from the app, only by pressing the brew icon on the machine.

### 2/5 — No way to see what goes into the recipe

*2018-10-15*

Why doesn’t this app allow you to actually see what goes into the recipe, and more importantly whether I have already modified it? Each time you go into the recipe, even after you’ve modified it, it looks like it’s the original one. Also, is there a way to go back to the original recipe? Really frustrating

### 2/5 — Fix your App now please!

*2018-10-01*

I waited over a year to get my coffee machine, it finally came last week. I am fairly text savvy and I can’t get it to connect to the app so I can use the machine! I contacted support they told me to reset my router and reinstall the app it still doesn’t work. This is ludicrous for this to be happening. Please fix this ASAP!!!!!

### 2/5 — App use useless

*2018-09-08*

Finally received my brewer after 18 months. Like everyone else I’m finding the app useless. It does nothing it advertises. Fortunately I was able to get it connected and setup but whenever I change a brew recipe and save, the modification is not saved. So no way to control the brew. Basically just in and off

### 2/5 — Falls short

*2018-05-19*

For people needing to connect and don’t have a blue WiFi light, hold the WiFi indicator for about 5 seconds, it should change. The manual is laid out poorly and the directions are not connected
In a logical manner. There are directions you need in the back but nothing refers you to them. Everything is put together as if they were limited to a character count like a tweet. This looks nice and simple, but for a new style of machine you need more direction and explanation.

So much potential here! The app lets you pick all of the right components for a good cup. The bad thing is when you put in what you want and try it, if you want to tweak it a little bit you only have 3 options. The “kick” , bitterness and strength. If you want to change the temp a touch or just the brew time, or amount of coffee you have to make a new recipe and hope you remember what you originally put.

The app disconnects from the maker often but the app says “status normal”. For some reason when you make a cup manually using the button for French press it works. When you remotely use the app it brews in the style of pour over even though it is using a French press recipe.
Also there are issues with having different people in your house with their own phones.

I want this to work well so badly but just can’t make it. I want to show this off to my friends and family but can’t. I can’t even trust the alarm function to work since the maker brews the wrong style of done remotely.
