### 4/5 — Love

*2026-03-02, version 3.2*

Nice app to practice

### 4/5 — Good for students

*2026-01-11, version 3.2*

Clearly explains how to name organic compounds and has good quizzes for each topic, just wish there were more questions to offer more practice. Well made though and easy to use.

### 4/5 — Pretty fun

*2025-11-11, version 3.2*

No way to do iso or turt substituents

### 4/5 — Good for some quick revision

*2025-04-22, version 3.2*

Great practice, well explained, better than other nomenclature apps I’ve tried but quizzes are very short and there’s only 1 per functional group/family :/

### 4/5 — Some of my answers were right lol

*2024-08-05, version 3.2*

It’s ok

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2024-06-29, version 3.2*

I highly recommend 👌

### 5/5 — Good app to study chemistry

*2024-05-09, version 3.2*

I have my HS chem regents coming up (USA) and I'm using this to study. I do wish it was able to tell me how to fix it, but for now, just telling me what I got wrong and right is great. 4.5/5

### 4/5 — Great app for beginners

*2024-05-06, version 3.2*

I started learning OChem about a month ago and this app has greatly helped me understand how and why structures are created the way they are

### 5/5 — Love this app

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2023-12-22, version 3.2*

Helpful and user friendly UI

### 5/5 — Cant put it down

*2023-12-01, version 3.2*

The lessons are brief. I think prior knowledge and using the app as a secondary studying tool it is a great way to practice nomenclature as well as to become for familiar with a variety of different functional groups. It is fun and intuitive to use. I purchased extra material (there are two expansions currently priced at $1.99 each) I am finding them well worth the cost as they include more detailed and complicated material than the free base material. Overall I would recommend using the app as a fun study tool/refresher.

### 5/5 — A level

*2023-11-22, version 3.2*

Great for practicing nomenclature for a level chemistry

### 5/5 — I love it

*2023-11-04, version 3.2*

It’s a really nice app , and it’s nice the way it approaches it step by step

### 5/5 — Down Right Helpful

*2023-10-17, version 3.2*

This app has helped me with all my Ochem exams, and the naming system is super accurate

### 5/5 — Very helpful for helping me study

*2023-10-02, version 3.2*

I have a test today and this app makes it easy and convenient to study

### 5/5 — Organic Student

*2023-09-23, version 3.2*

App is very helpful!!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2023-08-12, version 3.2*

I’ve been using this app to learn and practice nomenclature since 2017 when I was at technical college. I am now at university, still learning and assisting other students. Thank you!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not IUPAC

*2019-10-13, version 3.2*

The names are not IUPAC. 2-pentanone instead of pentan-2-one for that ketone. Not good for school students as they might get confused.

### 2/5 — You can do better

*2020-07-19, version 3.2*

Not very stimulating. Could go into more depth with particular naming of molecules rather than ‘substituted hexane.’ I was excited to find an app where I can practice naming organic compounds but had to delete because it was so bad.

### 2/5 — Buttons don't work

*2016-09-30, version 1.1*

The step by step is really useful but there's lots of bugs - my submit button on the quiz topics page doesn't work. Then there's only around 4 questions per topic. Could use more questions and less bugs!

### 3/5 — Okay but doesn’t include isomers like isopropyl

*2025-06-14, version 3.2*

Title

### 3/5 — Good Start

*2024-12-16, version 3.2*

Very limited functional groups and only three questions per quiz, but if they make it 10-100 times more material it could be useful.

### 3/5 — It’s cool

*2022-10-31, version 3.2*

It’s cool. It would be better if it had more practice pertaining to organic chem

### 3/5 — Great but needs stereochemistry

*2022-07-13, version 3.2*

Does have what is arguably the hardest thing ti study and add to a name. It’s hard to remember without studying it

Needs S/R and E/Z

### 3/5 — No iso, tert, sec

*2021-06-06, version 3.2*

Okay practice but I don’t like the naming of branched subs ... in class we learn them as iso, tert and sec depending on how it branches off.

### 3/5 — Fun and good but could be tweaked to be better.

*2021-02-21, version 3.2*

I understand you may have wanted to aim for intuitive learning and as practice after going through the basic rules, and yet I still feel that there is two small adjustments that could make it better. First, a display of the rule or clarification for the error that cost me points. Secondly the addition of a combination of animation and sound for a perfect score, and another for a very good job, and an incentive to try again if just ok or wrong, like a second chance would make it better.

### 3/5 — Eeehhhh

*2020-09-30*

Very simple app, does little explaining, you have know how to name organic molecules before using this app. It doesn’t really teach you. This is more for practice. It’s an okay app for being an Organic Chemistry app. I’ll still give it 5 stars but it needs a lot of improvements.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — very helpful!

*2026-02-05, version 3.2*

10/10

### 5/5 — Cute and simple

*2025-10-29, version 3.2*

I like this app it helps me so much with o chem. And even with functional groups a bit, it’s simple nothing fancy or extravagant. I do which it had a feature for “explain” that would explain it to you when u get it wrong so u can understand it, but i guess I can just google that. Regardless i love this app

### 5/5 — Great practice

*2025-09-17, version 3.2*

Fun and quick turnaround for learning

### 5/5 — good resource

*2025-09-15, version 3.2*

it’s quite good for a free app that doesn’t beg you for subscriptions and actually teaches you clearly

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-07-05, version 3.2*

Very educational and the app is easy to use.

### 5/5 — Love it
