I like this game other than that. Don’t love that you don’t get to choose when your train (penny) is in or out on your turn but other than that it’s a good game. I have to close the game, and when I restart it, it does go back to the same place in the game. UPDATE: I can send pics of my game settings if you advise where I should send them. **Developer response:** I would love to fix this. But first, I have to see it freeze or crash and I have not been able to do that. I've played this game on numerous devices and simulators, but I can't make it fail. Maybe there is some special set of options and rules or some sequence of events that I'm not trying. My only complaint is it locks up every so many turns and it doesn’t allow the play of some domino combos. This app is really great HOWEVER I am consistently having to close out the app and re-open to make a move. It has happened on numerous occasions in various locations so it’s not my WiFi. ### 2/5 — Freezes constantly *2026-03-25* Except for the fact that it freezes during at least every other game, and I have to close it and reopen it, it is a well designed game. When I close it and reopen it, I don’t lose my place, it continues within the next move (or waits for me if it is my move). Unfortunately, it’s not just freezing now, it’s also not allowing me to play some dominoes or it will play the domino incorrectly when I double click on it and then freeze and then put the domino back on the bottom line. It’s very frustrating If it worked, it would be a great game. ### 4/5 — The best Mexican Train *2026-03-19* This is by far the best Mexican Train app. I appreciate that data is not collected. I agree with some of the other reviews that the game is freezing, which it did not do before. You apparently fixed the issue that the game simply closed on us, unfortunately it resulted in this freezing. At least with the freezing we can close the app and return later to the same place. I play it often myself. I would give it a 5 star rating except for the issue I’ve described below. I am only having one problem with it, and would love it if it could be fixed. After several weeks to months of play, the game appears to freeze up mid game and automatically shuts down. When you reopen the game, the exact same game that just shut down opens. Each time this has happened, after I restart play it shuts down at the exact same point in the game where it shut down previously. No matter how many times you try to restart where you left off, it shuts down again at the exact same point in play. The only way I have found to resolve the issue is to completely remove the app from my device and the download it again. This happens again and again after a few weeks to a month or so. If I didn’t like this particular app so much, I would definitely NOT go to the trouble to remove it and then re-download it. I would not even go to the trouble of writing this all down hoping for a fix, but it really is a great app for Mexican Train. Could someone PLEASE check this bug and fix it??? PRETTY PLEASE??? Thank you! ### 3/5 — App crashes *2026-01-25, version 1.6* I have deleted and redownloaded the app twice due to the app crashing in the middle of a round. When it crashes, the app will not work unless I delete it and re-download it.
