Couldn't recommend enough, it's so perfect with absolutely every feature you could ask for - all for free!!! So much customisation from themes, to folders to pre-made sets of tools/pencils etc it's just so good.

I really love this app. It’s fast, simple, and very effective for note-taking. It has quickly become one of my favorite apps.

However, there is a serious keyboard issue on iPad that affects multiple features. When I try to set a password for a folder or a note, the keyboard flashes and disappears every time, making it impossible to type a password.

The same problem sometimes happens inside a document, especially in the small text box, I often can’t edit the first word of a line. The “Go to pages” option also has the same keyboard issue.

Apart from these problems, the app is awesome. 
I hope these issues can be fixed in a future update. Thank you for your hard work.

The app is absolutely amazing for a free platform. There’s not much to want. The only thing I would suggest fixing is the app’s sensitivity to Apple Pen commands, and adding more color options for the writing tools, like how you can pick various colors for the text option. Thank you for such a wonderful app!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. At present, you can modify any color. You only need to double-click the color plate to adjust your favorite color. You can also choose the color on the control box of the text.

Only thing I can't do is put it on google drive which I wish I could do

总体上做的很不错。 手写功能相当好。是我用过的各种免费笔记app中最好的。 1. brush的使用方式有点怪，笔画得越快线条越粗。不是应该越慢或者越用力越粗吗？ 2. 对笔刷的颜色做细微调整后，常常会自动回到它自己的颜色设定。 3. app似乎不支持markdown格式？那么各种数学，物理公式就只能手写或者用图片，有时候不够美观。希望以后能支持markdown格式。

I had to stop using free notes because it’s become another subscription locked app that’s overrun with unnecessary ai - i really appreciate how this app is literally just what it says it is with no sneaky in-app purchases. 
It’s so refreshing especially since it feels like these days nothing is free and everything is so overcomplicated just for the sake of making money.

Its so easy to understand and use - the interface is simple and effective, you can import pdfs easily to edit, and all the settings are customisable; like scrolling direction and stylus vs finger.

This app is perfect for portable studying and means you don’t have to print off hundreds of past papers! 
I 100% recommend 

(I never usually leave reviews but I was so happy to find something actually free and useable that I had to!)

So I switched to this app right after the other app ‘Collanotes” started crashing. They said they were gonna fix it but the update hasn’t come. And my exam is in less than few days so I can’t have that disadvantage. With that being said OrigNotes is amazing so far. My only complain is that your “dark color” does not work properly. For example, I used you dark paper to write paragraphs with white pen. But when I share my pdf, my friends aren’t able to see my paragraphs because apparently, dark background just becomes white when I share it on my text message. So o encourage that you guys fix that. And thank you for this amazing app!

### 1/5 — App accessed my private PDFs that were elsewhere on my iPad, not linked to this app.

I did NOT agree to the privacy policy that popped up- it had links to 3rd party SDKs entirely in Chinese for example (how can I agree to something I can’t read?) BUT when I went to DELETE the app immediately after reviewing these policies,  it instead showed a preview of all my documents in the app. Somehow without granting any permission whatsoever, the app read my private PDFs that I have generated elsewhere on my iPad, from years ago, and placed them within their app. I never gave access to any of my data through this app, because after I read their privacy policy I did NOT AGREE, and I immediately took steps to remove the app from my device. This serves as notice that this developer/company must remove and delete any data gleaned or viewed through the installation and opening of this app, as I did NOT agree to the privacy policy and I did NOT grant permission for that data to be used.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We strictly adhere to our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. Regarding third-party SDK agreements: these are provided by the third-party platforms themselves and cannot be modified by us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Concerning the ability for OrigNotes to access PDF files: this functionality is part of Apple's system rules. If an app can open PDF files, a long-press on it within the system may trigger a quick action menu to help users select PDFs. This is a system-level feature provided by Apple, not a function built into our app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your support. Using the Lasso tool, after circling the content, you can select a screenshot in the menu pop-up window. You can also double-click the Lasso tool to set whether the screenshot is a rectangle or a free form shape

For some reason the stuff i write on my PDF files aren’t showing up when I try to share the file. I thought it was because I didn’t update the app,  it even after it still isn’t showing up. Will change rated when fixed

Hello, I’ve recently downloaded the app, and I’ve been enjoying using it for storyboarding and note-taking tasks. I do have a a few suggestion for new features and improvements. Is there a way to contact you so that I can explain these suggestions to you?

Edit: I’ve been using this app for a couple of weeks. I still love it, but there are a lot of bugs present in it. I’m just gonna paste in the list of bugs and requested features. I wish I could post images of what I’m experiencing on this review.
A drawing that’s been copied needs remain available for until I copy something else, not just for one time. (Explanation: The app removes the ability to paste after only pasting once)
Pencil strokes keeps randomly changing from small to big for no reason.
Allow us to rotate the page using our fingers when sketching on whiteboard or notebook for better drawing experience.
Issues where undoing a stroke also undos an erased stroke after only pressing once.
Allow us to directly upload photos from our photo library instead of on the stickers tab
Selecting a single stroke selects other strokes.
Also, there’s a whiteboard I’ve made, and every time I try to export it as pdf, it crashes. I followed the instructions to reduce the chances of it crashing, including lowering the threshold, as well as deleting and reinstalling the app. However, it has continued crashing. The whiteboard is ~ 250MB, just to let you know. Could you please help me with this?

I’ve been looking for a free note taking app and this is the best one so far. The draft note is huge and it’s basically an infinite canvas. The experience is excellent. I’m only waiting for it to become compatible with the squeeze gesture.

This app is incredible! The fact that it has no in app purchases for the features it contains is such a blessing. As a college student, I tell all of my friends and peers about this app. It is better than GoodNotes and Notability because there are no purchases required or limits within the app. I also enjoy the future version section where you can see what the developers are working on to further enhance the app. So simple, useful, and handy, I cannot thank the developers enough! ✨

Sometimes, when I’m writing a paragraph, I have to copy that paragraph, and then paste it. Can you guys add a “duplication” feature where it allows you to duplicate handwritten text or pictures without having to take two steps? Other than this app is an amazing note app. I will continue to use it but I just halve that small suggestion.

We already support duplication / copy functions in the app.
To copy an entire note: tap the note name, then select Copy Note in the pop-up menu.
To copy a single page: go to the thumbnail view, tap the page number to copy the whole page. You can also copy multiple pages in batch and paste them anywhere you want.
To copy individual elements on the canvas: switch to the lasso tool, select the content you want to copy, choose Copy from the menu, then long-press anywhere on the canvas to paste.
To copy text from a PDF: open the toolbox, enter viewing mode, then long-press the PDF text to copy it.

I really do love it, it’s practically a perfect notes app. It’s still a little buggy but it’s not bad. I do however wish there were more types of pens or materials to write with, like an airbrush or like pastels (low-key), but that’s just a want. Oh, and washi tape. I wish there was that, but I’m pretty sure I could definitely manage to make that on my own, being that this app has allowed me to be very customizeable within it. But there is this weird glitch where it zooms in on itself and the like notebooks themselves have doubled for some reason after the update.
