A few slight usability issues (dragging to select a time span, trying to get back to the full view after zooming in on a planet), but the beauty of this app more than makes up for them. But I was having trouble wrapping my head around the relative position of all of these celestial bodies as they rotate and orbit. This app shows it all beautifully!! I love the visual of the instrument, the music, everything. If you are looking for an app that gives you an accurate representation of where the planets are in their orbit around the sun, than this is not the app for you. This app gives you a general idea for where the planets are but it's off. I think this app could be perfect if some minor dev work was done to position the planets better. Overall 3-5 stars for now, if the positions got re worked it would be a 5-5 ### 5/5 — This... *2014-07-02, version 1.010* The effort that went into this application makes it beyond the 1.99 it's worth. Very good. I was mesmerized. ### 5/5 — Beautiful *2014-06-17* This app really is lovely, and it's become one of my favorites ever since I discovered it. The orrery presentation is unique, reminiscent of a mildly steampunk aesthetic. My favorite feature is the ability to "visit" planets, where the perspective changes to simulate a view of the horizon on an alien world. There is substance in addition to the style - data on the different planets is readily available, in addition to a brief rundown of what exactly makes an orrery unique. That being said, I find this app is more relaxing eye-candy than learning aid, but it excels over other apps in that department. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Do not install this version *2017-09-22* Do not install this version on 6s with iOS 11, it crashes every time. **Developer response:** Please try to de-&reinstall the App, it will run fine on 6s. ### 1/5 — Simply Beautiful. PLEASE KEEP IT ALIVE. *2017-05-19* Absolutely lovely visuals. Such a thoughtful and educational app. As another reviewer noted, it's what the iPad was made for. The warnings however, keep coming. The next iOS upgrade will most unfortunately antiquate your tremendous resource. You can drag around the orrery, but when you release your finger it just keeps going. The date selection isn’t working, Venus and other planet cycles aren’t working as they move in accordance but it just spins in one location...
