It is based on the Julian calendar, which was introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BC and is currently 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar. The Orthodox calendar has different dates for Easter and other religious holidays, which are based on the liturgical calendar. It is an important part of the religious tradition and culture of the Eastern Orthodox churches. The Orthodox calendar is currently 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar, which is widely used in the Western world. This difference is due to the fact that the Orthodox churches did not adopt the Gregorian calendar, which was introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII as a reform of the Julian calendar. The Orthodox Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox. This is different from the Western Easter, which is always celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox.

I LOVEE this app so much, I have it on my phone and I just recently got it on my Mac, only problem is on Mac the “daily readings” keep giving me a 

“There is an issue retrieving daily readings
Please check back again later. An internet connection is required and some features may not work offline.” 

I was turning my wifi off and restarting my Mac to see if that would work and it didn’t so then I checked again this morning but it’s still giving me the same issue. I would LOVE to continue reading on my Mac rather than my phone so If it’s possible you could fix it, me and many others with the same issue would love it fixed!! :) giving one star review so it could catch your attention but the app is overall 5 STARSS!!!
