### 5/5 — Best Bible Study App

*2025-12-18*

There’s nothing even close imo. Many blessings to the developer(s). This app is absolutely fantastic!

### 5/5 — The best! Easy to use and explore.

*2025-12-11*

Have understood the Bible so much more, and effortlessly thanks to this version’s easy to use links.
It’s saves me time, and keeps me focused so I gain more understanding and insights.

When a verse references another verse, you just tap that reference and it pops up in its own window for you to read. The tapping returns you back to where you were reading originally.

No more having to look up indexes to access references and then finding your way back to where you were before.

### 5/5 — Good

Well made app

### 5/5 — Great update

*2025-10-05*

Love this app. One suggestion for an update. Can you add in Parentheses at the top of chapter numbers the Masoretic chapter number or numbers if there is a difference from the LXX? This is done in the OSB Study Bible for Psalms. Would be nice in Jeremiah and other areas as well.

### 5/5 — Best OSB version yet!

*2025-10-04*

I’ve been using the OSB app since it came out. One of the best things in this version is being able to follow the scriptural breadcrumbs of the footnotes. I had was longing for that ability for years. Now that it’s available it’s absolutely fantastic! As a Greek Orthodox Deacon I constantly get people inquiring about Orthodoxy and what Bible APP they should use and how to use it. I always share the OSB app. With this new version, I think this will really help me to show people how Christ in the Scripture is interwoven from Genesis to Revelation. It will truly help people embracing orthodoxy in an educational, user friendly and Theological way! Bravo and thanks!!

### 5/5 — New OSB Version

*2025-09-30*

This update is absolutely fantastic and exactly what the OSB app needed. The ability to read the footnotes from within the scriptures is a great addition. Having text to speech is great for drives to work in the morning. Only improvement I can think of is adding a different voice in the future. Otherwise, all these new changes are great.

**Developer response:** If you want to have the app use a different reading voice, you can go to the Settings app and search for "spoken content" and then select "voices". Some voices are better than others!

### 5/5 — Great update

Very clean new interface and look, great new features like being able to get the footnotes right at the verse. Thank you

### 5/5 — Fantastic update

The much anticipated update has arrived and it’s spectacular! Thank you!

### 5/5 — 👍

### 5/5 — The New Update

After 13 years the update has finally come. The Orthodox Study Bible is finally free to all. May Christ save us all! Everybody—read! Fast! Feast! Commence!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Scriptures are missing

*2026-07-02*

I really love this Bible app, but I don’t know how many scriptures are missing or wrong. I went to read Psalm 91 and it is clearly not the correct psalm in the Bible app. Please fix it and I’ll give you 5 starts.

**Developer response:** The OSB Old Testament is based on the Septuagint, so some of the Psalms are numbered differently. I suspect the verses you are looking for are in Psalm 90! -P

### 3/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-03-23*

Was hoping to get it to work , unable

**Developer response:** Email me at "support@vdub.software" if you'd like help!

### 3/5 — Almost

*2026-03-17*

If this is a true orthodox study bible, I think it’s a poor choice to use the female AI voice. But they will feminize everything, even the very Word that came to earth and died for us.

**Developer response:** Unfortunately I do not have control over the default voice. Email “support@vdub.software” if you’d like help configuring it!

### 4/5 — Doesn’t use proper voice

*2026-02-24*

No matter what I change it doesn’t use the proper voice to read the text. I see others with this problem as well. Please fix and I’ll update to five stars. Lent has stated it would be wonderful to have this resolved asap. Otherwise app is perfect and continues to change my life!

**Developer response:** Email me at "support@vdub.software" if you'd like help diagnosing this!

### 4/5 — Cannot Change Reader Voice

*2026-02-21*

It uses the old female robot voice for Siri 1 instead of the new male voice that sounds way more realistic. I can switch to other voices, but not to the new Siri 1.

**Developer response:** Yes, iOS will fall back to the old female robot if it decides to not let the app use a specific voice. (It's not just Siri 1.) There doesn't appear to be anything I can do on my end. Sorry!

### 4/5 — Great improvements but missing search

*2025-11-01*

OSB II has a lot of nice improvements from the first version. The only reason I still refer to the first version is to use the search feature, which seems to be missing entirely from this version. This version would get 5 stars with the search added back in.

Another suggestion I have is to work with the Orthodox Daily Scriptures podcast by Fr. Alexey and embed his audio into this app. It’s distracting having a robotic voice read scripture and Fr. Alexey’s audio would be great to have tied to this app verse by verse.

**Developer response:** Search has been added! See the v4.0 update.

I hadn't heard of Fr. Alexey's podcast. He is using what the app calls the "Bible in One Year (Mixed)" reading plan. It would be neat to link to his audio in the plan! I'll see what I can do.

If you want to have the app use a different reading voice, you can go to the Settings app and search for "spoken content" and then select "voices". Some voices are better than others!

### 4/5 — Where’s the search option?

*2025-10-26*

Love the app, but I can’t seem to find a way to do a word search - I kept the previous version for that feature specifically (LOL)

**Developer response:** Search has been added! See the v4.0 update.

### 5/5 — Perfect app

*2026-07-06*

This app is just what I was looking for. Carrying around the physical OSB can be difficult. Especially if you are looking to avoid damaging its thin pages. Only a one time payment of $10 to always have access to the Bible and all footnotes that you find in the physical version. The developer also leaves detailed steps on how you can change the AI voice that can read to you. The app will also keep your place (it makes note of what chapter you are on). I’d recommend this to any orthodox person with a smart phone. So many other resources are included as well besides the Holy Bible. So grateful for this!

### 5/5 — Must have app!!!

*2026-05-01*

Amazing update

### 5/5 — The Best Bible App I’ve Used

*2026-04-25*

I’ve been using the YouVersion Bible app for some time, and while I love that it gives access to multiple translations I found myself wanting a way to read the Orthodox Study Bible on the go, and I came across this app. It’s literally 1:1 with my copy of the OSB by Tyndale and I’m extremely happy with this. Through scripture it gives you access to references to other verses in the Bible that relate to the verse you’re currently on both from the Old and New Testament and study guide notes explaining the why as to what happened in scripture, which is amazing if you really appreciate having clarity at your fingertips when reading. It also has daily liturgical readings and morning and evening prayers that you can follow and recite!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-03-07*

Honestly it’s a good option for those who don’t want to carry their physical OSB everywhere or people who prefer to have a digital version that is accessible. Probably the best OSB app on the store. It’s got a very simple and intuitive design. It gets constant updates and the price is very reasonable. I believe keeping this app simple without too much going on like other bible apps will help it out. A very well deserved five stars.

### 5/5 — Best way to read OSB

*2026-03-07*

I love that it’s frequently updated and a one time purchase not subscription, by far the best way to stay on top of reading the OSB, thank you for the app! One suggestion for future update would be to search by highlight color feature the same way you can sort all your tagged verses :)

### 5/5 — Doesn’t use proper voice

*2026-03-04*

No matter what I change it doesn’t use the proper voice to read the text. I see others with this problem as well. Please fix and I’ll update to five stars. Lent has stated it would be wonderful to have this resolved asap. Otherwise app is perfect and continues to change my life!

Addition. This is apples fault. You can only use certain lesser quality voices.

**Developer response:** Email me at "support@vdub.software" if you'd like help diagnosing this!

### 5/5 — Glory to God

*2026-02-22*

Amazing, thanks to God. Just wondering if it’s possible to bring back the highlighting and sharing of whole verses like was possible in the first version (tapped on the verse to highlight it all). God bless your efforts!

### 5/5 — Orthodox Study Bible

*2026-02-09*

All the books are here! Must have a printed and the app version!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-01-22*

Everything I need within one app! Amazing!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-01-03*

Want to deepen your faith? Want to deepen your knowledge of the Holy Scriptures? This app is the way to go and that one-time contribution of 10 euros is well invested. Keep up the good work and God bless!
