Great application, but it is unstable and inconsistent on iOS devices, particularly iPhones.  Once the map layout and configuration is adjusted, it’s one thing after another for why it will crash.  Either the navigation wont work, or the custom route will not display - support is not too helpful either, with the same answer every time.  Reset, uninstall, reinstall and if the issue persists, send the logs.  After 1 year of using (or trying to!) I still only manage to get work arounds and fractional usage. Please fix these issues and make it reliable and you get 5 stars!

Application bien conçue cependant navigation indisponible hors abonnement,Waze est gratuit  avec toutes les fonctionnalités, je continuerai donc avec Waze

I’m always on the lookout for the quintessential navigator for the motorbike and car. Currently use Google Maps and have tried a lot of other apps. 

Osmand looks good. However my primary use case is with Apple CarPlay on the motorbike. Because this is a paid-for feature I can’t test it on the bike’s CarPlay device (Chigee). 

I’ll have to mount the phone in a holder to test its features before I can make a decision on whether or not to buy it. 

The app is highly configurable too. I’ve set up two profiles: one for the car and one for the bike. Handy to be able to tell each one the vehicles fuel details but I’m not sure what that does for the user. Maybe it’s in the help guide. 

Screen design looks ok.

Apple CarPlay integration is a paid feature included in our paid tiers (Maps+ or OsmAnd Pro), but it should be available for free for the first 10 days. If it doesn't work, please contact us at support@osmand.net, and we will give you 1 month of access to test it.

Configuring distinct profiles for your car and motorbike is highly recommended. Entering your vehicle's fuel details provides the following benefits:
• It calculates and displays your trip's estimated CO2 footprint within the Route Details panel.
• It establishes baseline data used to accurately monitor fuel levels and consumption rates if you use the Vehicle Metrics plugin alongside an OBD-II scanner.

I really want to give an open source map application my business, but it’s worthless when searching marks incorrect addresses and navigation directions lead me down private roads with locked gates, and that the search results are not only hard to read, but give global results, not ones scoped my local location.

I like the idea of open source and privacy. For me, this is a top seller.

The plus version is just the minimum expected for a free mapping application.

The pro version is actually very expensive in my country. 

I would suggest to review the pricing.

In short - I’ve never ever used it. Each time I had to switch to Guru maps, bc Osmand was unusable. Later I was struggling with cancelling subscription - the regarding  manual article 100% irrelevant.

Data for my neighborhood never updates to match current info that I see on OSM website. OSMAnd app is still showing businesses that closed a year and a half ago

We used the mapping system for the first time today on a 300 mile journey and it failed miserably!

The system froze on startup but I then restarted my iPhone and it worked for a while.  We then stopped, exited the car and when we returned, it froze again but after a few minutes, restarted.  However, it had forgotten the original destination.

When we were near our destination it took us into an industrial estate, had no idea of how to reach the hotel and I resorted to using Google maps which worked perfectly.

It might be great if I’m hiking off-road but, as a vehicle mapping system, it’s useless!

I was using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, running 26.6 and CarPlay.

Regarding the routing issue near your destination, OsmAnd relies completely on community-driven OpenStreetMap data. If the hotel address or the specific access roads within the industrial estate lack precise tags in the database, the offline routing engine may not find the optimal path.

I tried putting in 2 addresses to do navigation and it didn’t recognize either of them. These were street addresses, one was a residence and the other was a hotel.  Not good if you wanted something reliable in case you lost gps signal.  If I’m doing something wrong please let me know.

So I’ve been using OSMAndMaps+, the paid version that allowed me to download map updates for lifetime etc. All of a sudden I seem to have lost all my “road avoidances”, and it looks like you’re now pushing a subscription based “Pro” version, with a “back up” facility. Previously when maps were updated these “points” were carried over. I’m not happy.

J’utilisais OsmAnd depuis des années. Sur Android puis sur iPhone, lorsque j’ai migré. J’aime bien cette application mais les abonnements sont trop chers. Pourtant, je trouve ça normal de payer pour un service, tout travail mérite rémunération, mais je trouve que cette application prend ses utilisateurs pour des vaches à lait.

Il y a bien une possibilité de paiement unique (70€) mais elle ne donne pas accès à toutes les fonctionnalités (pas d’accès aux fonctionnalités PRO, pas de synchronisation dans le cloud, pas de Relief 3D, etc)

Finalement j’ai découvert CoMaps. Moins de possibilités pour le moment mais une approche dans la philosophie du Libre et de l’open source. Je viens de faire un don 👌👍

Literally the worst app I’ve ever used on an iPad! The plan a route function is unusable beyond a few simple intersections. If you ride a motorcycle and you want something to help you plan a specific route then don’t waste the money subscribing to this as I did. It’s far more likely to get you killed than to plan a safe route unless you’re just going to the end of your street. Frustrating total bust, don’t bother!!

Ich nutze OsmAnd schon sehr lange - auf Android, Windows, iOS und jetzt auch auf MacOS. Erstens: Es funktioniert auch auf dem Mac, obwohl die App lt. App Store nur für iPad und iPhone angeboten wird. Als ich nun das erste mal techn. Probleme hatte, musste ich mich an den Support wenden. Dass ich OsmAnd auf dem Mac laufen habe war überhaupt kein Thema. Der Support fühlte sich zuständig. Ich bekam erste Hinweise (die nicht halfen) eine detaillierte Anleitung, welche Informationen ich dem Support liefern sollte und schlussendlich eine genaue und funktionierende Anleitung zur Behebung des Problems. So wünsche ich mir den Support. Ich bin sehr zufrieden.
