## What is OTABiS?

OTABiS is a map app for anime pilgrimage ("seichi junrei") — visiting the real places that appear in anime. It covers 14,000+ locations across Japan, organized by work, together with up-to-date listings of collaboration cafés and pop-up shops. Available in English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.

FIND LOCATIONS
- Browse spots by work and see their position and reference image on the map
- Episode references and data sources shown for each spot
- One search for works, spots and collab events

COLLAB INFO
- Collaboration cafés, pop-up shops and campaigns across Japan, listed by work from official announcements
- Filter by ongoing / starting soon, by type and by prefecture
- See participating venues on the map and add them straight to your trip plan. Turn on the Collab layer from the map's layer menu to show them alongside pilgrimage spots
- Mobile-game collabs and area-wide campaigns without a fixed venue are listed with their official source
- Listings are removed automatically when the event ends. Only factual details are shown (name, dates, venue, official link) — please check each official page for details

CHECK IN ON SITE
- On-site check-in within 100 m, three check-in methods
- Compare mode: overlay the reference image on the viewfinder to recreate the shot
- Add a one-line comment to your check-in photo for the gallery

PLAN A TRIP
- Day-by-day itineraries with collaborative editing
- Today mode: on travel days your plan is pinned on top with the next stop
- Add hotels, collab venues and Circle spots to your plan

CIRCLES
- Build a private shared map with friends; join by invite code or QR
- Rate and comment on members' photos, react with emoji, and upload your circle's own emoji
- Spot history timeline and open/closed status, plus circle stats (this month's footprints, rankings, popular photos)
- Circle spots and check-ins are visible to members only and never appear on the public map

RECORD AND LOOK BACK
- Journey log and exploration map: places you've visited light up over time
- Per-work completion stats and a shareable poster

ABOUT CONTENT
Reference images are shown for comparison under quotation. Collab listings are factual information based on each organizer's official announcements; OTABiS is not affiliated with the organizers or operators of these events. Rights holders can contact rights@otabis.jp; we stop display first and discuss after. All user-generated content can be reported and is handled within 24 hours.

OTABiS is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
