The app is pretty useless if you can’t sign in, no? ### 2/5 — No Apple Wallet integration *2021-08-18, version 6.9* This is a decent app for scheduling your vaccination, but once you’re done and you need to access your vaccination card while out and about, it’s terrible. The app has no way to quickly access your vaccination card from the Lock Screen. So when you’re out wearing your mask, and you need to access your vaccine card, you have to type in your password, find the app, and then navigate to your vaccine record. Other apps integrate with Apple Wallet, so you can quickly access your card from the Lock Screen with a simple double tap of the side button. Why can’t Othena offer this feature if others can? ### 2/5 — Seriously disappointed *2021-08-07, version 6.8* You need to add digital vaccine care with QR code that is quick and easy to use. This app used to have that option then it was removed. Please bring it back. ### 1/5 — Cannot Schedule Appointments Now *2021-07-07, version 6.6* I tried contact the app maker about this issue, but no response. I was able to schedule my first and second vaccination, but my wife was unable to schedule her 2nd dosage. It now says that there are no active appointments available after 4/26/2021. Today is July 7th! Very weird. We had to go through Walgreens website instead. ### 2/5 — Not working after latest update *2021-05-21, version 6.5* Click on login with username and password, resets and takes you right back to login, no error. ### 1/5 — Bad update *2021-04-30, version 6.4* I updated the app and now it says no appointments available. When I go to the Othena website directly there are numerous appointments to choose from. Please fix. ### 5/5 — Worked. End Story *2021-04-18, version 6.2* This app gets a lot of crap from VoiceOfOC and from just about every Boomer on NextDoor, but honestly it’s not deserved. It works. End story. I signed up back in mid-February and forgot it. Got a push alert saying I was eligible and had an appointment ready for me in Mid-March. Appointment was super fast and orderly. Then I just got my second shot. Same process but faster. Othena never crashed at a critical moment (like in line at the shot clinic) or glitched my appointment info, so it gets a good review from me. Beyond that, I hope I never have to use it again and these vaccines are the end of the Covid panic. Honestly, given how the DMV and EDD work in the state of California, Othena is a rockstar. ### 1/5 — Worst app OF ALL TIME!! *2021-04-18, version 6.2* I’m sorry. I HATE doing things, but WHY on earth do you not mention this app on your website?? You could of helped the thousands of people like me trying to get the vaccine. I lost my job because of the pandemic and I would love get the vaccine, but companies like Othena do NOTHING to help you. All you have on your website is a picture of a phone in the Athena website, but NOWHERE does it mention you can download an app. OTHENA is pure capitalism and they pretend they care about you, little do you know to them you are just a number. You’ve killed thousands of people OTHENA. I hope your proud of yourselves. ### 5/5 — App works *2021-04-17, version 6.2* Works well, helped me get my appointment and everything ### 5/5 — Surprisingly Efficient *2021-04-16, version 6.2* In the beginning, I didn’t see how this app was going to efficiently get millions of people organized and in the door to get vaccinated. I was pretty impressed to see just how well this got it done. As I was sitting in the waiting area after my first shot, it was already updated to show my next appointment. After my second waiting area visit, it was already updated to show both my shots were completed. Choosing appointment times and locations was easy, as was rescheduling. They even actually answered the phone when I called to ask a question. Overall, I can’t imagine this working any better than it has so far... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Social Security ? *2025-02-10, version 8.5.3* I wanted to take this at home Covid 19 test but I didn’t have my ID on me so they wanted my social security number. Absolutely not! ### 1/5 — Danger?! Abandoned registration. Very intrusive. *2024-03-16, version 8.5.3* The developers claim not to collect data, but the app collects extensive data about users in rider to register. I have no basis on which to trust this company and abandoned my registration after entering more data than I wish I had. ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2023-03-15, version 8.5.2* Since the last update two weeks ago, I have been unable to log in, said my user id is not in their system. Look, I loved this app because it was easy for me to make an appt with any booster shot I needed, but it was a convenient way for me to “carry” my vax card without having the physical card on me. It’s was like a security blanket in case I needed it when I travel or in case I have to go to the hospital. When you have leukaemia, one tries to stay cautious so not to catch a cold, flu or any virus out there because it takes our bodies a little longer to fight it. Not being able to log in, or the system not able to acknowledge/find my user id is very nerve racking. This app also was fast at recording my vax records, faster than the state or DOH was able to send to my doctors. If this app is going to be obsolete soon, I wish a notification would have been sent to all users. ### 1/5 — Erased *2023-03-02, version 8.5.2* If no stars were allowed, this would be it. The app erased all of my history EVERYTHING!!! I have no use for this app and want my account deleted but there seems no way to do this. ### 1/5 — Can’t proceed past the location screen *2021-11-27, version 6.17* I’m not even able to sign up on this app because I can’t proceed past the screen that asks where I’m located. I enter my location, and it shows up on a map, but I’m not allowed to scroll down to anything that takes me to the next action ### 1/5 — Latest version keeps crashing *2021-11-03, version 6.14* This app has been great until the latest version which now crashes every.single.time I want to view my vaccination details. Have tried deleting and re-downloading app with no improvement . The other parts of the app work great but when the most important part doesn’t work…hardly seems worth it to have. ### 1/5 — Still the worst app *2021-10-29, version 6.14* Not only was I never able to make an appointment with the app, but even though the state has verification of my two vaccines, this app shows me as unvaccinated. Useless garbage. I entered survey info, signed, pressed ‘confirm’…then blank pulsing screen, going on ten minutes now. This app is so badly designed and server capacity is so puny. After all this time, performance is unacceptable. Downloaded the app on my iPhone 7 to schedule vaccine appt. Two buttons: register and login. Since I am already registered via their website, I click on login. Nothing. The login button is partially off screen. So I click on register and go through the questionnaire like I did previously, enter my email address but get a message saying that email is already registered. I know that. But no way to login using my credentials. Right before I registered it showed me appointments I could choose from. I parked, walked and was getting my shot before I knew it. There was a bunch of people showing me where to go. The longest I had to wait was the 15 minutes after.
