### 2/5 — Very frustrating!

*2025-02-15, version 1.0.7*

That is how I describe this app. I wish that I would have read the reviews before purchasing and downloading this app. I got it for one of two ways (required by login.gov) to get a 2 factor ID code to successfully login to my social security account. I spent a whole afternoon googling for user instructions for the app and still couldn’t figure it out. Maybe someone who is a coder or IT can figure it out, I certainly can’t.

### 3/5 — Say what?

*2024-08-17, version 1.0.7*

This app badly needs an introduction rather than a jumbled set of instructions and terms that I’m not familiar with. What is OTP used for??

### 4/5 — Nice syncing but adding tokens via iPhone is broken

*2022-07-21, version 2.1.8*

Overall, this does what it claims to do. However, adding tokens via the iPhone just continues to replaces the existing token.

Adding them via the desktop worked great and then synced (via iCloud) to my phone and watch. This was the main need - to get it easily to the phone and watch.

Interfact is workable and not very cluttered.

Over all I give it a good rating but it does need some work.

### 2/5 — Too complex

*2022-01-11, version 2.1.7*

One of two required authentication apps for MAC OS to use with Login.GOV
THis is not user friendly

### 4/5 — items padding in toolbar window

*2021-04-19, version 2.1.4*

1) Needs an ability to add token from toolbar window.

2) Items padding in toolbar window is too big. Need an option to customize the padding or list the tokens in compact style.

3) and item's background color should be customizable too or at least about to expire tokens font color should match with the background color.

4) Text / shortcut info in small icon set are not necessary. And raise ux concerns on mouse over. Icons are self explanatory. Shortcut info can go into settings window.

Thanks for fixing many issues in the last couple of weeks, now after these fixes, I think i can migrate back fully to this otp manager.

### 5/5 — Revised version is SO FANTASTIC

*2021-04-05, version 2.0.0*

This app just went through a massive revision and all of my dislikes, wishes for functionality and more have been taken care of in this release. Finally an OTP app that spans all apple devices including MacOS is available making futing with export/import and redoing secrets a thing of the past. Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2020-08-28, version 1.5.0*

Just what I needed - an authenticator app that works with my old Mac, doesn’t ask me to sign into anything, and doesn’t send my data anywhere. I recommend it!

### 1/5 — Hasn't been updated in over 4 years

*2020-07-11, version 1.5.0*

Has not been updated in 4 years!

### 1/5 — How does this work?

*2020-01-23, version 1.5.0*

Yea, so, uh. Downloaded and it starts asking for codes that I have no idea where to find or what they're for. How about a little direction on how this works?

Deleting immediately.

### 4/5 — Finally Figured It Out

*2019-12-09, version 1.5.0*

Took a while to figure this out…Click on plus sign to add account. Copy website URL into the "Issuer” then put in your username for that website into “username.” The “OTP Shared Secret” is the 2FA code the issuer has given you to authenticate. The code OTP Manager returns back to you goes into the issuer’s query space. Voila. Still clueless about scan codes :-)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible with no support

*2025-05-28, version 2.1.9*

This no longer adds accounts with otpm files or QR but displays a green check and hangs there on the camera view. This app appears to no longer be supported by the developer.

### 1/5 — owner

*2025-04-28, version 2.1.9*

How do I get rid of his APP, it is useless?
Total waste of money and signing up for.

### 1/5 — No Instructions Makes It Useless

*2024-12-16, version 2.1.9*

There is nothing in the FAQ about how to set up tokens and when I searched online I could find no YouTube videos to walk me through it. The only text instructions I could find was from a university in Japan. At one point it wants me to scan a QR code...so how does that happen on a laptop? I need this for exactly ONE thing...the new method for accessing a Social Security account online. Well if someone who has a master's degree in computer science and has been involved in computer and network design for four decades can't figure it out, good luck for anyone who is computer illiterate.

### 1/5 — bad site

*2024-11-24, version 2.1.9*

I tried to use this and it said it needed my credit card information. I never give that to an unknown app. So, I don't trust this app.

### 1/5 — No support and no protection

*2024-07-27, version 1.0.7*

Tried to use the app in setting up a new government account; as soon as I entered the code given by the government organization, numbers started scrolling continuously, which is generally a concern. I had to cancel the online account, delete the app, hope that nobody has hacked into my info and, through all of this, I have had absolutely no response to the email request for assistance that I sent 3 days ago.

### 1/5 — terrible app

*2024-07-24, version 2.1.9*

this is a terrible app they write the instructions in some sort of code only they understand and not for the end user... waste of space

### 1/5 — Login help

*2024-07-23, version 1.0.7*

After purchase, cannot still login to my account.

### 1/5 — Website and Privacy cannot find anywhere

*2023-05-08, version 2.1.9*

The developer website and Privacy link are no where to find. Should I trust ?

### 1/5 — This is impossible to use

*2021-11-17, version 2.1.7*

This is impossible to use. It's all in computer-speak.
I'm not computer illiterate but this is too difficult to figure out. The glossary does not help. The QRC code doesn't work. I down-loaded the OTP Manager and I still don't know what to do. I do not believe that every trusted traveller in the U.S. can use this system.

### 1/5 — Too much work! Too much time; TMI. !

*2021-10-12, version 1.0.5*

And how did I get here? All I wanted to
do was sign into my Social Security account but now it’s all one government account. So why do I have to download yet another app on my crowded iPhone. I understand the purpose of having a secure account but figuring out this new app is too time consuming. Can’t you find a way to
streamline this process?
It was much easier and far better when all I had to do was login to My Society Security, do what I needed and log out.
If it ain’t broke…

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works well.

*2026-01-02, version 2.1.9*

Have been using this for years, always works as expected. Not sure why some users give it negative reviews.

### 5/5 — Clear, useful, safe

*2025-09-08, version 2.1.9*

Perfect app for all my authentification needs. There is no QR scanner included, but a simple cmd shift 4 is good enough to get a QR code source file, which can be added bby dragging. iCloud sync simply works and I love the backup/restore feature. *****

### 5/5 — Doesn’t open on Sequoia 15.1

*2024-11-17, version 2.1.9*

Guys, could you please, fix - it stopped working (the app doesn’t load) after upgrading to Sequoia 15.1. Already tried reinstalling - didn’t work. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Superb

*2022-06-23, version 2.1.8*

Has all the functionality I need and free.

Simple designed without sacrifice of features.

Hope the font and bg color can be customized.

Thanks, Developer of this amazing App!

### 5/5 — Fast and easy to setup and work fine

*2022-01-25, version 2.1.7*

I installed this Google Auth on Macbook Pro Monterey, it tooks 3 minutes and worked perfect to import accounts from Google Auth on iPhone

### 5/5 — Works great. Most bad reviews are from people who don't understand OTP.

*2021-06-14, version 2.1.7*

If you don't understand OTP, don't download this. If you do, this is a great way to manage 2fa without getting locked in to any ecosystem like Authy or Google Authenticator.

### 5/5 — Best OTP for mac

*2021-05-31, version 2.1.6*

I'm really satisfied with last update

### 5/5 — Just what I wanted

*2021-04-19, version 2.1.3*

I love the menu bar option, providing quick access to my many TOTP tokens without having to go hunting for an app window.

### 5/5 — native mac otp with ios companion app

*2021-04-08, version 2.0.1*

Even before the 2.0.0 release two days ago, this was my otp app of choice for mac. If I recall correctly, there was no other native free mac otp app out there.

With the 2.0.0 revamp, I am very satisfied with the modernized UI and the iOS companion app. I can now use otp manager for both mac and iOS, whereas before I had to use another otp app on iOS.

This is everything I want in an OTP app: export/import functions, edit/delete, sync with companion apps. And it's free.

### 5/5 — excellent otp app with native mac app too

*2021-04-08*

This app has everything I need in an otp app: export and import functions, edit+delete, sync with other apple devices.

It is also the only native ios app I know of that also has a native mac app, which is a great bonus.

The app developer was also very quick to respond to emails and very friendly.
