I use it to record meeting notes with multiple people in the room because it can distinguish different speakers and then we have a basic transcription to use for meeting minutes. Even funnier is how it promises 90 minutes, but I was cut off mid sentence 12 seconds before 89min. I want to be mad but am simply sad. Is this what they call late stage capitalism? They boast about being an "award-winning" platform, but they can't even handle basic processing. I am paying $30 a month, and yet I'm consistently waiting 10, sometimes up to 24 hours, just to get a simple meeting summary and transcript. If I wanted to wait an entire day to know what happened in my meeting, I would have taken manual notes. The entire selling point of AI meeting assistants is speed and efficiency, both of which are completely non-existent here. Paying premium price for snail-pace delivery is a joke. I am not one to use Generative AI application in any academic settings, since writing, reading, evaluation and communication are all important parts of the scientific process. However, I have pretty bad ADHD and even though I try to focus on my meetings with supervisors and necessary lectures (shocker, PhD student still attends lectures), I couldn’t possibly get everything down. The summary alone would already be super helpful, since I tend to miss a lot of things under those settings, the overview and action items function allow me to do quick reviews and follow up works. I can also use custom instructions to focus the topics and key points that are importantly. I have also reached out to their customer support recently, and they were super helpful and friendly, over all I’d recommend otter as the go to transcription software. ### 5/5 — Simple to use, excellent results *2026-08-25, version 3.106.0* Otter is my go-to for transcriptions.
