### 4/5 — Creatures

*2026-04-08, version 1.0.2*

It would be cool if we could enable all of our little creatures we find on our adventures! The fish and the bugs and butterflies.

### 2/5 — Was cute and promising, but now abandoned :(

*2025-12-03*

This review was written before the developers decided to abandon this app for a soulless AI self-care pet app. No response to my emails, the official Otto Discord was pretty much deleted, and the devs went back on their promise to never use AI with how the Otto website redirects to an AI-powered app. Otto still functions as a self-care pet app, but the numerous bugs will likely never be fixed and no new features or updates will be pushed out which makes Otto vastly inferior to the likes of Catzy or Finch. Shame, considering how open and transparent the devs had been with us, but that's just corporate greed for you.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this incredibly kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a lot to our small team to know that Otto has made a positive impression so early on. We're especially glad the transparency and heart we put into the app and community are coming through, that’s something we care deeply about. We're continuing to work hard on goal improvements and can’t wait to share what’s coming next. And yes, we loved the “otter-ly” adorable pun! If you ever have ideas, feedback, or just want to say hi, feel free to reach out to us at contact@ottohabits.com. We love hearing from you.

### 5/5 — Free!! Super useful for adhd people or just those needing to be motivated

*2025-09-30, version 0.7.2*

I downloaded this app thinking as soon as I enter I’d have to delete it because it’d need a subscription or something to use it but to my surprise it was free and I’ve been using it for a while now. I absolutely love this app and have told my friends about it. Super helpful and motivating. The creators of this app are so wonderful for such an app.

### 5/5 — Otro

*2025-08-25, version 0.7.2*

It’s really fun and entertaining I love it it feels like ur a mom

### 3/5 — The otter is an adorable mascot for your day

*2025-07-04, version 0.7.2*

Curiosity as to what your little animal will discover on the trips is a pretty fun and unique motivator to check off your tasks (only once you've completed enough tasks can Otta go). The app will appeal most to kids but is actually fun for adults too! There are not many countries for trips (both the U.S. and England are missing) but I assume more will be added eventually. Dressing up your otter and changing the house colors & furniture might be a good motivator for getting stuff done someday, but so far those choices are very plain and limited.

Overall, Otto/Otta has a lot of potential, although fairly basic right now. If the app keeps developing it'll be worth an extra star by mid-2026.

Dev: It'd be nice if the user could make harder tasks worth more points.
Some little animation when you click on the otter's surroundings would also be fun. And there is no explanation as to what equipping is. The paywall popping up seems to indicate you can't do it without Premium, but it'd be handy to know what it actually IS first.

### 5/5 — Super cute and promising!

*2025-05-27*

While I've only been using Otto for about a week, I'm already loving what I see with this app! After feeling betrayed seeing how Finch has declined in terms of usability and their slow shift to being another corporate habit tracker, Otto has been like a breath of fresh air. I love how transparent the team has been, especially on Discord; they've even promised to keep Otto free of AI, which means a lot to me when most self-care apps are shoving AI into their products. While Otto might not be as robust as other apps in terms of how goals work (such as Finch), the Otto team has improving this aspect of the app at the top of their to-do list. And of course, the app is utterly (or otter-ly?) adorable, and I love seeing all the little details the developers have added as well as all the custom art used for the discoveries. Overall, I'm super excited to see how Otto grows and to support a small team who has a clear heart and passion for their app!

### 5/5 — Solid team making something for us

*2025-05-23*

Love the art style and the animation of the otter swimming! I previously used Finch and a lot happened there that left me feeling disheartened. I think Otto is a really promising alternative and I’m basing that off of the team behind it. This app has no AI and no plans to ever add or use AI. There’s already a ton of functionality with more on the way. Definitely give them a try!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words and for giving Otto a try! We’re really happy to hear the art and animations are bringing you joy, our team puts a lot of love into every little detail. We’re committed to building something thoughtful, transparent, and genuinely supportive, and it’s wonderful to have you along for the journey. If you ever have feedback or ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you at contact@ottohabits.com.

*2025-05-18, version 0.6.15*

I’ve barely had him for more than an hour and they are already awesome. It’s gender inclusive, habit inclusive, and very fun and playful!

### 5/5 — I love Otto

*2025-05-07, version 0.6.15*

Otto is so fun! I love it so creative

### 5/5 — Exceptional

*2025-05-06*

Keeps me on track and organized in my daily tasks. And it’s fun to play as well

### 5/5 — Very calming

*2025-04-21*

So my experience was very well im like 10 minutes into this app and it’s really good it keeps me calm and I feel like this app is well understanding and some people might think that apps don’t help you this one does it’s the only one I’ll commit to!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Full crashes

*2026-04-16, version 1.0.2*

Every time i try to make a reminder set for midnight, the whole app crashes and i cannot reopen it, i am forced to uninstall the app and the account is inaccessible without the app crashing

### 1/5 — To big of screen

*2026-01-09, version 0.7.2*

I get through the first part of the setting it up, but at the end, there’s a button at the bottom that I can’t scroll down to get to and when I try to tap the small bit of it that shows, it doesn’t do anything. I can tell it’s a nice app though!

### 1/5 — Abandoned App

*2025-10-12*

Left a positive review here after interactions with the developer team making Otto on their discord. At the time they shared that they had no plans to implement AI features in Otto and even thanked those of us who asked about it for caring. A few weeks later they announced that they are going to stop adding new features to Otto so they could focus on selfcare and scaling the app more intentionally. It’s been a few months since then so I checked in to see how Otto was going. I was genuinely disappointed when I tried the website only to find that it now redirects to an AI self care pet app. Whatever’s going on behind the scenes, this is not a developer team I would trust my mental health with.

### 1/5 — Deceitful team making an AI app

*2025-10-09*

Left a positive review here after interactions with the developer team making Otto. A few months ago they indicated that they had no plans to use AI and were in fact taking a self-care break to scale the company more intentionally. Well, they’ve stopped updating this app and are now redirecting the Otto website to an AI based self-care Koala app. I overlooked how much they copied from competitor apps and that was a mistake.

### 1/5 — Dead

*2025-08-26, version 0.7.2*

Seems like the company has gone scorched earth on this game. They deleted their discord, replace the Otto website with another app, and aren’t replying to any emails. Honestly I don’t know how they are allowed to keep the game up for people buy. Pretty sad because it was decent.

### 1/5 — Not being updated

*2025-08-14*

Sadly, the development team is no longer updating the app so there is not going to be any new content and just a lot of repeated experiences. It was fun while it lasted but unfortunately I guess it just wasn’t worth the effort to continue. If they start up again, I’ll gladly change my review.

### 1/5 — I changed phone & my lifetime subscription is gone

*2025-05-28*

I tried to login and says password is wrong. So I tried to restore the password multiple times yet they never send the email to restore. I had a lifetime subscription (Order ID R24TOLJMFON2K3) that I can't use because they don't send the password reset link & support doesn't respond

**Developer response:** We’re really sorry to hear you’re having trouble logging in and that the password reset emails aren’t coming through, that definitely sounds frustrating. If you haven’t already, please check your spam or junk folder just in case the email ended up there. If it’s still missing, feel free to email us directly at contact@ottohabits.com with your order ID (like you shared here). We’ll do our best to get this sorted quickly so you can get back to enjoying Otto!

### 1/5 — Like a knock off bad version of finch

*2025-05-25*

I downloaded this app because I wanted to separate my daily goals from my main big goal app and someone said it was similar to the app I currently use… they didn’t tell me it was like a total rip off of it except minus the ability to weight your goals. So I’m deleting it because even though it has potential it’s only got it because it’s a copy of another already popular app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t respond to customer support requests

*2025-03-30*

I have sent a couple of emails asking for support on my account. I have waited for a response from the customer support team but have not heard anything back. I sent a diagnostic report and a problem report and again heard nothing back. It is not worth anyone’s time or effort to use. Definitely not worth spending a single cent on.

**Developer response:** Hi there, we're really sorry to hear this and truly apologize for the lack of response — that’s not the experience we want anyone to have with Otto. We're a very small team and sometimes fall behind on support, but we absolutely appreciate you reaching out and taking the time to send those reports.

Unfortunately we can't seem to find or have received the reports you've sent - We’d love the chance to make things right. If you’re open to it, please email us again at contact@ottohabits.com, and include “Follow-up: Support Request” in the subject line so we can prioritize it right away.

Thank you again for trying Otto — we’re grateful for your time and feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to turn your experience around.

### 1/5 — Deletes negative reviews

### 5/5 — OMG ITS SO GOOD

*2026-03-28, version 1.0.2*

I had it for 4 months and I have a 6 pack

### 5/5 — BEST SELF-CARE APP!!!

*2026-03-07, version 0.7.2*

I LOVE THIS APP SO MUCH! Its so awesome and great Otto helps me keep track of what I do in a day 🦦🦦🦦

### 5/5 — Will continue to use!

*2026-01-28*

I have a couple of meds I need to take at different times throughout the day and I’m frequently getting distracted. I use the app to set recurring reminders to take them at specific times, and because I earn pearls to decorate my otter I actually open it up to check things off so I can go back and make sure I’m not double taking my meds when I’m not feeling well. Some people use pill holders, but I’m bad at remembering to fill those. So this was a very nice compromise and I don’t snooze it like alarms. It’s also become my daily todo list app now too lol

### 5/5 — This app helped me drink water

*2025-11-16, version 0.7.2*

I rarely drink water and it actually works

### 5/5 — MUST TRY!

*2025-11-12*

So fun and it helps me with self care! The only thing I would add is when your otto gets back, you can write your own message to him and he would actually read it unlike finch. (Sorry finch you are amazing) but yea, and more colors for the flower like black because I NEED that for my fit.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2025-10-27, version 0.7.2*

Review written by the daughter of this account‘s owner- AMAZING!!! I have an intense special interest in Otters and know all 13 species by memory and have so many otter items! This helps me so much with routine and hygiene as a person with autism & ADHD this helps alot, also helps with anxiety! 100% recommended. Also, which Otter species is Otto? Seems like a mix of some River Otter with a Sea Otter,-the Sea Otter because it floats on water like them, yet the appearance of some River Otter !🦦

### 5/5 — So fun and cute

*2025-10-09*

This app is so fun and cute you can name your otter an color it and you get to make a route but it’s like all routes games to help so it’s not to fun but it’s cute try it and see how it is
