## What is Ought Takes?

We disagree to change our hearts and minds.

Ought Takes is a social game for structured, productive disagreement. Instead of arguments that generate more heat than light, it gives you a format to actually understand why someone sees things differently — and maybe update your view.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Answer the "takes" on your own — from strongly agree to strongly disagree.
2. Share your code with a partner via QR code, or paste it in.
3. Compare to see where you disagree most.
4. Pick a disagreement and have a structured discussion: one person explains, the other listens and asks questions. Then switch.
5. Reflect — did anything move you? Update your position and record what was convincing.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
• Listen before persuading. The format makes you understand a position before you argue against it.
• Changing your mind is the goal. Shifts are tracked, celebrated, and scored — the most open-minded player wins.
• Calibrated for your group. Question sets are rated by "spiciness," from silly food debates to genuinely challenging moral philosophy. Start mild and work your way up as you unlock harder sets.
• Turing Test mode. Argue for a position that isn't yours and see if your partner can tell.

The point isn't to win. It's to get closer to the truth together — and maybe understand each other a little better along the way.
