I have been using this for years but it seems that every time they do an update, something stops working. This new update broke the daily images at the end of the insight. However there is a recent glitch - it no longer connects to the bible reading & one has to look it up separately. I like listening to the devotional, especially for the prayer, because sometimes the wording for the prayer isn’t very long, but the person saying, the prayer is better. I read ODB on my phone or iPad. Today and yesterday the app won’t open, it just spins. I have shut down my phone thinking that may be the problem, still didn’t work. My iPad works fine, is there a problem with the phones? I keep coming back to it because it is so accessible, encouraging and applicable to my daily life! I love the way it provides a scripture to read and then an application. I made time and I got like 30 minutes back in my commute time for no logically reason. I was just sharing that with a friend and thought I should share it on a review. Each story is unique and interesting. However, there is a question I do have; my readings are different on the app compared to the small books I receive in the mail. Is it to do with my area/country? All in all I think Our Daily Bread is a really nice app to use everyday. God bless!💗 ### 5/5 — A very good daily habit *2025-11-29, version 5.4.0* I have been using the app for several years now, each day listening to the Bible reading, brief talk and short prayer, about 5 minutes in length, so can easily fitted into the the busiest of days. This is true to God's word, focused on Christ, and inspiring. I would suggest it is particularly good for new Christians to help and encourage them achieve the crucial daily habit of setting aside time to be with the Lord, and grow in faith, but also for mature Christians, as part of their daily devotionals. This much else besides the daily reading, including an evening meditation to prepare one for sleep. It is free, but I make a monthly contribution to support this good work for His Kingdom. ### 4/5 — Good App *2025-11-25, version 5.4.0* I like this app overall, I just really wish I could highlight Bible verses! If I could do that then I could replace my other Bible apps with this one. ### 5/5 — Daily Devotionals. *2025-11-16, version 5.3.6* ODB Daily Devotionals is the best way I have found to start my day focused on Jesus and take the time to read scripture beyond that on which each daily devotional is based. I really like the ability to listen as it is read out loud. It lets me close my eyes and shut everything else out and really hear and concentrate on what is being talked about. The other materials following the devotionals that are related to each daily scripture go further into more insights and keep me thinking and searching for more understanding. How come it keeps doing that? ### 1/5 — Missing Text *2026-07-17, version 5.5.7* App has missing text for several months now and today’s update didn’t resolve it. Version 5.5.7 I have been in contact with support throughout the entire time and still no resolution. ### 1/5 — Missing text *2026-05-24, version 5.5.1* App has missing text which never occurred until users were required to make an account in order to keep their daily progress! Tech support says they are still working on fixing this. ### 1/5 — Another update and STILL no new Bible versions added. *2026-04-22, version 5.5.0* So there has been ANOTHER ODB update, and yet there have not been any new Bible versions added to the app. I was told well over a year ago when I asked why there were only five common Bible versions available in the app after ODB stopped using Bible Gateway as their link to Scripture verses, that ODB was “working on” getting more versions. But after numerous updates that has STILL not happened. As I said in my last review, while I can understand why ODB felt the need to stop using Bible Gateway as their link for the Scripture verses, they should NOT have stopped using Bible Gateway UNTIL they had at least close to the same number of the most commonly used Bible versions that were available through Bible Gateway. In addition to that issue, I have also noticed that some of the devotional readings have become more “woke” in their content, which is both disappointing and disturbing. Sometimes the connection between the Bible verse, story and message is missing….like something was just haphazardly thrown together. I receive the paper version and have deleted the app. It is unfortunate because when I am not at home, the paper version isn’t with me. BUT we are upset that we can no longer listen to the older devotions with Les Lamborn. Daily, we would listen to the current devotion and then one from the older archives. You recently took this away from us. Is this some that will be fixed please. The devotions are beautifully written and photos are stunning. Heads up, if you have to adjust font size on your phone, some words will seem to “cut off.” (Today’s devotion was a great example of it). I changed the font on my phone back to a bit smaller but I’d love it if (in a future update), the text size was automatic.
