### 5/5 — Amzing App. MUST Have for Beach Lovers

*2016-01-18, version 1.4.4*

Amazing job in creating the nice, simple and user friendly app! I always passed by nice spots in Malibu while driving and didn't know where to park and how to access the beach in these areas.

This app helped me SO MUCH! Who ever thought about this must be appreciated and encouraged to keep it up!

Thanks and I wish developers give this app more exposure on media so people know how to access these beautiful beach spots

### 5/5 — Thank you for your work

*2015-10-09, version 1.4.2*

Incredible app and resource for anyone who's had their money forcefully confiscated by the IRS to pay something called, "Taxes". This app isn't just a win for Angelenos, Southern Californians, or beach lovers, it's a win for the people.

### 5/5 — About time we have this kind of info. Thank you!

*2015-09-07, version 1.4.3*

Beaches are public. It's the law. This app shows you how to stay within it. Just respect those people who have homes adjacent to public property. They are all not the enemy.

### 5/5 — Yeah really good tips

*2015-08-23, version 1.4.2*

Definitely am planning to try some of these tips only recommendation I would add is a way for users to add their own comments...maybe there is that already? Either way great concept and works well!!

### 5/5 — Great info on beach access for public

*2015-07-08, version 1.4.1*

This is a great informative app for accessing beaches in Malibu. I have often wondered the right to access some parts of the beach. Good to know that all wet sand is public and can be accessed from the ocean!

### 5/5 — Awesome application!

*2014-08-07, version 1.3.11*

I was driving down PCH when I remembered hearing about this app last year. Quickly got it downloaded and soon after found myself enjoying a beautiful Malibu beach. The access point was so easy to find using the GPS widget included in the app. Thank you so much for this open information and the encouragement to get out to the beach!

### 5/5 — Access to information is just as important as access to public beaches!

*2014-06-22, version 1.3.11*

This app is truly inspiring. A central repository of pictures and information on how the public can enjoy the beautiful beaches in the Malibu area is exactly what I needed. Now I'm an advocate of the belief that all of California's beaches should be shared and protected. Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2014-04-13, version 1.3.11*

It's accurate and informative, not to mention a great service to all of us who wouldn't know that access to this beautiful coastline is even possible. Thanks Jenny!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2013-10-20, version 1.3.11*

This is one of the most outstanding apps I have come across! It provides excellent accurate information on how all people can enjoy these beaches, the way it legally should be. I understand beach homeowners wanting their homes and space being respected, but they do NOT own all the beach and ocean. Putting up illegal signage and blocking legal public access to public beaches is evil. Buy this app, respect the beach houses and enjoy these beautiful beaches.

### 5/5 — THRILLED TO BE ABLE TO VISIT THE BEACH!!

*2013-08-24, version 1.3.6*

HOORAY for Jenny Price!! My Mom and I have discussed over the years how we would love to visit the beach but the homeowners do things to keep us out!! No more home owners. You shouldn't have been allowed to buy beach front property in the first place!! It belongs to ALL OF US!! LOVE THIS APP!!

### 5/5 — Best app

*2013-07-29, version 1.3.6*

Well done. I'm a local and no idea I had access to all these amazing beaches. I can't recommend this app enough to people that want to get away from the crowed and experience all LA has to offer.

### 5/5 — Brilliant idea! Can't believe no one had done this yet.

*2013-07-19, version 1.3.5*

I've only used it for one beach day so far, but everything about it was absolutely right on. I'm a California native and I think this app is really going to help me appreciate the beaches and go more often. I won't be taking CA for granted anymore :). Thank you!

### 5/5 — I like it!

*2013-07-12, version 1.3.5*

Very thorough and well thought out. All the details are here to fully enjoy a public resource that the über rich wishes you didn't visit.

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2013-07-06, version 1.3.5*

A few years back I made my way to one of these beaches. While holding my 3-year-olds hand walking barefoot in the surf a homeowner yelled to us, "you know this is a private beach and your trespassing!?". At that time all I knew to do is apologize and leave the surf with a disappointed boy. No longer thanks to you and this app! :)

### 5/5 — Amazing Public Service

*2013-07-06, version 1.3.5*

We used this to hit Escondido Beach. Not so hidden, yet,t he app made it happen for us. It is a well designed app that does what it says and does it well. Thank you.
You will be able to go off the beaten path and see how the top 1% lives

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — DONT believe her hype

*2013-06-13, version 1.3.5*

this app is a crock of bull. she's sending people into situations which will lead to them being escorted off some of these areas by security guards or cops. getting their cars towed or ticketed. Malibu residents are very keen on not having people on or around their properties. also she is going to get sued by residents whose houses she's pinpointing with numbers and descriptions. invasion of privacy. SAVE yourself the hassle and don't end up getting hassled by homeowners, security or cops. she will not be there when you're beach day ruined when you come back to a towed car or get kicked off your beach spot. I wouldn't
just lay down my towel where she says.

### 1/5 — Bad Info

*2013-06-04, version 1.3.5*

A lot of this info is misleading info that may get someone in trouble. Jenny Price doesn't write the laws (and same with homeowners) so research Easements set by the Coastal Commission. Homeowners don't pay hundreds of thousands or millions to keep people away from their property without a good, legally sound reason. Many homes require private space that can get you arrested for trespassing. Don't assume everything this egotistical (and smelly) hippie professes is legit.

### 1/5 — Terrible advice for visitors

*2013-06-01, version 1.3.5*

The "Top 5 Malibu Beach Trips" listing is ridiculous. All 5 are lined with private homes and there are no public amenities. They are very nice for a walk but that's about it. Everybody absolutely has the right to go and use these beaches but advising people to sit on the wet sand and in front of rows of houses is not the advice I'd give to any of my guests. There are fantastic state and county beaches all over Malibu that are much better if you want to put down your towel down on the sand for the day.
The app suggests playing volleyball on Carbon beach???? That's just stupid, there are no showers or restrooms. You could go to Zuma beach which is not only beautiful but has volleyball courts, parking, showers and restrooms.
Go beach-combing on Escondido???? Please do not comb any of the beach unless you're picking up trash. Leave the shells for the hermit crabs, do not disturb the tide pools, leave the rest of the beach on the beach and don't take it home!!!
I thought Jenny Price was an environmentalist but apparently she thinks collecting souvenirs from the environment is ok. Well it isn't ok anywhere ever. Leave the beach or any park as you found it always!
I can not believe people have paid Jenny Price $30,000 to grind her axe with this silly app.
I hope she will use some of the money to remove the "beach-combing" remark from the app and change the "Top 5 Malibu Beach Trips" to some really great choices of public beaches.

### 2/5 — Crashes

*2017-09-09, version 1.4.7*

Cool for personal use, but if you want to share a beach with someone...say that's trying to find you. It crashes. So you end up having to send 3/4 confusing screenshots

### 2/5 — Could be much better!

*2014-07-28, version 1.3.11*

There's some good info here, but app could use serious help. And why does the author find it necessary to have a big pic of herself on every new page that opens? Is Jenny that vain? Does she think that much of herself? Does she have self portraits everywhere at home and work too?

What a waste of valuable space.

### 2/5 — Location services won't turn off.

*2013-06-18, version 1.3.5*

Even after closing the app, and shutting it down completely with the red bubble, location services is still active. This is a massive drain and potentially a privacy issue. Please fix this in the next update! Otherwise good app. It would be better if it could link to yelp for extra reviews, as lots of the written text is pretty snarky.

### 3/5 — Cool idea, terrible directions

*2014-04-29, version 1.3.11*

I tried using this app last weekend to get to Carbon Beach. Using the apps directions feature, I was redirected twice to an area almost 10 miles away from the correct address. I was eventually able to navigate to the address of the beach (which the app was right about) but with no help from the app.

### 3/5 — Location Services Always On

*2013-07-05, version 1.3.5*

Seems great so far. Very detailed. I will readjust my rating once they fix the "always on" location services. I can't lose my battery power over this one app always using my location even when I'm not using the app. No other app has this failure. Otherwise great idea and Thank You!

### 4/5 — Great info, shameless self-promotion

*2013-07-05, version 1.3.5*

This is a wonderful app uncovering great public beaches. It would have been a 5 star app but I was really turned off by the shameless self promotion of the author.

Does EVERY single beach page need her photo and not one, but TWO links to her bio? That's annoying and ridiculous.

### 4/5 — Promising App

*2013-06-27, version 1.3.5*

This is a great, promising app. I love it! I found out about it on perhaps a digg/Kickstarter article. It seems very thorough. I'd recommend turning off location services for this app--it drained by battery very quickly until I realized that this version of this app does not disable location services on its own...

### 5/5 — Malibu Beach Rules

*2024-05-28*

Important to remember when going to any of the Malibu beaches, you have to follow rules for LA County beaches. No dogs, no smoking, no alcohol, no tents, no littering, no drones, no amplified music, no fires or BBQs, no fireworks, etc. Would be helpful to have this list of rules in the app under Basics.

### 5/5 — John Adair is awesome

*2023-07-28*

Thanks for making this app, I hope you keep updating for 2023 and beyond!

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2023-07-03*

Beach access for all!!! Best enjoy what access to the coast we have before all the billionaires and millionaires houses fall into the ocean screwing it up for the rest of us to enjoy for generations to come. What a waste of money & resources they’ve spent on disappearing real estate.

### 5/5 — Get our beaches back

*2020-05-24, version 2.0.4*

Part travel guide, part snarky color, part political commentary. The links to email local officials, so that we can easily give input on the illegality of Malibu homeowners’ wily ways, is a nice feature. Reclaim our beaches with this app in hand.

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful!

*2019-07-07, version 2.0.3*

This app is fantastic. Thank you

### 5/5 — Awesome App!!

*2018-10-16, version 1.4.11*

Love this app so complete and detailed, great way to discover new beaches and access points

### 5/5 — Love the beach

*2018-07-15, version 1.4.11*

I’m excited to try this app out. Thanks for making it 😎

### 5/5 — Nor Cal Native

*2018-06-25, version 1.4.10*

I prefer the beaches up north but when I’m down visiting it’s cool to be able to get to more open, less crowded beaches. Sometimes they’re even devoid of anyone else and you have the beach to yourself for the afternoon

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2018-02-01, version 1.4.8*

An amazing app.

### 5/5 — Awesome app for avid beachgoers nearby!

*2017-07-19, version 1.4.7*

NY transplant now based in LA & love to go to the beach - this app covers all the bases for planning a beach excursion! Photos and details about parking, signage, easements, and entryways make exploring the gorgeous beaches of Malibu much easier for a relative newcomer (& cheaper, thanks to instructions re: free parking and public transport). Thank you so much from this frequent user!
