Not really a game. *2018-05-20* This is not really a game or a choose your adventure, it’s a graphic novel where you can make mistakes and have to start over from a checkpoint. I had hoped it was a blend of that and “Out There”, but it’s not. It’s very linear, and there aren’t really any twists, just false choices. Make the wrong choice? You die, go back to checkpoint. That’s not “decisions that matter” that just black and white decisions. That said, art and music are 5 stars. The story is pretty cool and paints a gorgeously creative picture of experiencing an alien universe, but again the linearity combined with the shortness does make the experience a bit underwhelming. But perhaps that’s just because it’s so creative and awesome, that I want more. I wish I could bring the universe it creates to any of a number of sci-fi games with real gameplay but lackluster story and characters. Requires some not perfectly logical leaps of reasoning, but then again this is standard fare for adventures since 1001 Arabian Nights. The closest movie I could compare it to is Legend, with a firmer plot. $3.99 for the bundle seems insanely cheap compared to a graphic novel, and this was far more engaging. It's a great game, and I love the concept, I've just never been good enough at it to get very far. However, I am a huge fan of visual novels/choose your own adventures, and I'm blown away by this one. I've never played such an immersive or detailed CYOA before, and it genuinely makes me want to go back and give the original another go. Beautiful artwork, a fantastic storyline, a relatable (yet cynical) main character, intriguing side characters and overall an experience that makes you feel a part of this vast, very alien universe. It has its minor flaws such as places where I feel a word or two is missing, (people have reported bugs/crashes, but as of this time, I've never encountered either). anywho aside from that it's an incredible experience, and if given a chance, you'll lose yourself in it, guaranteed! My only real complaint? It's not long enough! ### 3/5 — ‘Sallright *2018-01-31, version 1.0.6* How much enjoyment you get out of this will probably depend a lot on your own personal background as the first chapter uses nationalistic and religious narratives to propel the story. So if you get hung up on those things you may be left feeling offended. Those things aside there’s some stuff to like and stuff that’s not so great. On the upside the developer put together an art and sound package that fits the game well. The story is passable and of sufficient length that I doubt you’ll finish it in a couple of hours like some Tell Tale games. And whether you consider their story elements original or not it does at least feel like they have their worlds and races somewhat thought out. No Klingons or Wookiee’s (so far👍 ). On the down side I’d say the English is good but not always fluid. I don’t know if this was poor typing or someone just not knowing exactly the right phraseology. Technically the game seems too stick you with a predetermined number of choices that fit on the screen and if you then don’t choose a certain option early you can find yourself stuck until you clear away some dross. In other words I don’t think they necessarily use a dialogue tree and in the instances where time is critical it can make a difference. Is it worth a couple bucks, yeah, if you like the old school story based games. Will I buy the next chapter, eh, maybe if I get a desire to delve back into their universe and see what creatures and worlds they’re creating, otherwise I’m not a fan of the protagonist that I’m stuck with playing. ### 5/5 — Одна из лучших фантастических визуальных новелл *2018-01-28, version 1.0.6* Интересный сюжет, живые герои, неожиданные повороты, забавные пришельцы и сложные ситуации. Да, игра отчасти линейна, но от этого хуже не становится. 5+ ждем продолжения истории! So, that’s a strike against me for possibly coming to an erroneous conclusion. (God help me, now all I hear in my head is Trump saying, “There is no collusion”) Anyway, there are a number of references to Christian religiosity, however I got confused when there were several references to a, “Catholic Cross” I’m a catholic of (at this point the writer closes his eyes and softly clears his throat) 3 score years and I never knew that a Catholic Cross was any different than that used by that used by our Protestant brethren. So I thought that was a little weird. An importantish military protagonist in the story is portrayed wearing a Roman collar. I think I know which way the wind is going to blow for the rest of the game, in reference to a not so subtle anti-Catholic drift, so I stopped playing. That’s it, an incomplete assessment at best. ### 1/5 — Stucked and no support *2018-02-04, version 1.0.6* I’m stuck at one point and tried to reach out for support, but no reply since a long time. ### 1/5 — Bugged *2018-01-27* Don't waste your time. On iOS this game is unfinishable. At the end of chapter one it is impossible to get the tool from the maintenance guy quickly enough. You can get it and capture Nyx but you will always did to the AI. Other versions have a different order of questions available to the mechanic but the iOS version is messed up. ### 1/5 — Sauvegarde disparue! *2018-01-27, version 1.0.6* Ma sauvegarde vient juste de disparaître , dès que je lance le jeu, je retourne au début de l’histoire. J’avais presque à la fin (j’imagine après presque deux heures )!!!! J’ai vu que ce bug était corrigé , mais visiblement il est toujours présent (j’ai la toute dernière version installé le 15 janvier 2018), je ne crois pas avoir le courage de tout recommencer, dommage. ### 1/5 — Nyx is impossible. *2018-01-27, version 1.0.6* I played this a while ago and I think something has changed and thrown off the Nyx encounter. Preciously, to defeat Nyx the player needed to get to her in enough time to attack and take over the AI but the choice selection has changed and now it seems impossible to get through that part no matter what variation is used ### 1/5 — Biased against Christians *2018-01-25* You can’t tell this from the description, but as the story progresses, you learn that the society is very "religious," and claim to be believers in Jesus the Savior. But this turns into an evil thing and they are not as innocent as they appear. Basically, it has the same anti Christian feel as The Handmaiden's Tale. So if you’re into that, get the app. If you’re a Christian, it may bother you.
