### 4/5 — Good, but I liked episode 1 better

*2019-08-27, version 1.0.3*

The writing and mechanics of this game are as good as the first episode. However, I'm not really into the whole battle thing although I really like science fiction. The first game involved more exploration and interaction between various alien and human characters. The ideas were really fresh too. Episode 2 involved a lot more fighting, so I wasn't really in a hurry to pick it up and continue each time I stopped. Still, it had good character development and continued relationships from the previous game. The underlying theme of seeking one's people, a home, and spiritual meaning were also continued and deepened from human as well as various alien perspectives.

### 4/5 — Good continuation

*2019-03-04, version 1.0.3*

Good add on chapter with room for more glitches still exist between scenes though

### 4/5 — Stylish Follow Up

*2018-03-18, version 1.0.3*

More of the same, if you liked the originals then this is good too

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2018-02-13*

Fantastic story, always intriguing and wonderfully alien! Beautiful artwork that holds up the feel of the story. It really draws you in and makes you want to see the story through. I love the aspect of being able to choose how you respond to situations; and although it’s inflexible at times, it adequately satisfies the desire to choose the responses you’re comfortable with, whether you’re the kind of person that wants everyone to be their friend, or enemy.
There’s nothing ‘out there’ quite like the Out There chronicles, and I eagerly anticipate the next segment!

### 4/5 — Checkpoints charlots

*2018-01-31*

### 5/5 — Fantastic follow-up!

*2018-01-28, version 1.0.1*

This game has one of the most intriguing storylines I’ve come across. Highly recommend if you like text-based games.

### 4/5 — Magnifique, histoire riche mais...

*2018-01-28*

### 5/5 — Didn’t experience any bugs

*2018-01-28*

Your choices matter - not just in this game but in future chapters. This is possible because most of the game is in text. The story is good. For the next game, I hope there are even more choices and multiple major endings for the finale.

What I didn’t like was that in many cases there was only one ultra specific solution instead of multiple solutions. Minor gripe if your choices have major consequences and there’s a ton of replay ability.

### 5/5 — Interesting story, bugged Horatio battle plan

*2018-01-27*

The story is intriguing, and the puzzles are interesting to work through. There is a bug in the large battle with Horatio where if you decide on bad battle plan ideas and then talk to Subtle about the Jesus-like dream you had about him, the checkpoint is placed there so you can’t change the other battle plan elements and are locked into an endless losing loop.

### 4/5 — Bon

*2018-01-27*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — False advertising

*2023-08-21*

It’s 100% linear with one ending. Beautiful graphic though..

### 1/5 — Bourée de bugs

*2018-01-27*

### 1/5 — I die no matter what!!!

*2018-01-27*

I’m stuck in a loop where I’m a huge battle with Horacio and I tell Nix to come save me, but before she gets there I always die.

### 1/5 — Missing Story?

*2018-01-26*

Game was great until I got to a point where I’m hailed as a hero for taming the desert. Next thing I know Horatio shows up orders my death and the checkpoint starts me at the same place where I’m hailed as a hero. No choices to make, no where to go, same thing over and over. Can’t go back, have to start over.

### 2/5 — Should have an upper age limit

*2018-02-09, version 1.0.3*

The pictures are OK but the text and the storyline is juvenile rubbish. Unless you are aged 10 or less, avoid.

### 2/5 — Death loop

*2018-02-05*

After removing war paint, Game creates checkpoint. Speak to Yenngara. Horatio comes and I die. No options available but new game

### 2/5 — Great story, just wait until the bugs get sorted

*2018-01-26*

I bought this on v1 and they finally fixed a bug where I was stuck on an infinite loop with v1.0.1. Now I’m stuck on another loop and can’t enter the ship without being noticed no matter what sequence I use. Infinitely annoying, so I’ll have to wait until they fix it. Episode 1 was great so if thats any indication of this episode, when its fixed, it will be great!

Also, there are a lot of continuity errors and spelling errors in this so far. I got a spear from Yennega, then I have to get another spear from the arsenal to hunt? What?

### 3/5 — Problem with scene changes

*2019-10-27, version 1.0.3*

Glitch

### 3/5 — Great, but still has issues

*2018-07-28, version 1.0.3*

Great story and good follow up of the 1rst episode, but there's surprisingly a lot of textual errors for a final product. Also, there is some incoherences with the story and the choices given to the player. Depending on your choice, the story will contradict itself and is somewhat confusing. Not as pith perfect as the first, so I'm disappointed. Wait for updates before buying in my opinion, because the gameplay and story are still awesome.

### 4/5 — 3.7/5

*2019-09-30*

Although this game raises a whole new set of questions, and does not fall back on the first episode for answers, it still fails to present you with a wide specter of choices, to the point where there’s hardly any decision taking, and it becomes more like “choosing the right choice” type of game, even though the logic behind the “right choice” is not solid or does not make a perfect sense. Lots of cool ideas, ideas that will intrigue your curiosity and imagination, nonetheless, they seem to be rushed, not coherent, and most of the times they’ll end up abruptly, with a silly/absurd resolution... And yet, I can’t wait for the third episode to comes out!

### 5/5 — Une suite de prévue ?

*2023-03-09*

### 5/5 — Loved it

*2018-02-26*

### 5/5 — Great!

*2018-02-24*

Love this world they have created. Any review saying there is no solution just didn’t figure it out. This episode is shorter than the first. Length of game is my only complaint.
