## What is Outclose?

Stop hoping to randomly "bump into" your people. Let us engineer the introduction. We all have spent years navigating digital spaces, hoping to stumble upon a sense of belonging that feels genuine. Outclose is the invitation to finally stop searching and start arriving.

There is a specific kind of magic that only happens across a dinner table. Outclose curates the company so you can rediscover the lost art of a real conversation.

We believe the most profound connections are found in the warmth of a voice, the experience of a shared meal, and the unexpected wit of a stranger. This isn't just dinner; it’s the end of the search.

▶ THE ART OF THE INTRODUCTION ◀
[ Composed, Not Random ] We begin by understanding the cadence of your personality. Our matching is an intentional craft, ensuring that the five LGBTQ+ people seated across from you aren't just strangers—they are your peers, chosen for their compatibility with your spirit and your social energy.

[ The Sanctuary of Six ] A table of six is a deliberate masterpiece. It is small enough for meaningful, close conversation, yet vibrant enough to spark a debate. It is the perfect geometry for a night where every voice carries weight and every story finds a home.

[ Hand-Picked Tables ] The backdrop matters as much as the guests. We partner with local, inclusive sanctuaries—restaurants that prioritize atmosphere and conversation over the frantic pace of the city.

[ The Ease of Arrival ] We handle the logistics so you can focus on the presence. We manage the reservation, the group, and the spark of the evening. Your only requirement is to show up, sit down, and let the evening unfold.

[ The Found Family ] The check arrives, but the connection remains. When the night clicks, our space makes it effortless to keep the momentum alive. What starts as a shared meal frequently matures into the deep understanding of a chosen family.

▶ WHY OUTCLOSE? ◀
Curated Groups: We pair individuals with complementary temperaments to ensure the conversation never falters.
Platonic Friendships: A dedicated realm for building a social circle, free from the exhaustion of dating expectations.
A Universal Welcome: A space designed specifically for every identity across the LGBTQ+ spectrum to feel seen and celebrated.
Real-World Depth: Trade the performative digital life for the relief of an authentic, in-person introduction.

▶ THE PATH TO THE TABLE ◀
Reflect: Tell us about the person you are and the people you’re looking for.
Select: Choose your city and your preferred evening.
Reveal: Receive your curated invitation and the location of your table.
Connect: Step out of the scroll and into a night designed for you.

[ What’s Included ]
Expert LGBTQ+ compatibility matching.
A confirmed seat at a vetted, inclusive local restaurant.
Thoughtful prompts to move the conversation toward the meaningful.

[ A Note on the Night ] Outclose curates the connection; guests are responsible for ordering and settling their own dinner bills directly with the restaurant. We provide the community; you provide the presence.

### 1/5 — The worst

*2026-08-16, version 1.0.15*

I had a paid Outclose membership and tried two different events before deciding to cancel my membership—with four months still remaining—because both experiences were so disappointing.

The first event was brunch. About half of the group canceled. One of the people who did attend brought a friend they already knew, which completely changed the dynamic of what was supposed to be a group of people meeting one another. It was difficult to engage when two people arrived together and naturally already had an established conversation and relationship. There was also no option to split the bill, so I ended up contributing toward other people’s drinks rather than simply paying for what I ordered.

I still decided to give Outclose another chance and attended a coffee meetup. That experience was worse. When I arrived, there wasn’t even a reserved table or seat for the group. I ordered a pastry while waiting and was then told I couldn’t sit at the table because of what I had ordered. No one offered to take an additional order for tea, and I wasn’t even offered a glass of water. I essentially had to beg a server to come over and serve me.

I understand that Outclose cannot control every cancellation or every interaction with restaurant staff. But I paid for a membership because I expected the service to organize and facilitate a comfortable, functional environment for meeting other LGBTQ+ people. Across two events, the basic organization simply wasn’t there.

I canceled my membership despite still having four months remaining. I’d rather lose the remaining time I already paid for than attend another event.

### 1/5 — Needs Improvement

*2026-07-31, version 1.0.14*

I was really hoping this app would introduce me to other members in the community who are around my age. However, after selecting the “my age” criteria, I constantly kept getting matched with people who were relatively a lot older than myself. This happened on 3 different occasions and the vibes were really awkward with how skewed the ages were compared to myself. It’s more about where people are at in their lives and needs to create a space for everyone. I hope this app approves and has an age range preference.

### 3/5 — No options for lesbian meetups.

*2026-07-21, version 1.0.11*

The app offers “men” “sapphic” and “mixed”. Where is the option for women who only want to meet other women? Why are nonbinary people not included in gay men’s meetups? Poor attempt at inclusivity that makes it seem like this is an app for gay men and bisexual people only

### 2/5 — It’s stuck!

*2026-07-19, version 1.0.11*

Signed up earlier today and the event I rsvp’d tp wasn’t available in any neighborhood. Then a screen came up regarding cookies and the app froze. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling same issue. I love the idea of your site but too many bugs! Also please add Corning or Elmira NY to your list of cities.

### 1/5 — Stuck on cookies page

*2026-07-06, version 1.0.11*

Really wanted this to be legit. The sapphic community would do so well with a Time Left version just for us — we desperately need it actually. So sad it looks like maybe it was just vibe coded and released early / sloppily.

### 1/5 — waste of money

*2026-06-23*

quality of guys are bad , and one guy keep talking in the dinner , ruined the whole experience

### 1/5 — User beware! FAKE!

*2026-06-06, version 1.0.7*

Great it idea. Too bad the experience is all fake. First. The app looks like it was vibe coded with AI so it’s has zero personality and looks corporate af. Second. I paid $15 for them to schedule a brunch. They said I’d have restaurant and group chat available 24hrs before the event. It’s 6 hrs and I have no details. There is no customer service to deal with your problem. DO NOT download this app. I’m convinced it’s a scam.

### 1/5 — Not for me…

*2026-05-30, version 1.0.7*

Four people did not show up out of 7. Was kinda awkward. Food was good. Atmosphere was nice but very expensive. To do this 4 times in a month is like another car payment. If this is how it’s run, I do not recommend.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-04-21, version 1.0.4*

They should tell you before providing personal information that it’s $20 a month. You spend 10 minutes filling out a questionnaire and provide your phone number before they tell you it costs $20. This is a total scam, I better not get a single spam text from them.

### 1/5 — This is only suited for the “exclusive gays.”

*2026-04-11, version 1.0.4*

I downloaded this in the hopes of meeting other people, open minded to a diverse collection of my peers, but they only seem to be focused on the North Halsted/Boystown area of Chicago. I guess gays/restaurants that aren’t in that area of Chicago don’t matter.
