It has worked fine on all of my devices over the years, from an iPod 3, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7Plus, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPad Air 1 and iPad Air 5, both online and offline (they load very fast on my iPhone 16 and iPad Air 5, both online and offline)- no problems whatsoever. Yes, some of the downloaded maps are now very old, and the app hasn’t been updated in over 2 years (which is a bit worrying) but still works fine with iOS & iPadOS 26.5.2. However I have to say it’s very poor. It doesn’t snap to paths, and if you want to modify the route it seems impossible other than starting again. Why do so may people seemingly have lots of problems confuses me - what are they doing wrong? ### 1/5 — Map key does not work *2024-05-30, version 6.5.7* It is impossible to zoom into the map key which is too small to be viewed ### 2/5 — Red bubbles *2024-05-06, version 6.5.7* Please get rid of the red bubbles of other peoples walks. I’m not a sheep. This isn’t all trails, or the horrific os maps. Just give me the mapping layer, clearly presented with no clutter. ### 1/5 — No Northern Ireland? *2024-02-12, version 6.5.7* Looks a nice enough app, but since it doesn’t (at least in the default) include maps for Northern Ireland I’m not interested. ### 2/5 — Seriously out of date *2023-11-07, version 6.5.7* Major new road open for 4 + years not shown. Response to email pitiful ### 3/5 — Ok *2023-09-14, version 6.5.7* But not a patch on OS ### 1/5 — Missing map tiles *2023-09-02, version 6.5.7* Too many missing map tiles on the maps downloaded for offline use. Very frustrating. The workaround is to switch to OS Unlimited then use WiFi or mobile data to zoom in on the map area with the missing tiles. If this happens in an area without mobile signal you are left without the map you need. ### 1/5 — It doesn’t work offline! *2023-08-22, version 6.5.6* The reason I bought this app, to use it offline. I downloaded maps, but it still doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money. This app doesn’t work offline. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2023-08-08, version 6.5.6* Installed it, ran it for 5 mins, deleted it. ### 1/5 — Can’t test app without making an account. *2023-06-12, version 6.5.6* Forget it, I don’t want to make an account just to test the app. There are enough companies with my email address as it is… I don’t need to give my details to another one, just so they can sell them on for profit. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A little buggy and downloaded maps are at least 20yrs out of date *2026-01-03, version 6.5.7* I have been using this app for about 12 yrs, basic navigation is great, but it’s buggy, cannot always delete routes, difficult to share routes, you have to go through there website to shar, and then it takes an age for the routes to download to your device Off line maps are very old could be over. 20yrs old. Map key goes blank if you zoom in on iOS. I am trying OS map app now £17.50 ### 1/5 — Cant even sign up *2025-11-30, version 6.5.7* Downloaded, tried to sign up: entered username, email, password. Wheel spins for 2 mins followed by “unknown error”. Absolute rubbish. Thank floops for memory map!!! ### 1/5 — Accidentally bought *2025-10-20, version 6.5.7* I accidentally bought this app for 12 months I asked for a refund straight away and was refused! So be careful the app company seem very unhelpful and not at all understanding. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2025-10-18, version 6.5.7* When I use on my Mac and click the search button to type in a location or address, the app just closes instantly. I’ve emailed customer services months ago but received no response. Until a new version is out that fixes this it’s not worth buying ### 1/5 — Purchases stopped working! *2025-09-28, version 6.5.7* This was quite good when it worked, would show where you were on an OS map and the subscription for those maps was cheap. Route planning was a bit vague at best but gave the idea. But the OS maps suddenly stopped working 3 months into the one year subscription. Without OS maps it’s pretty pointless. I have had no response to my messages asking for this to be fixed! ### 1/5 — Not quite what it could be *2025-05-08, version 6.5.7* Used to be able to switch to cycle map which was a bit clunky to use but still useful to find safer routes. Now the deal has changed and it is no longer possible to buy maps for life. I had bought several but now one has to pay an annual subscription to cover the entire nation which I do not want which does not honour the original deal. Very disappointing. I will be buying similar app elsewhere. ### 1/5 — wasted my money *2025-04-19, version 6.5.7* Too many issues to list. Headlines are 1) unintuitive and buggy for finding routes, 2) can’t work out how to delete places, 3) bug on zooming on map key and can’t read as too small. 4) downloaded AA routes and no idea how to access them by. What a disappointment. I am requesting a refund. ### 1/5 — All wrong *2025-01-05, version 6.5.7* 1: it states cheaper than os maps but the normal price isn’t. 2. It gives an offer I clicked on then it disappeared and charged me more. 3: MOST IMPORTANT if coming back into a route or crossing it the app trots up “turning point” which it is t and won’t let me log anymore 4. When plotting a route it is difficult as the route disappears when touching the map to move around them reappears. ALL IN ALL THE WORST IF THE APPS. ### 1/5 — Still the worst *2024-10-06, version 6.5.7* All the negative reviews seem to have been deleted. This app was once the goto app for hikers. You could tap the map and it would gove you a bearing to that point. All the features map users needed have been removed. I have spent a lot of money buying the maps which are now useless for amything other than visual and I can get that for free elsewhere. Shame on this app developer. You didn’t and won’t listen to the people that bought your product. ### 1/5 — Adding insult to injury *2024-06-05, version 6.5.7* You have been bombarded by a huge number of negative reviews since the recent updates but you have have now chosen to delete those reviews. We have been sold an app which now doesn’t work properly, particularly in offline / downloaded mode. I contacted support by email wondering whether I’d ever get a reply. They responded quickly and resolved the matter. Allows you to have large areas e.g. 'South West England' downloaded ready to go wherever you find yourself. ### 5/5 — Used for 6years *2024-10-01, version 6.5.7* So simple, open it up tap a button and there you are, never lost. Follow a route, create a route, track yourself or just have it open and use as a regular map every now and then confirm where you are by pressing the button. I've got it on two iphones an ipad and my laptop, no extra charge. ### 5/5 — Great app *2024-07-02, version 6.5.7* Easy to use - although I did have a glitch downloading specific maps the help desk sorted it for me 👍 ### 5/5 — Top class navigation app *2023-07-16* I’ve had this app for 5 years and during that time been shown other contenders. However, I have yet to find anything that is as good and reliable. You need to ensure you read the instructions but it is by far the best and most accurate way I have ever used to plot a route and then follow it. The function that allows you to download various maps is also invaluable if you are out of a decent mobile data signal, meaning you can navigate without the need to use data.
