### 5/5 — Fantastic, would definitely recommend :)

*2024-07-30, version 3.2.3*

Very useful, plenty of options for studying formats. I’m trying to teach myself the basics of Italian and this is really helping with memorization. This app is an excellent resource :)

### 4/5 — Sign in error

*2024-03-08, version 3.1.1*

For some reason the login screen doesn’t allow prompting for using password manager. Is there a way to fix that? Or add Face ID login option?
Thanks for great app

### 4/5 — Best Flashcard App Ever

*2024-03-04, version 3.1.1*

I would like to tell any first time user to save, double save, heck, even triple save your flashcard sets every time you make a change or it will delete itself! I even do it when I am importing sets because it doesn’t automatically save. I learned the hard way when I made a 50 card set and I came back to nothing. The developer did not respond to my email about this issue, but hopefully he is aware of it. I have to give it four stars because of the saving issue. But other than that, this app has cut down my long study time from 5 hours just to under two hours. This app is a game-changer. If Anki and Quizlet had a kid, it would be this app. I recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a fresh, creative new flashcard app to study.

### 5/5 — I love it but…

*2024-01-09*

I wish it had a built in spelling and grammar checker for both the PC and Phone version. I think that would make it better 10 fold, as well as an easier way to share study sets to friends and for them to receive it.

### 5/5 — Quizzlet learn but FREE

*2023-11-09, version 3.0.9*

This app is basically a flash card app just like quizzlet. However, the binge learn function( which is a lot like quizzlet learn) is free to use. There is a long term term function that you can pay for at a simple price, but binge learn should be just sufficient for any test. I love how the developer actually cares about students like himself.

### 4/5 — Wish it had more

*2023-09-05*

I love OutLearn. I have been using it super often to learn terminology and to study for tests. I have OutLearn pro and I love it. But I wish it included more. I feel like there should be a page scanner that allows you to scan images and insert text from images. I also would like to see color coding. This app is overall so amazing and really helps you learn. I totally recommend it!!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2023-08-31*

I love it, it’s really effective, especially when you are trying to learn a lot of words

### 5/5 — I

*2023-04-30, version 3.0.6*

Like

### 5/5 — Excellent support

*2023-03-10, version 3.0.1*

I had a small issue after the new update so I contacted the creator and it was immediately resolved. The app is great for making flash cards and being able to study them offline.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-11-28, version 2.3.0*

Really cool platform with awesome customer support. Writing my math in LaTex makes it much easier to learn! Definitely worth a try :)

### 5/5 — Good overall. Little laggy

*2022-09-16, version 2.3.0*

I do really like the learn function. However, after awhile, the app starts to lag. A bug I think that can be fixed in an update or something.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Great app, but bugs and non-existent tech support

*2025-05-30, version 3.6.0*

Compared to other spaced repetition apps on the App Store, the one time fee for a pro version rather than a subscription was very enticing. Overall the mobile and desktop features of the app are well designed, and I was initially very satisfied with the purchase. I particularly enjoy the aesthetic of OutLearn over the other spaces repetition apps that I have used in the past.

That being said: recently I have been experiencing some issues during card creation and review that make the app difficult to use on mobile. I reached out to the support contact in the app with my issues twice, and both times I got a return message that suggests the support email is non-existent or not set up correctly.

Hoping that the developer can resolve the tech support issues, as I really do enjoy the app and would love to give a higher rating. However, not being able to report issues I am experiencing is a big turn off and making me regret my purchase.

### 2/5 — Great app as long as you are not using an iPhone

*2024-10-23, version 3.4.0*

I have been using this app on a Samsung tablet and on my laptop and it works brilliantly, unfortunately on an iPhone it doesn’t matter if I’m using the app or web version it just won’t load properly, very disappointing

### 2/5 — doesn’t support other languages

*2022-09-12, version 2.3.0*

i was looking for a replacement for the learn function in quizlet, which i usually use to memorize vocab sets for my korean class. while i can see the potential for this app and from what i saw it works decently in its current state, however it does not seem to be currently compatible with other languages. when i go to the binge learn and try to type the definitions, the app doesn’t recognize the korean characters.

### 2/5 — Can’t Access Deck Anymore

*2022-04-21, version 2.3.0*

I’m disappointed. I had high hopes. I paid for the full version and everything was fine until suddenly my deck crashed while I was in the middle of building it. Now, every time I open it I get a gray, unresponsive screen that I can’t tap out of without restarting the app entirely. I’m worried this will happen every time I try to build or edit a deck, and I can’t deal with that sort of instability :(

### 3/5 — Good but some bugs

*2024-12-08, version 3.5.0*

whenever I use this on my ipad to make decks, if i try to scroll up it starts insta scrolling all the way to the top which is really really annoying
otherwise good app
sucks that the price changed though

### 3/5 — Amazing app and concept, very lacking in reliability and customer support.

*2024-10-05, version 3.4.0*

Extremely user-friendly, simplified interface and settings. Great for people who don't like super complex programs to make flashcards, like Anki. The occlusion feature is a plus itself, but it's also very intelligently made in the OutLearn app.
Great price, too!

The fact that I can make an account and use cloud technology to keep the app synced between my ipad and Mac made me think that the app would support large amounts of data/cards and multimedia cards. I use it for anatomy so I have made over 500 cards so far. Some of the cards have removed the images, so I'm left with blank cards with floating imagine occlusion stickers.
The app is very glitchy, and so is the web version with frequent freezing, so I have to force quit and re-open it but the card I was working on is gone. Loading time takes very very long. Off line mode doesn't work for me at all.
Severa different places in the app instruct the user to email the developer if there are issues, which I did, and never got a response.

### 3/5 — Keeps deleting my decks

*2022-11-30, version 2.3.0*

It’s advertised as a Quizlet alternative and it works well enough, but you have to pay to get more options besides the flash cards. You do get to rate your confidence in the flash cards and can type your answer like Learn if you want to, but it often glitches and the app will crash if you try to type it too many times. It also keeps deleting my decks. I’ve made a total of 12 decks with 40+ cards each and three of them have been randomly deleted and can’t be recovered. Like I’d make it, save it, use the deck multiple times, and then the next day there’s no sign of it and I have to start all over. A good alternative to quizlet but the glitches

### 4/5 — Great, minor bugs

*2024-12-13, version 3.5.0*

I use this as an alternative to quizlet. I use it for biology and anatomy. Honestly, the fifteen dollars pro option is definitely worth it because it is not a subscription, just a one time purchase. However, some minor bugs make it a little harder to use. Overall, it’s way better than quizzlet, especially with the pro features. Also very customizable! I’m never using quizlet again (sorry, quizlrt!)

### 4/5 — Best Features out there, almost flawless execution

*2024-07-09, version 3.2.3*

It has everything I want and more. Latex, learn, pictures, colors, and importing/exporting with custom separators. Latex is for pro only which is fine, but what’s great is that it’s a cheap one time fee for pro

There’s a couple things I’d love to see
- command F when using the browser
- slow when using firefox
- can’t delete a card from learn
- can’t shuffle cards when doing learn long term
- can’t search for card on mobile

### 4/5 — Wish it had more

*2024-04-24, version 3.2.3*

I love OutLearn. I have been using it super often to learn terminology and to study for tests. I have OutLearn pro and I love it. But I wish it included more. I feel like there should be a page scanner that allows you to scan images and insert text from images. I also would like to see color coding. This app is overall so amazing and really helps you learn. I totally recommend it!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Using this app for over 4 years, it’s definitely THE best!

*2026-01-27, version 3.8.0*

I’ve been using OutLearn for 4 years now, through my 2 years of GCSE’s, AS Level and now in my final year of A-Levels :) It 100% is the best app I’ve used for revising and the ChatGPT generated flashcards are a life saver! With using OutLearn I got 5 A/A*s and 4 B’s at GCSE, and a B in A-Level Biology. < which shows how much it helps!

### 5/5 — Very good app

*2026-01-03, version 3.7.1*

This is the only app I use for flashcards and I love it. The creator is very kind to make it free and the different modes of learning are very useful. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Best Flashcard Option

*2025-08-10, version 3.6.0*

Honestly the best free option for spaced repetition. This app alone got me through Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and Medical Terminology. Never going back to Quizlet

### 5/5 — Quizlet if they weren’t greedy and actually cared about there users

*2025-03-06, version 3.5.0*

I used to use Quizlet learn to help me study until they locked it behind a paywall. I found this app and I’ve been getting 90s-100s on every test since I installed it. The flashcards system it has is great especially the binge mode. I’m also using long-term for my finals and AP tests coming up. Premium version is also a one time payment thats well worth the buy. This app without a doubt saved my school year and I would highly recommend it for anyone who doesn’t wanna get ripped off by quizlet.

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-02-12, version 3.5.0*

This is a great free alternative to Quizlet. I love the learn options and the app is easy to navigate. This app is so much easier to understand than Quizlet

### 5/5 — Very Efficient

*2025-01-03, version 3.5.0*

For a free studying app I find this to be very useful in terms of learning new languages. The only problem I have is some simple bug glitches on mobile such as scrolling when making cards. Amazing app if you want to study or take test using made flashcards for free.

### 5/5 — Better Than Quizlet

*2024-12-08, version 3.5.0*

I was looking for a way to put math equations on Quizlet but they didn’t support it. This app supports LaTeX which makes studying math way easier.

### 5/5 — Best Flashcard App Ever

*2024-10-07, version 3.4.0*

I recommend this app to all of my friends! This app is single-handedly going to get me through college. It’s easy to use, provides effective study, and it’s super simple to import flashcard sets from other platforms. I got so sick of Quizlet charging me for anything beyond studying five flashcards. I’ve switched to OutLearn and I’m never going back

### 5/5 — Lovely app

*2024-10-05, version 3.4.0*

I’m still testing it but so far I am impressed by the quality of this, especially after seeing that the app developer is a one-person team!

### 5/5 — Goodbye Quizlet

*2024-09-16, version 3.4.0*

I have been using OutLearn ever since Quizlet added paid features onto their app. I can assure you I am never switching back!
