Firstly it wouldn’t work on safari browser. So I got this app and there is no landscape mode! It’s 2021 and no landscape mode for an interview app... Then there is the UI which is amateurish to say the least. Then two days after taking the interviews I have been made to retake both because of issues with the recording; everything was correctly calibrated beforehand and he practice video looked fine. Just total garbage all round and I have no idea how other people have an easy time with it, maybe they’ve been paid to leave the review. ### 1/5 — Worst recruitment tool ever encountered *2020-08-21* The concept of video interview in the current COVID environment is a great idea and I’m sure works well when not using launchpad. This was hands down the most the most frustrating interview experience of my entire life. After spending an hour and a half trying to get the link to work on my laptop I ended up resorting to downloading the app and attempting on my iPhone. The instructions given were to film the responses in landscape however the the app is set up for portrait. This would not necessarily been a huge issue if it wasn’t for the fact that with that all the questions were asked rather quickly in various regional accents. The welsh chap especially quick and very difficult to understand. Not the end of the world as when when you tilt your head sideways there is little button you can see press to get the question up in text this text you then have to read sideways (while you are being recorded). This little button that gets the question up is conveniently placed next to the button you press when you have finished answering your question so there goes any chance of answering the question. So fundamentally I would not recommend using launch pad. ### 1/5 — 24hours support a lie, Launchpad has ruined my life. *2020-06-20* Easiest interview of my life is ruined by Launchpad. I applied for HMRC job and went through first two stage very easily. Than HMRC invited me for recorded video interview. What went wrong? First Launchpad asked me to show my passport which I did. Second question asked me to show my passport again, which I did, third time Launchpad asked me to show my passport again which I did. When It should have been passport, driving licence and utility bill, bank statement or council tax bill. After that HMRC asked me 3 very easy questions and I answered them correctly. Launchpad claim to have 24 hours support, it is simply a lie. If it was a difficult interview than I would not mind for not getting the job. It is sad that I may fail an interview for Launchpad not working properly. I am a man with 18 years working of working experience. I earn decent money with my current job but I wanted this HMRC job because I loved that position I have applied for. In terms of earnings I would earn less money with HMRC. If it was a face to face interview, I would pass that interview with flying colours. ### 1/5 — This is seriously annoying. *2019-01-27* The concept sounds great, do a job interview over the web. Sadly this app made me regret ever applying for the job. The app was installed on my iPad and I clicked on the link the potential employer sent me. I was able to record a test video and it all seemed to be going okay. I was also able to review it but when the first question was recorded it wouldn’t upload. I checked the wifi connection and with no issues thought I should try another connection. Still no luck and worried that the interview wouldn’t work if I uninstalled and reinstalled the app I contacted the employer. They said don’t worry just do the remaining questions on something else. So I used my iPhone to do the rest of the questions and I experienced freezing on the test video this time. I gave up with the app version and tried a PC. This did work but it still wasn’t plain sailing as there were issues with the microphone being recognised. I will never apply for a job again where you have to use this app. ### 3/5 — the assessment *2024-05-23, version 5.6* the assessment was quite stressful and it made me stress as i knew that i only had once chance to say what i wanted to say and if i messed it up i couldn’t start again as there was a timer. I’ve also been having a few problems with other assessments like the interview one and i’m finding the fact that it’s online a bit hard as i can’t communicate properly with anyone.
