The UI is clean, and the overall experience is enjoyable. With a few key improvements, it could easily become one of the best video players. The two features I feel are most important are: 1. More playback speed options – Please add finer controls like 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, etc., instead of only the standard speed presets. This would make watching videos much more comfortable. 2. Manual aspect ratio controls – It would be great to have the ability to manually force different aspect ratios (such as Fit, Fill, Stretch, 16:9, 4:3, or Original). This would help when videos don’t display correctly. Overall, it’s an excellent app that just needs these features to make it even better. Keep up the great work! ### 4/5 — Almost perfect *2026-06-12, version 2026.5* I use Outplayer daily as my default for watching videos. It’s one of the few apps I’ve purchased the full version of and it’s easily worth the price. It collects NO USER DATA; try finding another app that doesn’t. Its only major deficiency is its inability to cast videos. With that fixed, a few minor nitpick-y enhancements would make it perfect—eg the ability to change the library folder location, view the library while watching a video in PIP, or rename multiple videos at once. I hope the creator’s still making substantive updates because it’s so close to being the best player available. This player is a kin to IINA on macOS and has a lot of the frameworks from that application. It’s extremely versatile. You can stream video files directly from iCloud or over file sharing such as Samba SMB. You can import files directly into the app which is stored locally . The app is extraordinarily fast, just try scrubbing through a video and watch what happens. The video in the window turns black a second after entering PIP mode and the audio keeps playing. ### 1/5 — Restore purchases glitch? *2025-11-09, version 2025.16* Update: Okay, now I know what is going on with the ‘restore purchases’ bug, you can’t use this app offline with the advanced features. It constantly checks whether you purchased the ‘advanced’ option. Dropping down to one star until this gets fixed since this has been going on for a while. Love the app, but this is annoying. I am not sure when this was introduced, the last couple of updates or iOS 26. When offline it doesn’t retain the purchased history so it forces the user to restore the purchase and login to Apple. Honestly, it might have been there for a while because you are so generous with your free player I only noticed it because I wanted to use the double speed feature and suddenly stopped working. Happens with the phone and tablet. Restored it on the phone. Closed the app and went into airplane mode. Bought the pro version without a second thought to support the dev. Only thing it’s missing is maybe toggles for mono audio or downsampling, incremental speed adjustments instead of fixed and maybe showing chapters in the seekbar which could all be addressed in future updates.
