First, please add more interesting books I can almost never find anything interesting and second, please make it so that the non-pros don’t only get one book at least add a few more. Too many distractions, the constant scrolling, the pop up ads. Its too much for me. To the point that I subscibe to the physical paper for my news. Ive been aware of speed reading for a while, but this app has taken what was once a chore (copy and pasting whole articles from tempermental sites into a reader can be extremely finicky) and reduced it to a few clicks. After a few days of testing on the free plan, I went ahead and purchased a lifetime license. This is a game changer! I can read PDFs, GPT chats, the Bible, etc. I’m currently reading around 320 WPM, but I can feel my ability to focus growing like a muscle. In my exams, especially English, I struggled with reading speed, and I would spend 20-30 minutes of my time just reading and trying to process the passages , which caused me to struggle with time management. Therefore, stumbling onto this app made me excited because I was really keen on improving my reading speed, and the exercises provided seem to be helpful and target my weak areas in reading. However, I simply can’t afford the exercises. It would be a great help if the exercises were still accessible who don’t have great access to money, maybe through watching ads (which I don’t mind). ### 4/5 — Wonderful! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL USER EXPERIENCE since latest update (version 2.4) *2025-04-21, version 2.4* I used to love the free version of this app (so much so that I paid the annual subscription fee and have used it to speed read absolutely everything including purchased e-books that I had converted to PDF). However, since they updated to version 2.4 it’s been awful. It appears it was more important for them to introduce a ‘text to speech’ function than it was to maintain the existing functionality. I have tried using this app on iPhone 16 pro and the latest iPad and whilst I am in a document it is impossible to stop the screen motion regardless of where I tap on the screen. Previous versions were smooth in the transition. If I wanted to change the speed of the app, I would simply tap on the screen to stop and then go into the settings and adjust. That is now impossible without tapping the screen at different positions over and over until it finally stops. Now because they have introduced an ‘AI text to speak’ player, as I say it is now impossible to try and leave that function. Save your money!! I know it’s slow, but I focused more on comprehension than speed. Speed without comprehension is not impressive. I’m on day 25, so in a few more days I’ll update my review with the results. I have seen in improvement outside the app. For instance when I receive a 6 digit OTP(one time password.) I see it once and I have it. No more repeating it in my mind or looking at it more than once. Update: Start 171 wpm 84% comprehension After only doing the daily exercises everyday for the last 30 days. 224wpm 100% comprehension. I love that by using the guided daily training, I am able to practice speed reading on a more systematic, regular schedule, and I would know when is the good time to move on to the next level (before the updates I didn’t really know when to level up). With the new updates, I was motivated more to practice everyday.
