### 5/5 — Awesome game

*2019-09-02, version 1.5*

This is an awesome free to play mobile game. Awesome futuristic retro vibe, sick music and tight controls. Even the story was a nice unexpected touch. It’s clear a lot of thought and work went into this game. Only complaint is that I think the level obstacles could be slightly spaced out more but once you get the hang of how and when to break it’s not such a big deal. 5 stars easily.

### 5/5 — Really fun game, but needs improvements

*2019-08-30, version 1.5*

The gameplay is incredibly fun and addicting, but the landscape mode on iPhone X blocks some buttons and text with the notch which is a little frustrating.

### 5/5 — I saw it on Reddit

*2019-08-24, version 1.3*

It’s a really great game 10/10

### 5/5 — Great game

*2019-08-24, version 1.3*

Fantastic graphics, great soundtrack, and smooth gameplay (be prepared for some very challenging levels)

### 5/5 — Great game

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

I too am here from reddit, and may I say this is a great game. I’ve only been playing for about 5 minutes and I’m already hooked. The controls are easy to use and everything looks/sounds great. Definitely worth my time.

### 5/5 — Very fun and unique!

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

I really enjoy playing this game with the synth sounds and the cool controls that make it interesting to play. So much better than most of the stuff that ketchapp games makes from one guy solo developing it all. Definitely check this game out!

### 5/5 — Very fun

Here from r\outrun. This game is a great love letter to the Outrun style. The graphics and the music set the mode and the gameplay feels smooth and stylish.

### 5/5 — Very fun, love the style.

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

I really enjoy just playing this when I have some time to spare, and the outrun style is awesome. Well done!

### 5/5 — Came from r/outrun and seriously enjoy this game

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

When I first checked it out I expected just another crappy mobile game. But the design and the premise has seriously got me hooked. Can’t wait to play the first fun mobile game in a while. (usually the get boring really fast)

### 5/5 — Holy Canole

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

He didn’t have to go so hard making this game but he did it and he did it for us.

I thought, the icing on the cake would be a choice to get a new ship. And low and behold there it was. Dope ships. This cat is stellar.

### 5/5 — Great idea.

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

### 5/5 — Great Game!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bug

*2022-09-16, version 1.7*

I never got to play the game because you cant get past the first text bubble it won’t let you tap past it.

### 1/5 — Great game, one problem

*2020-10-07, version 1.7*

This game is so difficult it's fun. It's not a pay to win. However, a lot of my scores haven't been saving which is annoying when I finally make a top 10 run after an obscene amount of practice. Please fix this! Overall a great game.

Edit: Score problem unfixed for more than a year now. Despite claims that the game would be updated to fix such problems, nothing has been done. This creates a lack of incentive for players to replay levels after beating the game. I will change this review to 5 stars once this major flaw has been resolved.

### 1/5 — Overrated

### 1/5 — Lame

*2019-11-09, version 1.7*

### 2/5 — not very exciting and long adwalls

*2019-11-30, version 1.7*

not very pretty or interesting. many adwalls that sometime break or take a while

### 3/5 — Good, but not great.

*2021-07-06, version 1.7*

I thought that this would be another lazy mobile game that I would pick up and delete after two minutes. I was wrong. This game has passion and effort put into it...which is exactly what makes the game's shortcomings all the more disappointing.

From the first level, one of the game's major problems shows itself: the performance. I'm playing this game on a fairly new iPad series device, but when too much stuff is on screen, this causes the frame rate to dip and/or inputs to stop being recognized (this is even after turning off dynamic resolution, which causes more issues). This is a problem because the game is very reflex heavy, so inputs not registering can cause deaths and frustration in the harder levels. I'm not too motivated to complete a game where failure isn't entirely my fault.

Even with the smoothest frame rate and perfect input registration, the game is very demanding skill-wise, requiring near instantaneous input after input in some sections. This is not necessarily a bad thing for regular people, but I could see this being a problem for people with decreased motor skills or reflexes. There are people that might physically be unable to beat the game. An option in the settings to decrease the game speed or even a difficulty select screen, would go a long way in making the game more accessible for those who need it. Perhaps even an adaptive difficulty system would work, where more deaths in a level would decrease the difficulty upon subsequent attempts. This could also help curb the fact that the game gets difficult perhaps a bit too quickly. It doesn't take too many levels for the player's reflexes to get tested. Lower difficulties could prevent having to redesign the levels if implemented well.

I feel like the player should get more invincibility frames after getting hit. As is, this can lead to you dying instantly to 4 walls grouped close to each other. Perhaps this could also be another difficulty setting to add.

On the topic of accessibility, I take issue with the shoot and boost blocks. There's no visual distinction between the two besides color, which is definitely going to be a problem for people with colorblindness. There needs to be something else that differentiates the two, like spikes on the edges of the blocks that you have to shoot for instance.

On the more minor side of complaints, the textures can be a bit blurry from close up. I should again note that I'm on an iPad series device, and I've turned off dynamic resolution. I haven't completed the game for the reasons stated above, but it would be cool if we got to see the player character's face. I'm not saying the player should have dialogue, but I think seeing the character in the flesh would make players connect to him/her more.

I can tell that the people who made this put their heart and soul into this project; this isn't a cheap cash grab. This has the potential to be a really great game, but as is, with the input issues and lack of accessibility options, the game is just good, perhaps even a bit mediocre.

### 3/5 — Fun game but the controls need serious work

*2020-01-03, version 1.7*

It’s nice to have the choice of two type of inputs, however:
- Button mode is unplayable as it doesn’t support simultaneously pressing two inputs.
- Swipe is ok but if the game lags the input is just ignored which make some levels really unpleasant, and very frustrating.
Making a game hard coz the controls are terrible is not the best design choice imho.

### 4/5 — So good!

*2019-08-23, version 1.3*

I saw the game on r/outrun yesterday and have been hooked on the game ever since! The story is well done and I love the level design. Would recommend to anyone.

### 5/5 — Drift into Cyberspace

*2019-12-17, version 1.7*

Sometime during the last century some cool guy thought to himself, if I combine your average retro video game with cyber racing I can create something totally new. I’ll ride these waves, no matter the time of day. When I’m out cold on the couch or an airport is giving me flight fright, worry not, this never gets boring... awesome words.

### 5/5 — Solid

*2019-11-30, version 1.7*

Nice aesthetic and solid gameplay. I like that the creators credit the Unity engine.

I played for 10 min, got one ad and also longed for a perspective shift and projectile. But that may come after 10 min, not sure?

Ads ain't so bad either, not annoyed yet 👍🏼

### 5/5 — Awesome just one thing

*2019-11-08, version 1.7*

I’ve played for a day now, and it’s one of my favorite games. I have one issue though. Some levels are pretty hard, and it takes a while to get past just some of its obstacles. I was wondering if you guys can put a practice mode in for each level. In practice mode, maybe have checkpoints so you can spawn in that specific place instead of all over again so you can focus on that one thing you can’t get past on. Once you complete the practice mode level, it’s better to beat the levels. Of course, practice mode won’t count for completion, but it can get you ready for the real level. thank you.

### 5/5 — What a game this could be!

*2019-11-04, version 1.7*

This could be a fantastic game, just what I’ve been looking for BUT it just gets out of control. After a while, you end up in sheer desperation as you crash n burn all the time as no matter what you do, you can’t brake fast enough before hitting another brick wall and dying!!!
Such a shame as I could have really put this into my top 10 of all time favourite games.
I understand there is a level editor on the way,,,,🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hope it does as it suggests ?????

### 5/5 — Came from reddit

### 5/5 — Here from Reddit

*2019-09-03, version 1.5*

Downloaded the game a few weeks ago because I saw this on r/outrun and this game rocks! Been playing a lot. Boss battles are perfect amount of frustrating and beatable. Overall fun time passing game for class/airports/work?/toilet/ anything with a lot of sitting and waiting.
