The app crashes often running on appleTV and the navigation is horrible. Why can’t i rewind during a live broadcast for example. It’s bad enough the live races skip athletes all the time for ads - on a service I pay for. On the replay, please could you show all the athletes and insert the ads between runs? The coverage of US ski racing by both Outside + and Peacock is abysmal. Please take a page from Ski and Snowboard live - they do a great job. ### 1/5 — Just plain awful *2024-12-06* I tuned into Peacock to watch the FIS World Cup downhill at Beaver Creek on Dec 6, 2024 to find out that this race was being streamed on OutsideTV which I had never heard about. So I downloaded the app and the race was already in progress. Most apps allow you to restart or scroll back. Not this one. As a sports junky I watch many streaming apps, some great, others good. But OutlookTV has to be the worst. The commentators are 3rd grade at best, every 2nd word of the female commentator was “Pizzerina”, the name of a section of the race, their sound was way too loud, and one of them sounded like he called in from under water. The sound of the skiers racing down could not be heard, nor the one from the spectators at the bottom of the race. All the interruptions with the OutlookTV logo are annoying for no reason while skipping one or 2 racers. I have no idea why FIS would let OutsideTV stream the Beaver Creek World Cup races. It is a huge disservice to the real ski racing fans. Peacock & NBC Sports are so much superior and that is where the races should be streamed. I looked at a few other OutsideTV streams and none of them impressed. One star for this App is one star too many. I stopped watching the downhill race after 15 racers; it was that painful and totally awful !!! ### 1/5 — Truly abysmal *2024-12-01, version 39.2* They have some good content but this app is awful — often promised content like the FIS World Cup events just don’t work, doesn’t keep track of what you’ve watched, bugs and usability problems abound. I.e T100 Dubai. Shows when you open app but you click on it and it takes to list of older races. None of which are T100 Dubai. Plus they are sorted in oldest first…really? Some good content if you can get it to play properly. ### 1/5 — Outside+ app continually crashes on Roku Smart TV *2024-11-10* Outside+ app continually crashes on Roku Smart TV this has been occurring for two years since I started my subscription. The app works fine on my iPhone but won’t play any movies or content on my TV. I have contacted Outside Magazine about this going back two years and they still haven’t done anything to fix this issue. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it multiple times. I have checked for any software updates. I have gone through all their useless troubleshooting tips. The App does not function as it should. I didn’t sign up for this subscription to watch content on my phone. I just want to watch content at home on my smart tv, why is that so hard to accomplish?! ### 2/5 — Lacking basic features *2024-11-09* I wanted to love this app because I enjoy a lot of the content, but it just seems like a dumping ground for videos. There is no search function anymore. There was, and then it disappeared. There is no "continue watching" so you have to go looking for what you last watched (which is especially fun with no search function). There are also no subtitles available, so if you are hard of hearing, you're out of luck. It's really too bad, if they just put a tiny bit of effort into basic functionality, it would be a fun app. ### 1/5 — Unable to cancel subscription *2024-10-24, version 39.0* This app is hotel California. Unable to cancel subscription. When you login to the app you can select subscription help. Once there you select cancel subscription and it opens an email where you can request to cancel the subscription. Problem is there is no address to send the email. ### 1/5 — Not worth paying for *2024-10-19* I really don’t know what I am paying for. I got a deal on Trailforks at Warren Miller last year, and Outside + was part of it. I was a user of Trailforks before you started charging for it and I thought it was the better app versus MTB Project. Now, there isn’t the community adding trails and conditions to the app that there was prior to paying for it. I have tried to watch a few things on the Outside tv and I think they are fine, but uninspiring. I think I would watch them sometimes if they were free, but I will not continue to pay to watch them. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed *2024-09-22, version 38.0* Terrible app. You can’t even let it playing on the background like any other streaming app. The Live stream is a joke. I usually have to quit and relaunch to get videos to buffer correctly. Session isn’t stored so when returning to continue watching I have to start from beginning and find my spot. Your app is frustrating ### 1/5 — Glitchy, terrible trying to cast to chromebox *2025-12-01* I’ve been trying to watch the Copper Cup replays by casting from my iPhone to my chromebox and there is no way to control the replay playing options (pause, fast forward, rewind). It also is constantly kicking me off the cast and I have to restart the video from the beginning, again with no options for fast forwarding back to where I was at. I have the fastest internet connection available and I just get the spinning wheel while the app is trying to load. Do not waste your time with this app and definitely do NOT pay the $89 for Outside +! Extremely disappointing. Yeah, I'm a grandfather and even a great grandfather; really got into skiing around 15 years ago at age 67. Wanted to watch Mikaela Shiffrin score #100 at Killington, but broadcast TV wouldn't have run number one, only run number two in the afternoon. So did something unusual for me, tried a streaming service: Outside TV. What a pleasant surprise. It wasn't hiding behind a paywall and it worked very well.
