### 3/5 — Mixed experience

*2023-10-03, version 4.0.2*

I love that this app is consistent with the rules of the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book. No other app that I know if is like that. However, I’m pretty sure or how to interpret my own data, and with the little flukes that happen in a cycle, I think it’s important to not rely on an app to do that for you.

The app itself is just a little bit clumsy. It often takes a long time to load the info I put in (despite great internet connection). And when I click on the chart, it’s weirdly zoomed in on one section. Some things I feel it’s missing I liked from other apps…
-Other related symptoms (not just pregnancy symptoms) like mood, cravings, cramps, breast pain. This is especially helpful when starting out to see patterns.
-Option to say whether or not sex was unprotected!! Honestly, this is my biggest issue with the app that it doesn’t have this.

With a little more work, this app could be super great!!

### 4/5 — Great app! Could use a dark mode

*2023-01-02*

I find this app simple, straight forward, and easy to use for tracking etc. Really my only complaint is that I have yet to find a dark mode. It’s kind of jarring to roll over from a groggy taking of temperature in the dark wee hours of the morning and then be blasted with a BRIGHT white (albeit very readable and easy to navigate) screen. I love the app for its simplicity and lack of extraneous articles, ads, and frills pushed in your face like other tracking apps. Again, my ONE request to the developer is to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE develop a dark mode option for the morning data collection. Thank you so much for this app!!

### 2/5 — App Needs a Little Work

*2022-10-16*

I loved the book, so I got the app to go along with it. The app needs some work, as far as “user friendliness”. I worked for an app developer for 15 years and mobile apps like this should be simple & straightforward, especially for newer users. It’s almost impossible to find how to log your info each day. And every day I open the app, I have to look for it all over again. One simple word, like “LOG” or “DAILY LOG” would suffice. Instead, there is nothing like this. And if I miss a day, I have no idea where to go to enter the info for the day prior. I still haven’t found it, so I’m not even sure if there IS a way to enter info for prior days. And when I look at my full chart, all the info I entered it gone anyway It’s been much easier for me to just write the info down (especially before I forget lol).

### 4/5 — Mostly a great app !

*2022-07-30, version 4.0.2*

I love this app! It does what it needs to do, I love being able to chart on my phone and have it with me whenever I need it and not have to remember to add data later. It is a little slow sometimes or freezes after I add data. I wish there was an option to track other birth control methods and a feature where I can add someone to view my chart (like my boyfriend so he can see where in my cycle I am). Overall I am happy with the app but it would be perfect with some fixes!

### 3/5 — Slow but better than paper charting

*2021-06-14*

I appreciate this app because it does what it needs to and it’s free. But my main complaint is that it is SLOW. After inputting data, I usually sit on the update screen for 15 seconds and often it just freezes completely on the update screen and I’m never sure if it actually saves my data when that happens because I have to quit the app.
They’ll respond to reviews like this saying it’s because of internet connection, but I have no other app that I use with my home internet connection that loads so slowly. It’s even worse if I want to do multiple days of data (ex. menstruation data) in one sitting. It usually just freezes at that point.

Good app for what it is, but I’d greatly appreciate an update to how quickly the data loads!

**Developer response:** So glad to hear that you are enjoying the app! If you have any questions feel free to reach out to support at info@ovagraph.com

### 3/5 — Server is down please fix!!

*2021-04-09, version 3.3.5*

I rely on this app to chart my cycles and it’s important I’m able to document + access my chart info! The OvaGraph server appears to be down (for the last 2+ hours). Please fix ASAP!!

### 4/5 — Excellent Customer Service

*2020-09-11, version 3.2.5*

I had an issue with my TempCue BBT sensor and reached out to OvaGraph support for assistance. The rep who responded was exceptionally helpful and responsive! My sensor ended up needing to be completely replaced, and she made the entire process virtually pain-free! Keep up the great work!

### 3/5 — Not allowing me to log in

*2020-05-24, version 3.2.5*

I’ve been using OvaGraph for several months and always make sure WiFi and internet are connected before I open the app. A few days now it hasn’t been logging me in. I can record temps but not view any data. I’m not sure why it isn’t working but I rely on this app to help me see when I’m ovulating and patterns. It’s not easy to transfer the data to paper, so please fix your app ASAP. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Stuck in offline mode

*2020-05-24, version 3.2.5*

Initially I loved this app! I just started learning about FAM and was excited to be able to use a digital version of the chart. Unfortunately as of this week the app won’t allow be to view my chart. It doesn’t matter if I’m connected to WiFi or have 4 service bars, it says I’m in offline mode and I can only add to my chart. This is incredibly frustrating. Please fix this ASAP

### 4/5 — Love this app but

*2020-05-23, version 3.2.5*

I love this app, but it keeps saying it can’t log me in and can’t contact the server. My internet connect is great.

### 2/5 — Good App but extremely slow

*2020-02-24, version 3.2.4*

its a great resource for keeping track of your cycle but its constantly malfunctioning, even when i have good internet connection its soooo slow to upload new data it gets very frustrating, im looking to move to a new app because its just becoming unbearable

### 4/5 — Designed for TTC - not Avoiding Pregnancy

*2019-12-11*

I like a lot of things about this app - it allows me to put in lots of info. It’s sometimes slow, but hasn’t been as much of a problem since I switched to an iPhone. I really REALLY wish it wasn’t JUST designed for people trying to get pregnant. I’ve been using FAM w barriers for 3 years avoiding pregnancy and now TTC. It frustrated me that the app had a place for birth control under medication, but the whole point of FAM is not using hormonal medication for birth control. The app would be much better if they 1)have options for birth control barriers used on potentially furtive days (condom, diaphragm, etc.) and 2) wasn’t so pushy about asking me if I wanted to take a pregnancy test 7 days after ovulation or telling me I should take Supplements since I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We are happy to hear you like the app! Since the app is not FDA approved as a contraceptive we are unable to create features for TTA. Some women under going IVF will use HBC at the request of their fertility doctor, which is why that is listed under medication. If you would like to add custom chart fields that include specific barrier methods you use, you can do that by going to Settings> Custom Chart Fields> then tap the + in the upper right hand corner and add what you would like there. Thank you again for the review!

### 4/5 — Thank you!

*2019-12-01, version 3.1.7*

Thank you for fixing the scrolling function in the Notes field. I really appreciate it. 😊

### 4/5 — Please make more user-friendly and closer to Toni Weschler’s fertility charts

*2019-11-30, version 3.1.7*

I like being able to lie in bed after taking my temperature and enter the data on my phone each morning. And I like that the app graphs my data and creates a chart for me. However, I’m very disappointed in the quality of the app. It seems a little clunky. When I want to enter my temperature, I have to tap on “View Today’s Data”, wait for it to load, then tap on the little word “Edit” in the corner of the page. Once adding my temperature and time, I have to wait for it to load. Sometimes it takes a full minute or two...or three. For such a tiny bit of data, that is way too long.

I would like to see the current chart immediately when I open the app. I would like to be able to add my information simply by tapping that spot on the app. For example, tapping on the temperature section to enter my new temperature. I would like to see the data appear on the chart instantly, rather than going to a loading page where I watch the bar slowly fill up.

I would like to see the chart include all the same information that Toni’s charts do. Please include a place to add menstrual cramps. Please change the vaginal sensations to “Dry, Sticky, COLD, Wet”. (“Slippery” is an extension of “Wet”.) Please include a way to enter the length of vaginal fluid stretch in inches. I don’t like having to enter all these things in under “Notes”, then not see the note in my chart until I tap on it. And please include a place to enter the color of vaginal fluid (clear, opaque). And lastly, please make it so that I can add color of menstrual flow (bright red, brown, pink, etc.)

Please make notes such that what I enter is immediately and always visible on the chart, rather than having to tap on the “Note” icon in order to see it.

Please make the chart capable of being more individual. I have to wade through a lot of supplements, medicines, and tests that I don’t use.

Please teach the app Toni’s “Rule of Thumb”: when there is an outlying temperature, throw it out! The app is drawing my cover line in the wrong place because of one outlying temperature. It it ignored that one, it would draw a beautiful, perfect cover line right where it should be!

Please enable the app to print my charts so that I can put physical copies of my charts in my fertility chart binder! I like the ease of charting on the app, but I still want to be able to flip through physical past charts.

I use this app despite the fact that it seems to be in its infancy. I would like to see improvements made so that it blossoms into a mature, user-friendly, sleek app that follows Toni Weschler’s charts more accurately. It has potential! Take my suggestions to heart and make it awesome!

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2019-11-20*

After my sister faced a long haul of infertility and I discovered I have PCOS, I wanted to get a better handle on my system. I got the book TCOYF (great!!) and this app. It’s a little slow and glitchy, but has the most detailed questions of tracking apps I’ve tried. I think it is best for women trying to get pregnant (I am not) but helpful for just getting an idea of when I’m ovulating, when I’m not, and when I’m having cysts.

I also have multiple other chronic illnesses, so I wish there were more symptom-related questions so that I could track all of it at once — I believe my other illnesses are linked to my hormones, but would love to see evidence. I recognize that’s not what most people are looking for, but I would love that!

**Developer response:** It is so wonderful to hear the app is helping you track your cycles. We do have a Custom Chart Fields you can access from the Settings screen. There you can add any symptom you want to track! If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out to info@ovagraph.com. We are happy to help you out with this!

### 4/5 — Good app

*2019-11-14, version 3.1.7*

Does what it’s intended to do.

### 4/5 — Would recommend

*2019-11-11, version 3.1.7*

You guys are great! So far, this has been the best app for keeping track of my period. I am really enjoying the chart visual.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Deleted data

*2024-12-18, version 4.0.2*

I’d been using the app for over a month. I went in to record today’s info and it had deleted all of my information and said I needed to create a profile to use the app. But when I try to create one, it gives me an error message and says it can’t create a profile. Now it looks like I lost all of my data and can’t even use the app anymore.

### 1/5 — Do not use this app- they refuse to delete data

*2024-11-09, version 4.0.2*

This app was “okay” for a while I guess. Not very intuitive.

The main issue- I requested to have my data wiped and the account deleted DAYS ago. I got redirected to a different email, which has now ignored 3 attempts to have my data wiped.

Do not put your protected health information into this app- they refuse to honor your autonomy and privacy, and will hang on to your data for dear life.

### 1/5 — Dead app

*2023-02-28, version 4.0.2*

With out warning, the app stopped working because the website domain expired, I can’t even get any of my previous data. Don’t download this app. It was running through the website and now that the website doesn’t exist anymore neither does the app.

### 1/5 — Login not working

*2022-10-01, version 4.0.2*

The login screen continually gives me an error message. I restarted the app and my phone but it still doesn’t work. My login works online. I paid a lot of money for the Ovacue but it’s a huge waste and disappointment now if this app doesn’t work anymore. Please help!!

### 1/5 — Ever heard of HIPA? They haven't...

*2020-09-05, version 3.2.5*

UPDATE: after having my personal data discussed by an administrator in a public forum without my request or permission, I deleted the app and my account. Never have I experienced such an egregious violation of my trust and privacy.

10 stars for customer service:

Every time I have an issue I get personal responses from support staff. This is unheard of levels of service today, and from a free app it's mind blowing

-5 stars for privacy

Watch out: they're literally posting your private reproductive data on public forums. You can opt out -- kind of -- but seriously? The default is you're gonna publish the most intimate data about my body on a public forum??

2 stars for usability

While CS has been great, the app is clumsy to navigate and doesn't have good help files or even clear legends for the charts it creates. I run in to a LOT of problems that eventually get solved, but feel unnecessarily complicated

### 1/5 — Won’t log me in

*2020-08-23, version 3.2.5*

Love the idea of this app, poorly executed. Won’t log me in, despite a great internet connection.

### 1/5 — Good idea Bad app

*2020-05-24, version 3.2.5*

The website tells you that it’s unsafe to continue?? And the app won’t log you in online. This is miserable, I’m better off charting on paper instead of trusting an app that continually shuts down. No, it’s not my internet connection, it’s clearly an issue with an app that in my opinion should be the MOST accurate as it is assisting women in tracking their cycles/ovulation. not worth the hassle. They need a better app designer.

### 1/5 — So confusing

*2019-10-08, version 3.1.7*

This app is so incredibly hard to use. It’s so slow I can’t tell if something is a button that just won’t work or if it’s not a button at all. How can you edit data if you forgot to enter something the day before? Everything you click highlights as if it’s doing something and then it’s not. It’s extremely frustrating to learn everything from the book and not have a way to enter it.

### 1/5 — Way Too Slow and No Security Website

*2019-04-24*

I’ve been using this app for a few months per my acupuncturist and if this wasn’t her preference, I would dump this app yesterday! It’s annoying. It’s slow. It’s most used/common functions are all in separate places taking multiple clicks to access (i.e. the charts which show a summary of your BBTs—and is what you want to see most of the time—takes 3-4 clicks to get to from the landing page and takes long to load or won’t load at all many times). The main page has to “log in your credentials” first in order for you be able to access your chart summaries and that can take 10-30 seconds; I know that it’s a matter of seconds, but if this app didn’t have to connect all the time, meaning the most used functions are just stored locally, it would be a matter of a few seconds. NOW, the app unraveled my stores login, and when I try to login, it takes me to their webpage that is UNSAFE! They let their security certificate expire meaning their information—their USERS information—is now unsecured! This app hold highly sensitive HIPPA-like info! Are you kidding me?! How do you let that expire?! I am talking to my acupuncturists today to have her look into another preferred app for her patients. This is unacceptable!

**Developer response:** I'm so sorry for any inconvenience the may have caused. You can read about this outage here: https://www.ovagraph.com/discussion/app-website-failure

### 1/5 — Not user-friendly and can't delete account

*2017-10-05, version 3.0.17*

I downloaded a few different tracker apps to compare and decided pretty quickly that this one was my least favorite. It's not user-friendly and the design is not appealing to me. I then tried multiple times to delete my account (on both my phone and my desktop), but every time I receive an error message. Now I'm receiving promotional emails and when I click the unsubscribe link, I'm just taken to the website with no unsubscribe options. I'm glad this app is helpful to some, but for me it's just a spam-filled trap with no way out.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2023-01-26, version 4.0.2*

I have been using this for a year now and I love it so much. I have a question though - is there a way to edit the start date of a new cycle? If I have spotting that I mistook for a day 1 of a new cycle, can I delete my new cycle and start a new one on the real day?

### 5/5 — Helped me get pregnant

*2019-12-27, version 3.2.4*

This app was so simple and made tracking my cycle fun!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

This app is easy to use and tracks so many things pertaining to fertility. I’ve just started using it, but so far I am very pleased.

### 5/5 — Satisfied

*2019-11-29, version 3.1.7*

OvaGraph is really straightforward. I got this app after reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has the essentials, and I appreciate the simple color scheme. I find it easy to read my chart, and i like that the app selects the day it believes you ovulated, based on temp and cervix signs.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2019-11-08, version 3.1.7*

This app makes tracking your cycle so easy using the method from TCOYF. I love it and love feeling in tune with my body.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-11-06, version 3.1.7*

Does the job

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2019-11-05, version 3.1.7*

I love this fertility app! It makes is so easy to track your cycle, learn when you ovulate and learn more about your body. Taking your temperature every day at the same time is not ideal but it’s definitely worth it to learn more about yourself.

### 5/5 — Take control of you fertility

*2019-10-30, version 3.1.7*

This app has all the functionality to track and monitor your cycle. Once you have charted your indicators for some months you can have an idea when is a good time to get pregnant, not get pregnant, stay in bed and rest or get up and tackle your to do list! It’s comprehensive and allows you to enter in basal thermometer readings.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2019-10-26, version 3.1.7*

Love having a chart that makes tracking my fertility seemless and easy. I use this app for birth control and have loved it. The book is amazing and so thorough as well. This is not just an app for conception but also for help in birth control.

### 5/5 — Great way to get pregnant

*2019-10-24, version 3.1.7*

There are lots of apps to track your fertility but after reading taking charge of your fertility, I found this app and love it. It took us 3 months to get pregnant after starting to chart, taking temperature and paying attention to fluids.
