Unfortunately, every 5 minutes or so there is a commercial or break when viewing shows in app. When watching programs on Ovation channel you have quite a few annoying commercial breaks as well but the app has way more. It’s frustrating and frankly just very annoying. I understand revenue from commercials but please consider having less interruptions during a show. ### 2/5 — Closed Captioning Malfunction *2024-03-12* I thought it would be great to be able to watch Ovation live on the app. However, just like on your website, the closed captions only work every once in a great while…and not for long (plus, there does not appear to be any other way to communicate this to you). Why can’t you folks fix your tech? ### 2/5 — App Freezes *2023-10-30* This has a good selection of shows. Unfortunately it freezes every time I try to use it on iPhone and iPad. The program doesn’t freeze, but the ads do! ### 2/5 — Frustrating app! *2023-04-08* Love so many of the shows on Ovation but this app is sub-par. While watching just one episode of the show, I have had to endure over 20 of the same commercial (often 4 times in a row). And it’s not uncommon for the app to freeze. ### 3/5 — Ovation *2022-05-21, version 2.0.2* Ovation has far too many ads and too many commercial breaks some of them play over and over durning the program. It ruins everything. ### 3/5 — Froze *2022-02-17, version 1.9.1* I updated my app tonight to the latest version. I watched one episode of King with no problem. On the second one, after about 30 minutes of actual program (and way too many repeated ads), the picture froze, though the audio continued. At the next commercial break there were four ads, it briefly flashed to the program, back to four more ads, briefly flashed to the program, then back to ads. At that point I gave up. ### 2/5 — App Needs Improvement *2022-01-16, version 1.8.8* I don’t mind commercials when watching on the app BUT I do mind 10+ min of the same 4 commercials looping over and over. It’s taken me 1.5 hours to watch 44 min of content. It hasn’t always been this way so not sure what has changed recently. ### 3/5 — App needs to improve -too many commercials *2021-12-08, version 1.8.7* I love the ovation network and watch lots of the shows on tv. However, the app has way too many commercials and it is the same ones over and over. Sometimes the Frankie Drake commercials just keep playing in a loop, after it plays 5 times I give up and go to a different network. ### 2/5 — Not mature - yet *2021-06-30, version 1.8.3* Seemed to be what I wanted… then I started looking for the Chromecast icon… not to be found. Really?? Why? This would be great - good content, easy to use - IF I COULD CHROMECAST IT to my TV to watch it! The same commercial plays over and over and you cannot get back into the show. ### 2/5 — Suddenly doesn’t open *2021-04-01, version 1.8.3* I have been using and enjoying the app for awhile. Tonight it wanted me to reactivate or whatever that is called. However it won’t recognize my cable provider. I am using an Apple TV unit. ### 2/5 — Where is it? *2020-07-15, version 1.7.4* A Place to call Home is new. We missed episodes 3-4, so I thought maybe I could catch them here before episode 5 airs, but the only ones available are 11-13! What’s up with that?? Why would you have only episodes here that are way ahead of what you’ve aired?? This was the main reason I downloaded the app. I’ve not even used it yet. **Developer response:** We update the episodes on our app frequently! We also just added MYSTERY ALLEY on our app, which includes plenty of other thrilling mysteries you can watch for free, no login required! ### 3/5 — Oops *2020-05-30, version 1.7.4* Get the “oops try again later regularly. I am so turned off of Barbados do to the fact this app seem to have the only one commercial and not only is it played once but it’s played four TimesEvery 15 minutes this renders this app as useless for what they’re offering. I think I will go to BritBox just because I can watch these shows without Barbados commercials. ### 1/5 — Ovation now *2023-02-02, version 2.0.5* I Love the Ovation channel & want to watch it where ever I go. Got a new tablet and was excited to download it again; but the new version is not going to work for my schedule. I need the on demand feature to watch when I can; but my tv provider is not an option. Hellllllp! ### 1/5 — Cannot Access *2021-11-14, version 1.8.7* I am supposed to have Ovation access with my Spectrum service. Both Ovation and Spectrum agree. For over a year, I have tried numerous times to access programming via the app on all my iPads, including one less than a year old. I have never once been successful. Neither provider has done anything other than say it should work. ### 1/5 — Same commercial over and over again. *2021-10-31, version 1.8.7* To repeat the same commercial six times in a row is a bit much and overkill. I would pay to have this commercial free. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on my iPad *2020-11-03, version 1.8.0* I’ve requested to watch an episode of midsummer murders It goes along oddly but soon a frontier ad shows up and continues to repeat itself. After 4 times I try to reload with the same ad being continually recycled. I’d prefer to pay A nominal monthly fee, like acorn TV does, and go without the ads and with everything operating properly. I was really excited about finding the Ovation app and getting it started. This is too much for me.
