(…and isn’t that enough?) *2023-04-12* It’s not a synth! There are no oscillators originating sounds so you can’t change the fundamental tone or timbre. BUT… it sounds awesome! They have put together samples of some outstanding sounds and just being able to tweak around the edges is enough to have a lot of fun.. There’s also a great scaled keyboard which allows you to set it up so you can focus on creating good music. I’m 48 and began playing guitar at about age 8. id always had a backup plan one day, to be able to keep writing- if at some point my fingers no longer worked well.. your inclusion of a customizable fretboard is a dream I’ve had since long before the internet. today I picked a patch I liked, cued up the fretboard and shed a literal tear of joy. It was the first time I could play a synth, immediately, with excellent sounds from my youth, and knew…exactly where all the notes were. the chords I’d spent years learning. my personal vocabulary. my secret language. Missed opportunity, this app doesn’t make a great deal of sense to me after actually listening to the sounds - as in it needs to put through an overdrive effect to sound like a synth through an overdrive pedal…. ### 1/5 — A rompler without possibility of intervention *2022-10-12* A rompler with ONLY attack and release; not decay and sustain but a delay, a reverb and 1 filter. NOTHING MORE. Then an In app purchase of 5,99 euros for 100 sounds and stop. This is not a basic synth but it is something good for a child. 1/2 star. FX so lala. ### 3/5 — Figured why I don’t like it 1 - AUv3 not like Standalone. *2022-10-29, version 1.0* So the standalone version has quick-action rotary controls on-screen. The Audio Unit, on my iPad 12.9” has s-l-i-d-e-r-s that take me from one side of the ipad to the other, to get the same amount of effect. It’s a bit naff. If the Audio Unit is made to look like the standalone, it’d be easier to compare. And tbh the sounds seem less interesting than I expected? If the range went from ordinary to absolutely ‘other-wordly’ and we end up in the middle to make it usable, that would probably work better. I thought it would be like when I put my tiny Casiotone through a guitar flanger pedal - but this is less interesting. O.o *2024-09-20* Les sons sont chouette ce synth est bien mais par contre je suis assez étonné je m'attendait à des sons qui crash et... je ne parviens pas à entendre l'overdrive, et pas de réglage possible de celle ci ? ### 4/5 — Très correct *2023-05-03* C’est pas le synthé du siècle mais ça sonne bien, c’est stable, et la quantité (comme la qualité) des presets est vraiment honnête. Pour le prix, et pour qui ne veut pas investir trop de temps dans le "sound design", débloquer la version complète n’est pas un mauvais choix. Au final même si ça manque d’option, on sent que le développeur a réalisé son application avec soin 👍 ### 4/5 — Missing functions *2022-12-30* 1st day impression : Simple and some sounds are ok. After having using it more, I change my review because it is missing some functionality to be better : * it would be great to be able to save our own presets * some keys stays constantly pink color’ I don’t understand why (maybe a graphic choice?) but the other ones are pink only when pressed so it is confused. * Globally the synth is too simple, you can not do a lot with it. Great point is that is AUv3 It’s a good start but it should evoluate in order to keep any interest. Anyway, THIS IS IT! What a totally epic journey! This guy GETS IT! *2025-01-28, version 1.4* The sounds produced by this synth have been lovingly crafted to give you a HUGE “pallet” from which you can create all kinds of new songs and sounds. It’s really worth adding in ALL of the sounds - but even if you don’t, you’ll still have some very high-fidelity recreations of instantly recognizable synth sounds. But for such a modest cost, you can add many more additional sounds and support the developer to keep doing what he’s done here! As an added bonus feature (for those of us coming from the world of bass, guitar, violin, etc.) in addition to a traditional piano KB, one of the optional user keyboards is laid out in a configurable grid similar to those string instruments! They definitely reminiscent of sounds I had on past keyboards. The sounds seem perfect for Lo-fi or Retro style music. I can definitely see how they might be good for a Synth-wave project.
