I agree with the other reviewers who just want more data. Very similar lay out to WeatherNerd (during app due to Darksky api shuttering). WeatherNerd gave next hour precipitation, upcoming week overview, and had a calendar for extended forecasts. That was the first app ( and only app) I subscribed to. ### 5/5 — Simple & beautiful *2023-01-09, version 1.2* A tasty bite-sized little app that does one thing and does it well: show you the weather. And I mean show as in not just showing numbers, but actually showing you graphs and subtle background animations that make you instantly understand conditions without even having to read. Apple’s Weather app had improved for a minute, but information is all spread out and Apple is making it worse with “news”; Dark Sky was good but never great IMO. Overlook is phenomenal. I’d love to see it grow, if the dev wants to grow it (incorporate feels like/wind chill? Apple Watch support?), but for now it is already great. Fantastic work! I live by my weather app for work, and being able to look ahead quickly is crucial. Overlook is a new paradigm in design- instead of numbers or emoji, artistic visuals communicate the information. Yet subtle details provide the necessary specifics. Honestly, one of the best designs EVER. Never seen an app do that before. I’ve seen limited features but not limited basic functionality. Save yourself the bother of removing this app… Don’t install it to begin with. **Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the app. Unfortunately weather data is expensive and I'm a single person working on this entirely free app. I'm not showing ads or selling your data, so it's a pure financial loss on my side. While I do limit the number of requests per user (as that is what I have to pay for myself) I don't currently limit features. You might have noticed that unlike a lot of other weather apps, this one has widgets included in the free version. I also just released a new version that changes the limit to three destinations per day. Depending on your use case that might solve the issue altogether :) Anyway, have a nice day! ### 3/5 — No obvious way to change from Celsius *2024-03-27* All the screens show Fahrenheit in the App Store, but the app shows Celsius on my phone. The gear icon doesn’t give me options to change unless it’s within one of the links. I know it’s free, but unless I can view the temperature in degrees I’m used to, it’s useless. ### 3/5 — Fancy app with mere basic info and use. *2023-02-23, version 1.2* Design is excellent. Showing feels like temp on widget and main app with actual temp would have been lot better. Notification for big weather change like if it’s going to be raining in next 10 min. Or if it’s going to stop raining in 20 min or if it’s going to be snow in X min or there is tornado warning today (time) makes day lot easy to plan things. For that reason I love apple weather but their aesthetic is not that great. If this app can add those features then one should use it else there is no much info or use of this app except it shows fancy temperatures without any real use. Sorry about harsh words but that’s the real review and feedback I felt about this app. ### 3/5 — A nice start *2022-10-12, version 1.2* A beautiful app with some nice minimal concepts. May use it again if a possible paid option is introduced to remove the frustrating lack of location adding restrictions per day. ### 4/5 — Issues with widget *2024-03-07* Pretty awesome and vibrant app. I really enjoy the aesthetic of it. My only issue is with the widgets, no matter if I uninstall / reinstall app or reset my device the widgets will not work, or populate any images which is unfortunate because the widget is the primary reason why I download this app. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next update or I’ll have to find another app widget. :( ### 4/5 — No longer works *2023-01-29, version 1.2* Dead in the water after 16.3 update. Can’t load any locations or forecasts. Edit: Had to uninstall and reinstall to get the app working again after upgrading to 16.3 **Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with the app. In my testing iOS 16.3 does not cause any issues, so it seems to be something specific to your device. Please make sure that you have a working internet connection and perhaps try restarting your device. If the issue persists please reach out to support@andelefski.com and perhaps we can find a solution together :) ### 4/5 — Need more data *2022-10-07, version 1.1* This app looks great! I just wish that the widgets would show more information. For example, the square home screen widget that shows 3 day forecast does not show the current temperature. I love this widget, but I need it to show the current temperature. Additionally, the other square home screen widget, which just shows the current temperature also needs to show the high and low temperatures for the day. Other than these things, it’s great! and yes, I would definitely pay for this app. If it would update the weather hourly at a bare minimum. One more thing… I wish that the main app would also have a sunset and sunrise indicator, even if it is very minor. ### 5/5 — Clever swipe weather app *2024-04-01* Good for a quick snapshot of the current weather. The widget just wasn’t popping up and I had to restart my phone a few times to get the option to add the widget. But now that it’s here, the widget is beautiful and works fantastically. ### 5/5 — Why no update? *2024-03-08* No update on over a year which is a huge disappointment this is by far my favorite weather app and it deserves attention! I love the layout. Simple. Clean. Aesthetic. As the information for the week available at a glance. Intuitive to scroll Through the day and see the weather in such a crisp, clean visual. Beautiful. Easy to use. The important day to day data without a bunch of extraneous junk. I do think there is some room for improvement like showing a more extended forecast, currently only shows 4 days ahead. I would also like to see severe weather alerts and customization options. I was Holding out for a Hero, an app that would allow me to check the weather for free without ads and in that looked better than the stock app. This app has it all: Widgets, Forecast, Simplicity. I am forever indebted to the people who made this app. All i can give is a thank you and a place in my heart but you’ll always have it. Update: haven’t seen an update in a while. Putting this at the bottom of the review so hopefully it’ll encourage the dev and not deter most regular review readers. (Also: fair subscriptions like this app uses are completely fair: devs need to make a living to keep supporting their apps!) ### 5/5 — This is a gorgeous app *2023-07-16* This app is gorgeous and displays the weather at a glance. It’s minimal and beautiful. For everyone staying the app needs more displayed data and info, you don’t understand that this will cost the developer money which will then require a subscription model from us. I for one refuse to pay a penny for weather data that is free online at any given moment. What makes this app special is its design and minimal interface and data. In this digital world it’s nice to find an app as beautiful that is free.
