Just to get the Zhuo cosmetic skin costs over 1k GBP. Even without ingame-purchase you cultivate steadily which brings the charm of longterm gaming, management of ressources and doing sect-events. To me the Cultivation-Theme fits to the patient gaming-mechanics. Also the gatcha pay to win is too tempting, and there is too many events. Like leviathans. Or the sky whales called Dapeng in this game (they are beyond massive) 🐋. The amount of money these ppl throw at this game is insane. So don’t expect to get anywhere fast, or even think of winning in PvP. The grind is long and slow at times if you haven’t spent any money. They finally added the ability to get backgrounds, but you must spend lots to get them. As far as combat, everyone is a circular profile pic with fancy effects. And that’s it. The cool looking gear is really just displayed on your profile when people look you up. Devs don’t know basic math nor how logic works. Second, it’s pay to win to the point that you will fail a breakthrough and have to wait 16 hours to try again. Also the RNG is absolutely against you in everything. Third, it appropriates Taoist principles for its garbage storyline. Some of the religious writings are paywalled to boot. That’s not a thing in Taoism. Lastly, I’ve tried hard to try and enjoy the game. The problem is that I have too much respect for China and Taoism to support such trash like this. The 5 star reviews are bots obviously and need to be ignored. Longer review: 4 new global servers released on 8/21/26. 8/22 is the first, weekly event featuring a ‘sect clash’ between multiple servers This event is a limited time, exciting, and competitive event with a 10 minute window. 10 minutes! If you are 60s late, you missed 10% of the event The server performance and lag was horrible for everyone. Commands would take 3-5s for a response and my screen would update every 1-3s. This is consistent event-wide, with many people commenting in the chat. This game is decent, but unfortunately this shows a decline in service for this game. Releasing new servers despite no infrastructure to ensure critical events can function properly. If you enjoy cultivation games and want a short-term game, try it. If you’re looking for a mid/long-term game or something to spend money on, look elsewhere. Stability is terrible and crashes a lot. Solo story battles are horrendous in terms of balancing and pvp is ruled by whales. Your BR numbers means nothing and you will have to grind longer just to get through the story. The feeling I got from playing was that the devs are grade school dropouts because they can’t figure out basic math. Particularly lesser than and more than. If you’re looking for a cultivation game, this one is the absolute worst by far and you’re better off going to any other game. The five star reviews are bots fyi. I played Overmortal back in 2023 and had to stop for awhile cause I needed to focus on other things, but now I’m trying to come back to the game but I can’t seem to load up my old character or just connect to another server. My character name is XiaoFan I was in server 28180-Terraindom s80. My character has over 30B in power and is at the wholeness (C) stage. Overall I do recommend it, but definitely recommend a bit more progression for the much higher stages. I feel like the lower stages arnt to bad rn. But f2p is quite good, you really don’t need to spend money, just understand game mechanics and that should help u along.
