### 5/5 — Books, Chats, and Inclusion

The OwlCrate Nest app is my safe space, my blanket fort when the internet is lava. I get great book recommendations, pet photos, craft photos, and just a really happy and supportive space. If books are your thing, please join us in the nest. We’re excited to meet you.

### 5/5 — Top Notch Book Community

I love this app! It’s all things books (and not just OwlCrate books). If you ever wanted a social platform full of book lovers, this is it!

### 5/5 — A refreshing break from all other social media

### 5/5 — Nice community, I feel like I belong

Love the community, it is a safe place to let the book nerd in me come out. Love the book recommendations, the book related posts and of course updates on the OwlCrate boxes!!

### 5/5 — Awesome community

*2023-03-25, version 3.64.3*

I love The Nest as a supportive readers’ community. The different groups devoted to genres and activities are great! I am thrilled to be a member of The Nest and be able to take part in everything it has to offer. Which is a LOT.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Fabulous App

*2023-03-25, version 3.64.3*

So I have grown to dislike social media over the years. It causes my anxiety to go crazy and you can find so much negativity everywhere you look. But this app has been one of the most positive communities I’ve ever seen. Everyone has been incredibly kind, and I’ve learned about so many new books to add to my tbr! It also helps encourage reading through reading challenges, where you can join groups and discuss your books and what you might be struggling with. There are other cool things like interviews with popular authors/authors of the books that Owlcrate sends out in their boxes. You don’t have to be an owlcrate subscriber to participate in the app, but honestly I don’t know how you could resist once you see the images of the items and books from the boxes each month. If you’re looking for a safe space to find fellow book worms and discuss books, or if you’re even just thinking about trying to read more, I highly recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Great bookish community

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

I really enjoy this bookish community app. There are lots of different groups to join and lots of events to take place in. There is a bit of a learning curve to use it but it’s a good source of bookish entertainment once you get the hang of it.

### 5/5 — Creating an Amazing Community

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

I’ve been really impressed with the Owlcrate app. Not only is this amazing bookish community so opening and welcoming, but it is also ran extremely well. There are many events and read a longs of different genres, along with chats with authors (both Owlcrate authors and not), members of the team, and creators! I can clearly see that this can only get better in the coming months and beyond. 💜

### 5/5 — Great Bookish Community!

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

Love this app! It’s so great to be part of all the different groups and learn about new books and authors. There’s always great content and the app is easy to navigate.

It’s a must have for book lovers!

### 5/5 — A fun book community!

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

The Nest is a lovely book community. A great place to talk to other book lovers! Live author talks. Added bonus if you are an OwlCrate subscriber, but you don’t need to be to join in all all the other chats and features!

### 5/5 — Love this Community

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

I joined this app in the very early days, and I don’t regret it one bit. The community is so overwhelmingly positive and helpful, from providing amazing book rec’s to helping with finding info, as well as the ongoing book club and challenges out on by the admins and moderators. While OwlCrate is primarily focused on YA and Fantasy books, there are groups for every type of reader and you’ll be sure to find something you enjoy!

### 5/5 — So great

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

I love the community being built here. I love how the admins are involved and present in discussions. It’s not toxic and a great place to talk Owlcrate and books in general!

### 5/5 — LindseyG

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

I love the owlcrate subscription and the community is great and supportive. It’s super fun, safe, and easy to use! No complaints!!

### 5/5 — Great for those looking for more Bookish Community

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

As much as I’d love to have time to participate in a book club or group of fellow readers, I just don’t have the time or the network to work such a thing. I joined Owlcrate Nest expecting to get inside scoops and discounts for their box. What I didn’t expect was to find a place where book lovers (and likers) get together to talk books, tv adaptions, book news and all bookish things. It’s really a bookish network and community in an app and I’m here for it!

### 5/5 — I LOVE the nest

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

This is the perfect app for book lovers. It’s not focused on numbers or aesthetics, it’s just an inclusive place for people to get together and talk about books and reading and similar hobbies. There are reading challenges, too, like the Words & Whimsy challenge that chooses a new theme each month and it’s just a super fun time. I highly recommend to any and all readers out there looking for community!!

### 5/5 — Amazing app for book lovers!

*2023-03-24, version 3.64.3*

The OwlCrate app is so much more than about a book subscription box. It’s basically a social media platform for book lovers. There are so many great groups, live exclusive author chats, and an amazing monthly book club.

### 5/5 — A fun bookish app!

*2023-01-20*

I like that it’s not a Goodreads alternative but more of a better refined version of book discords or book clubs FB groups. Great community, and user friendly app, I like how many groups there are and the author Lives.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — not the bookish community I know

*2023-01-04, version 3.64.3*

I understand wanting to keep the space positive but this isn’t the supportive bookish community I’ve come to know and love… guidelines aren’t clear and there are some questionable things I’ve come across.

### 3/5 — Great potential

*2023-01-31, version 3.64.3*

This bookish social network has a clean, eye catching visual interface that’s really pleasant to scroll through. It’s a small, generally supportive community, but fairly homogenous in book tastes. There’s a LOT of Fantasy and YA discussed. The most active participants all seem pretty demographically similar. It can feel a bit like an echo chamber as everyone appears to be reading the same books.

For app improvements, I would love to have members be able to make their own groups or lists, like on Goodreads. And to make the app functional, I need to be able to choose what types of notifications I receive, instead of getting a notification every time someone posts in any group I’m in (some of which are mandatory). Right now responses to my posts are buried in my notifications and I miss them.

### 5/5 — Owlcrate

*2024-03-20, version 4.23.6*

Wow, I'm blown away by my first visit to Owlcrate! The site is a treasure trove for book lovers, with a vast selection of thoughtfully curated titles and insightful reviews. The community is warm and welcoming, and I love the attention to detail in the book club's theming and packaging. I can't wait to dive deeper into the world of literature with Owlcrate as my guide. 5 stars and a new subscriber!

### 5/5 — Super friendly & welcoming community with fun events

*2023-08-23, version 3.64.3*

Title says it all! Everyone is so welcoming and there's always discussions and events/challenges going on :)

### 5/5 — Love

*2023-04-01, version 3.64.3*

Literally such an awesome community. Been here since the beginning and I have no regrets. Its not just about Owlcrate—it’s about books in general. Readers get to gush over their favorite books & get recommendations!

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

### 5/5 — Welcome to parliament!

### 5/5 — OwlCrate Nest

*2023-03-29, version 3.64.3*

Love, love, LOVE the OwlCrate nest app. This app is perfect for book lovers and it’s not just for those who subscribe to OwlCrate. This is a non-judgmental space where book lovers can come together. If you haven’t joined yet, what are you waiting for?

### 5/5 — New favorite place on the internet

*2023-03-29, version 3.64.3*

I love when I find a community of folks who enjoy reading as much as I do. Even better when it can be found off of major social media platforms like Meta. With the possibility of a TikTok ban and with that the loss of BookTok, the existence of this brilliant app and inclusive space would make that loss sting a little less for me.

## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated)

*2023-03-29, version 3.64.3*

The Nest is a great community that allows readers to share their love of reading and books with like minded people!

I love this app so much. Everyone seems so friendly and it’s so fun to see what everyone else is reading in their day to day lives. If you’re ever looking for ideas on what book to read next you should definitely check out this app and see what everyone else is up to.
