## What is Own Your Life?

A diary that shows your whole life across years — one year, five, ten — not just today's to-dos.
Write a line a day, and watch a decade take shape on a single screen.
Free. No subscription, no ads, no tracking. A tool meant to last ten years.

When evening comes, think back over your day.
What went well, what felt off, what you'd like to bring to tomorrow.

OYL is an app made for that kind of moment.
Less a quick to-do app, more a place to hold small daily choices
alongside the larger direction of your life.

In the morning, write down the one thing that matters most today.
At the end of a week, take a short look across seven areas of life.
At the end of a year, leave a few words for the year that just passed.
And now and then, step back and see your life across years — not only today.

OYL doesn't score you. It doesn't compare you, and it doesn't rank you.
It records, reflects, and prepares for what comes next.

### 5/5 — Awesome app with high potential

*2026-08-19*

Well designed app that serves several functions (journal, habit tracker, life compass) in a very intuitive and intentional way. The app is still very new but has the potential to replace several apps that charge subscriptions.

One feature I’d personally enjoy is adding customizable templates to the journal with features like lists, bullets, headers, etc.

Keep up the strong work!

**Developer response:** Thank you for reading the app the way it was built — journal, habits, and compass as one surface rather than three separate tools.

On formatting: part of what you are asking for already exists, and if you did not find it, that is a discoverability problem on my side. In the journal editor there is a small "Aa" button on the tool row. Turn it on and the entry is written and rendered as Markdown — lists, bullets, and headers all work today.

What is genuinely missing is the reusable part: saved templates you can start an entry from. That one I will look at closely. It fits the direction the app is going, and I am glad you named it.

Ideas like this are the most useful thing I receive. If anything else comes to mind — a fix, a feature, or a detail that feels off — please do write to sunghun.ahn@gmail.com. It reaches me directly, and it is always welcome.

**Developer response:**

之后如果还有想法或遇到问题，欢迎写信到 sunghun.ahn@gmail.com。

### 5/5 — Great app! Also a question

*2026-07-13*

I love this app so much and it’s been a while since I’ve encountered an app that has well thought features and ideas in its design

My question is regarding how to add a special day like an anniversary

And I would appreciate if you added a how to use section in the settings as it would make discovering all app features easier! But that’s up to you

Thank you for such a beautifully designed application and looking forward to more of your creativity

Edit: thank you for your response, I actually will nudge you again to check the iPad version because the button to add a special day is not there

I tried emailing a screenshot for proof but the email didn’t get delivered

So I am reporting to you here

**Developer response:** Thank you for the nudge — you were right. On iPad the add button wasn't showing at all; I reproduced it and fixed it. The next update adds a visible “Add a special day” button on the screen itself, on every device, and also makes the Guided Tour easier to find in Settings. Until then, on iPhone the + sits in the top-right of Special Days.

I'm sorry the support email bounced — this report reached me, and it helped. Thank you for taking the time to write twice.

And if you ever have ideas for improvements or new features, I'd be truly grateful to hear them anytime at sunghun.ahn@gmail.com.

**Developer response:**

**Developer response:**

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-05-19*

Pleasantly surprised at how wonderfully well done this app is for being absolutely brand new. I can only imagine how great it’s going to be in the future with more updates and stuff I have recommend.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to write this — it genuinely means a lot, especially in these early days.

If you have a moment, we would love to hear specifics: what features would you most want to see next? Anything in the app that feels off, or that could work better? The more concrete, the better — every word helps us decide what to build.

Thank you again, truly.

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2026-05-16*

Love the format of the app and its overall structure. One star off as there is no backup at all.

**Developer response:** Update — iCloud Sync is already in v2.2.x (Settings → iCloud Sync). The Mac native release is what's coming in 2026 H2, not iCloud Sync itself. Sorry for the earlier confusion in this reply.
